live, wbz news starts right now. now at 5: 30, a wet and warm late december evening rain is now falling over the area right now as we get later it will only get warmer and warmer.>> it's just crazy. get ready to say goodbye to our record. let's check with eric fisher again on this unbelievable christmas weather. >> i sound like a broken record. all week long we have talked about these temperatures being way above normal. it was wild again today. it will be about 70 degrees by tomorrow afternoon. there will be plenty of rain before that. it will be passing through all late tonight and wrapping up early tomorrow morning. that's when we will break into the exceptional stuff. dc's at 68 right now, 60s in st. louis, 60 in chicago. all across the east is warm air.

then we will see breaks a sunshine, up to 70 in the afternoon, falling to 60 at night. it's by far the warmest christmas eve anyone alive here has gone through. the 70 degree temperatures of only happened seven times in boston during december. that's in a 144 year history. that's a rare occurrence. we will still be 60 degrees on christmas. that won't be much of a cooldown. it will be a lot like fourth of july, a high of 72 and low of 62, almost the same thing tomorrow. we will have a full look at the forecast which includes snow coming up in a little bit work -- bit. a robber on the run tonight investigators say this guy is responsible for a series of bank robberies all across new england. u.s. marshals are saying he is armed and dangerous. >> sometimes he commits his crimes dressed as a woman. investigators said he almost always flashes a gun. we have this developing story now.

december 1 with a runner jury -- a robbery in charleston, new hampshire. then there was this bank in loud in 3 days later. his face -- largely visible including the gun. >> it gets strange in these >> reporter: it did get stranger. a week later he dressed as a woman until the teller he had a bomb. this past monday he hit a bank in ludlow, vermont and again flashing a gun. authorities believe all of these robberies were committed by matthew martin, considered armed and dangerous. >> the quicker we get him off the streets, the safer everyone will be. >> reporter: he is now want to buy the u.s. marshall and they are offering $5000 for information leading to his arrest.>> -- he was last known to be living in springfield, --

he is considered a fugitive. and air man was drunk when he got behind the wheel back in september and hit a brother and sister in worcester. this was his third drunk driving arrest. he will be back in court february. a member of the collier family is really -- reacting to the release of stephan silva who was released after giving the american -- boston marathon bombers the gun they used to kill the mit officer. he said he had no idea what they planned to do with the weapon. collier's family members said

after seeing himself on the news, the man responsible for stealing these lights turned himself in. he apologized to the police saying he was drinking when he committed the prank. he said he didn't know the family. the family said they do not want to press charges. iraqi security forces are advancing on isis, making strides in regaining control of the city of hammadi. they are making their way into the government compound, clearing neighborhoods as they go. many isis militants have left the area but many improvised explosive devices have been left behind. the woman accused of running down several people on the las vegas strip appeared in court today. they are expecting more charges to be filed. she is charged with murder, hit and run and child abuse. investigators say her three- year-old daughter was in the backseat when she intentionally drove into the crowd. one person was killed and 35 others were hurt. u.s. transportation officials have just confirmed

double digits about average. we warm up before midnight tonight. we may add to that number a little bit. we are well on our way to the warmest december ever recorded in new england. we are watching a powerful storm system producing tornadoes and severe weather in the will of the country. it's very warm and humid here ahead of it that will be searching its way in overnight. the rain is on the leading edge of all of that. look at the radar. there's heavy rainfall near philly and new york moving its way to connecticut as well. we will see rain this evening. there's a steady rainfall in central massachusetts. the very slow drive as well. this rain will increase coming down heavily tonight. the weather will stay like this for the next few hours and then the temperature will jump as we had to midnight. we will have wet evening with rain moving its way through. we could even hear some rumbles of thunder.

it's still a little cooler north of the pipe. you won't break into that weather until later tomorrow morning in that area. most of us are off to a balmy start however. we will have lingering showers in the morning and then sunshine will breakout. there will be nothing normal about this. imagers will be near 70 -- 70, breezy, humid. it will feel more like memorial day. christmas eve, leftover shower in the morning and then sunshine , up around 70 and maggie. 60s -- 70 and then 60s in the evening. the coolest air will be the islands in the lower 60s. we will have a mix of sun and crowds -- sun and clouds as we enter the christmas holiday
