live from the channel 4 studios in boston wbz news at 11:00 starts right now. new at 11:00 a child left alone in her home when it burst into flames, the good news tonight, the 8-year-old made it out safely. >> but we also know tonight the dcf is now involved as investigators in milton have a lot of questions. julie loncich is live at the scene for us with the latest >> reporter: dcf is involved and responded almost immediately. fire crews are still on scene here in milton, although they are wrapping up. this was a very sizable fire. it went to three alarms. the duplex is a total loss and as you said, we have learned an 8-year-old girl was home alone on hudson street in milton at 4:00 this afternoon.

started in a kitchen in the first floor unit. officials tell wbz an 8-year- time. her mother they say had gone to the grocery store. the deputy fire chief tells me the child ran outside and was being comforted by neighbors when they first arrived. in fact, they say the child's more still wasn't here. fortunately this child, this girl, is going to be okay. a firefighter, however, did suffer a minor shoulder injury. it out safely. again the police chief here in milton tells us dcf was involved. they responded. we're live in milton julie loncich, wbz news. >> julie, thank you. tonight a wbz exclusive, the fbi says it caught the armed robber who terrorized a clerk in brewster and that that man is wanted in a dozen hits like this up and down the east coast. the victim in that frightening robbery is talking only to wbz's katie brace. katie? >> reporter: the fbi was looking for this armed robber

the way up to the east coast. well, he is now under arrest, but police did not catch him until he robbed this store in brewster. there is one customer the family at brewster farms country market would like to forget. >> no. he's like my mind everything, i'm scared to death. >> reporter: but pat tell family and law enforcement from several -- the patel family and law enforcement from several states are indebted to the brewster community for remembering the guy in the surveillance video. saumil patel's father was the man behind the cash register. >> he is like everything is fine now that he's arrested. >> reporter: here you can see him run up and tap the armed robber. >> i see the gun and he's like go back otherwise i shoot you and i go in the back and he just run out. >> reporter: police posted images to social media. >> members of our community were brave enough to come forward. >> reporter: thank to community tips officers arrested 27-year-old michael

bernardino terror attack, the friend and former neighbor of one of the shooters is charged tonight. the fbi says that there were more plots including stopping traffic just to open fire on people. liam martin tracking the story tonight in our satellite center. liam. >> david, the man has been a key figure for federal agents, this as they were still trying to piece together how that couple carried out the massacre that killed 14 people. enrique marquez entered a federal courthouse in this car. he is charged with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists, a firearms violation and immigration fraud. the former security guard purchased two assault rifles and explosives that syed farook and his wife tashfeen malik used in then is shootings. -- used in the san bernardino shootings. his neighbors are still in shock. >> helping these people, it's just like -- i can't believe it. >> reporter: the fbi raided marquez's home and questioned

into a mental health facility. the suspect who had confirmed to islam confessed that he and farook planned but abandoned several terrorist plots that included attacks on the riverside community college in 2011 and a freeway shooting on route state 91. marquez is also related to farook by marriage. according to records, farook married the russian sister of his sister-in-law and his wife paid for the sham marriage to obtain legal status in the u.s. marquez faces a maximum of 35 years in prison. he'll be in court monday for a bond hearing. tomorrow president obama will travel to san bernardino to meet with the victims' families and survivors of the shooting there. after meeting with his national security team today the president tried to reassure americans there is no credible threat ahead of the holidays. >> at this moment our intelligence and counterterrorism professionals do not have any specific and

attack on the homeland. that said, we have to be vigilant. >> and this is a sign of the times. disney world is boosting security and adding metal detectors. universal and seaworld in florida will also scan visitors and disney is banning toy guns at all its parks. new at 11:00 a brookline mother is suing chipotle because of the norovirus outbreak in cleveland circle. andrea dow said her 16-year-old son alexander was one of the 153 people who got sick. now the lawyer representing the family says the restaurant need to be put under a microscope so it doesn't happen again. chipotle said that they don't comment on pending legal action. tonight that restaurant, closed. the city of boston raising the age to buy cigarettes now from 18 to 21. that change takes effect in february. boston joins 85 other communities in massachusetts that have already increased the

well, fans out in full force to see star wars the force awakens. it's been a february year gap since the last movie and this now -- 10 year gap since the last movie and this movie is expected to break box office records. >> dreary weather didn't keep the stormtroopers or any other die hard star wars fans from the theaters tonight. >> reporter: some of the fans here actually showed up at 3 a.m. this morning to watch all six previous star wars movies in a row, about 15 hours worth, before watching episode seven. they're all home now. meantime the force awakens has taken over pretty much the entire theater. look at these 10 screens, seven of them you see force, the new star wars movie. the other nine are showing the film now, all of them as we speak packed. how was it? >> unbelievable. >> reporter: as the 7 p.m. showing of the latest star wars

showing the force awakens had some different security measures in place. there were restrictions on face paint, on masks, on capes and bringing any weapons in, but as you can see in that story, a little more lax at show case cinemas. people were allowed to come in costume with their light sabres if they chose. there is a little extra security because there is such an intensity around this movie. this movie officially opens tomorrow. >> jim, is there a height requirement for the stormtroopers? >> yeah. that's a very famous line from the movie obviously. >> just testing you and you passed. thank you. the force awakens brings us to our number of the night. $100million, that is how much money fans spent brief ordering tickets, more than any other film -- preordering tickets, more than any other film in history. >> how much candy do you have to order it get through seven movies?

looking at our hour by hour forecast, the clouds and fog linger so it's mainly overcast start to the day top. midday and the afternoon some showers are likely to move up mainly across the came islands, south coast and south shore and a couple showers could get up into boston. you want to keep the umbrella or rain jacket handy. the farther west you are getting into wooster, can southwestern new hampshire, a much -- southwestern new hampshire, a much better chance of seeing the sun shining and then the cold air coming in. we'll get the lake effect snow machine cranking and have the wind chill values in the teens and 20s on saturday. if you've been looking for a few festive flakes, something to remind you it is winter right around the corner, i think some of these lake effect snow showers will make the trim, across the berkshires and get -- chip, cross the berkshires and get into --

get into our area saturday. it's very likely we'll see our very latest snow recorded in wooster and right now the record is christmas eve. weekend forecast 35 to 40 saturday, wind, blustery. if you're doing holiday shopping, bundle up. on saturday upper 30s to low 40s, less wind and more sunshine and so a nice calm day for the patriots here, a little breeze from the west, northwest, 42 at kickoff, 37 in the 4th quarter, winter jackets but not too bad. that cold air starts to head on out next week. in comes the warmth again, the chance for some record highs. christmas eve i think is our best shot for a new record. we're looking at a record standing at 61 degrees and we're forecasting 64. here's your accuweather seven- day, not just is next week filed, but a lot of clouds -- mild but a lot of clouds and chances for showers.
