honorary degree from bu has been taken back.>> reporter: bu is the latest goal to cut ties with the comedian. bill cosby is countersuing severin -- seven women suing him in a massachusetts could room -- courtroom. a year and a half after getting his honorary degree, boston university is taking it back.>> it is not a surprise given the charges.>> reporter: the school is making the move after dozens of women claimed sexual assault. the president of the university says he has discredited the university. students say it is the right call. >> it is consistent with what the university has been trying to do. it makes a lot of sense.

bring it to you live on air and online@cbsboston.com. the driver of the runway red line train is waiting to find out if he will be fired. he was apparently dealing with too much stress to deal with his hearing. is accused of wrapping a rubber cord around an accelerator control and when he stepped off the train it took off. it pass through four stations before employees cut the power. the two veteran workers who stopped the train are getting special recognition. gov. baker presented citations to mark mcneil and lee saunders. the governor says they moved other trains before shutting a lot of criticism. when we have employees that do exceed expectations, i think it should be acknowledged.>>

but one store, the only place in boston that sells this kind of stuff. >> reporter:...run by one woman in particular taught so many to slow down. >> she was this wonderful old lady who really shared her passion for what she was doing. >> she was nice and fair and very kind about everything.>> there was nobody like her. >> reporter: this weekend so many took a moment to stop to read, to reflect about the life, the legacy ethel weiss leaves behind. >> she was one of the time. you don't see her anymore. >> reporter: she passed away at the age of 101. she spent most of her days running the candy store she and her husband, irving, opened in 1939, where she works until the last of her days. cbs news visitor her -- visited her a few months ago.

a dispute over a hotel bill led to this scene. the driver was upset over his bill and made good on his promise to run the employees down. can see the clerks had to jump out of the way. a were not hurt. the driver faces criminal charges. drone owners will soon have to register their aircraft. and alarming jump in the number of close calls near airports including logan. the new rolls -- rules take effect next week. boston police need your help they are not looking for a cat.

she joined the ranks and was dubbed swat cat. she disappeared. officers there are devastated. they want to find her. tonight, the ultimate ride long for kids in boston cruising the toy aisles with boston police. it's called shop with a cop. it means christmas comes early. 330 children picked out a gift for first responders. they arrived like this with a police escort. the kids obviously love it but the police commissioner says it's also a highlight for the officers.>> we take for granted that santa comes down the tree for everybody and they don't. this is the way we can be santa to a lot of the kids. >> public and private donations pick up much of the cost.>> shop with a cop usually accompanied by wintry weather.

we're way up into the 50s, even some 60s when you wake up tomorrow morning. by 9:00, most showers will be all done. we will hold in the 50s during afternoon and start to cool off as we head to the late afternoon and evening with the 40s starting to show up. the main story tomorrow outside the warmth is the win. advisories are out. strongest winds midday. i think most will be out of the west at 30-45 miles an hour. a couple may be getting up to 50. a very blustery day. showers coming to an end in the morning timeframe. partly sunny and gusty at lunchtime. we will keep the wind for the evening, cooling-off into the upper 40s to low 50s. still way above the norm. towards midweek, things come down. high-pressure building in with sunshine and 40s. the next-door moves in after that. this is an inside runner. we will have temperatures near 50 and rain moving in thursday. winter will show up this
