officials say they aren't taking chances. nichole jacobs is live in nashua with more this noon, good afternoon, nichole. >> reporter: good afternoon to you chris and kathryn. i can tell you this afternoon we do expect to hear from the police chief, the school superintendent and the fbi with regards to an update in this investigation, but i did get a chance to ask the superintendent directly what made this threat different than others that have perhaps circulated, and he said it was the specificity of it. the direct schools named and how this violence would be carried out. it's unusual for the nashua school district, a school wide shut down. >> last time we got a a threat that led to the closure of a school was almost a decade ago. >> reporter: over the weekend it happened, wbz has learned a school administrator received a threat via e-mail. they will say this.

high schools by name, it stated place today. and it gave the means by which harm would be done to students. >> reporter: out of an abundance of caution this say all 17 schools in the district were closed. >> we felt by being conservative we are hoping it will be reassuring of parents when we say we are reopening our schools that they'll trust that they are safe. >> the two high schools make up one-third of schools in the district, his decision was based on the information in front of him. >> sometimes you can receive threats from within the student body and they are general or broad and you can trace them back quickly. >> there is an on-going investigation, authorities have yet to determine the source of the threat and its credible. >> we are going to work -- credibility. >> we are going to work with the school system. and take it from there. >> reporter: the school

expects all schools to resume classes tomorrow unless perhaps between now and then there is new information to emerge, we do expect an update in this investigation sometime this afternoon. that is the latest from nashua, new hampshire, nichole jacobs. more breaking news, republican presidential hopeful lindsey graham dropping out of the race, the south carolina senator posted a video announcing his decision, it comes as the race continues heading up with democrats and republicans, mark albert reports. >> today i'm suspending my campaign for president. >> senator lindsey graham released an online video says he is dropping out of the race for the white house. >> i believe we have run a campaign we can be proud of. it's a big problem. >> but those bold solutions for national security and other issues never attracted much attention from voters.

we are continuing to follow breaking news for you this noon, lakeville police are searching for a woman who could her. paul burton is live in lakeville with the latest, they in this one. >> reporter: that is correct. now police are not saying much at this time. what we do know they received a a potential kidnapping. ever since then they put out a warning and looking for the driver of a land rover, 2002 discovery, and they are looking valarie mcgraff. police say she may have with her a 7-year-old girl and a 5- year-old boy. that car that she is driving is a 2002 land rover discovery 847 zz 2. i will say it again 847 zz 2. this is not an amber alert as of yet much we do not surrounding this potential kidnapping.
