go to cbsnews.com. . live from the channel 4 studios in boston, wbz news at 11 starts right now. tonight, the family of a man is reeling after he was killed by a driver who police say was high on drugs. good evening everyone. i'm katie. >> and i'm ken. thank you for joining us. the victim was well-known in that community where he was years. jim is live with us. his christmas tree shop is right across the street here. his wife told me he sold trees for years and he loved it. but unfortunately, that came to a sudden end last night. >> that man was my life. my husband was a very gentle and

and i won't get him back. >> she sits in front of her christmas tree in disbelief. joe brady was killed friday night. a husband and grandfather killed in a brutal way. he was hit by a car trying to cross route 27. >> hit him and that was it. >> just plowed right into him? >> plowed right into him. knocked his shoes off and hit the windshield and he was 25, 35 feet down the road where they found him. >> the driver was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs. >> i hope they charge him with everything. homicide, drugs -- the whole 9 yards. i want him on. >> joe brady's passion was auto racing. he had owned race cars for five decades. a member of the new england hall of fame. >> he was a legend and i say he

arrested a person of interest in the fire bombing at a mosque. the blaze at the islamic center in palm spwrayngz called an intentional act. it's being investigated as a hate crime. >> investigators are looking for the suspect. >> final good-byes of the victims in georgia. family members say shannon was killed that day using his body as a shield. >> shannon's fearless. always been that way. >> and a funeral for tim nguyen in california. >> the president urged americans to stay vigilant. >> even as americans to not grieve, people are refusing to be governed by fear.

. al gore among those in the crowd in france applauding a worldwide agreement to fight climate change. the deal comes two weekdz after the leaders of nearly 200 nations convened to cut greenhouse gases. critics say it doesn't go far enough. hundreds rallied in downtown boston today hunting for stricter rules. but as bryan explains, negotiators in paris say it's a good start. >>reporter: after 10 days of talks, nearly 200 countries agreed to fight global warming by eliminating greenhouse gases. they plan to switch from coal

some 70s and record highs out there. but cold in the rockies where there's some snow falling there. and thunderstorms in the plains. a few severe. low 40s for the most part and maybe 50s in boston. but really not that much warmer. a little warmer way out west. as this front comes south, we're introducing cooler air from canada. not pushing in cold air yet. just oozing in here. and basically cloudy all day long tomorrow. maybe a spritz coming around. the warm air not too far away and trying to make a better run back at us. but the real warm air won't get here until late in the evening. and then we'll get these heavier showers in the cold run. here's my 7-day forecast. it's calling for a return here. most of monday probably in the

upper 40s in the evening when it becomes wettest. still warm -- 56. looks like next weekend, it will turn colder. that will be a pattern change. it will be colder and maybe 30s on sunday. still no chance of any snows until a storm gets close to us. that's the only chance we have for a white christmas. still pretty warm. >> pretty warm. yeah. well it was an early christmas for some red sox fans. >> they had a chance to buy tickets for the 2016 season and they had to chance to talk to players plus santa and the green monster. and more on the patriots preparations. plus a big division match-up for the bruins. and ryan was the man for the panthers.
