being inspected by the department top in boston inspection services. >> these are temperature control issues with food, someone reporting to work who was ill. >> reporter: on monday, the school said 30 students including members of the men's the school released an email saying the school is now 80. >> we got the email a while several students. now it is much more widespread, that's concerning. >> reporter: chipotle mexican grill says it things that illnesses are a result of norovirus, not a multistate outbreak of e. coli linked to the restaurant. the outbreak sickened dozens of last month. >> i feel fortunate since it has been going around the country, to hit a college campus so isolated with students. chipotle location has not had recent violations in the past five years. last report was in 2008 over a food reported illness. >> before we will allow them to

16, significant storm just couple hundred miles. new england. we got raised with rainfall mainly across the southeast massachusetts and not big rain totals. still lingering clouds, that will be the case tonight. as we look across the country, we've got a train of storms. one off of the coast, another impulse moving through the midwest, another in the northwest and they have one thing in common. got pacific fog flooding its way across the country. pacific fog is miles, that will keep the cold at bay and locked up in canada. looking at the hour by hour tonight, they will be patchy areas of clouds holding on, miss dan fog and i would be cautious traveling with temperatures going below freezing, could get slick on some of those roadways. as we head into the day tomorrow, looking at some clouds again feeling and but there will be more sunshine compared to what we had today. partly scummy skies. as we head toward thursday, more clouds around, a few sprinkles. this is an unsettled week systems. a couple of raindrops here,

on the upstream but nothing to sink your teeth into. temperatures fall back in the 20s tonight, clearing, 33 in boston, 34 in hyannis, clouds should be most picked for the cape and islands, or first half of the evening. cloudy, chilly and wintry. we will not warm-up that much, seasonal day. exit sun and clouds at noon at 43 degrees. as we head for the evening, mainly cloudy skies, sunset a few seconds later than what we are seeing this evening. high temperatures tomorrow in the 40s, right on target for this time of year. then we start our warming trend. as we head for the rest of this week. mild air moving in thursday and friday. we are watching this weekend, where exactly this front set up. usually this time of year, there is no across northern new england, might be high pressure in parts of canada. that will force these fronts to the south and keep us from warming up. we don't have that. that milder air will punch in a saturday, it starts to move in sunday and should still be here monday. how that record highs?

day of bellringing at the market basket in billerica. the salvation army taking donations to fund the poor. >> i was quite shocked. i had to pause for a moment and then i found a ring. >> reporter: this diamond ring, someone's engagement ring, given anonymously. >> we had it appraised and they said the replacement value would be $3500. >> reporter: last december, there was a rash of jewelry donations placed in the red kettles. first, wedding rings in boston, a cross in brookline, a pendant in fitchburg. more rings in weymouth. this is the first time that the lowell area salvation army has received a gift. >> it's nice to know someone would give a gift of this value, something personal. >> reporter: money raised from the ring and other efforts will go to help the needy during the holidays. >> we will help over 600 families with food. the children in those families

just to make the holiday time special. >> so, the ring will be auctioned on saturday but the salvation army says that is the smaller donations in the red kettles that allow them to do all of their work. hopefully in the lowell area, they hope to raise $160,000 worth this season. a nice, grandiose gesture but the little donations are really what they are counting on. >> we were saying you can't help but create a story around that ring. >> whose ring? why? maybe we will find out. celebrating the holidays in a big way with the patriots. >> up next, one of our favorite events of the holiday season. we will go live to gillette stadium where the party is about to kick off in your favor players are getting in spirit. the new respect firefighters are getting even before they get the job, but it's costing taxpayers millions. coming up 6:00, a strangers a simple gesture. clothes left out for the cold on boston common.
