warm air, the downpours that you see, been some lightning strikes here along loeung eye -- long island sound, taking a look at the rain all here, very soggy out there, but the real tropical downpours, i mean, this is like a late spring set up, moving their way in to the south coast, the islands and cape cod, pouring rain, fall river in bedford and continuing to move its way north and northeast over the next couple hours, a lot of rain over the short amount of time, right behind it, the warmth 60 and westerly, washing north ward as we move through, hour by hour, the downpours through 3:00 and rumbles of thunder, notice tomorrow morning, already in the 60s when you wake up, clouds around southern ham, going -- new hampshire, going l to take a little bit longer, till we get to the warm air, the sun the temps, up around 70 degrees, crushing the record, finally that cooler, relatively cooler

missouri, the storm pelted the area with hail, witnesses in hyland, arkansas, say storms there rolled in without warning. >> snapped off a pine tree by my trurks and i -- my truck and just slammed and thought lord, just let me survive this. >> reporter: and this polk county arkansas, an 18-year-old woman died after a tree fell on her house. >> i went to my daughter's house, get up, we might have to go somewhere, thinking it might be like tornado or something, scared me to death. and i just, it was like, just right there, i don't know how it, i mean, i didn't even get a limb in my yard. >> reporter: forecasters say the risk for long track tornadoes continues through the night the threat diminishes thursday. and that nasty weather across the nation is also making a mess of the holiday getaway with more than 5,300 flight delays, and more than 400 cancellations, kate? >> all right, liam we will track these tornado and damage right through the night for the latest on the storms and our record setting forecast, watch wbz

>> you found it? oh my god! a new hampshire family left picking up the pieces after fire burned through their home, and our cameras captured the very moment they found their wedding bands in the rubble. wbz's louisa moller shows us the surprise. >> you found it! oh my god! >> reporter: as our camera was rolling, jennifer learned a friend had found her wedding band buried underneath soot, dirt and debris. that friend also found the wedding band belonging to jennifer's husband. >> together. they were survived! a little black and charcoaled. >> reporter: just one example of the generosity that's poured in since tuesday night when their milton, new hampshire home went up in flames. in it, the christmas presents for the couple's first grade

the cause of the fire still undetermined. in milton, new hampshire, i'm louisa moller, wbz news. new details in the real life grinch caught stealing decorations in lynn, police tell us he had a change of heart after seeing himself on tv, he turned himself in explaining his antics were part of a prank, the homeowner decided not to express charges. a taco shop turns the tables on two robbers caught ransacking the restaurant, the owners actually created a commercial out of the surveillance video, you can see the suspects take the cash register and bolt for the door, the taco shop added subtitles and narrated the men must have been searching for their tacos. another funny truth, the register was empty. surprise! it's been raining all night for many areas but as this moves its way farther north ward, especially for the southeastern part of the state, we'll pick up some hefty rain totals, maybe even thunder out there, new bedford all seeing downpours, mashapee, a wild night and temperatures rising, the downpours moving their way out to the east over the next several hours by tomorrow morning, maybe a lingering shower or two, a lot of clouds and it will be humid outside, and then we'll break in some smins and mid -- sunshine and midday, considering it's december, at this point it's going to be weird, strange, no way around it, just have to embrace it and roll with it. as we head to the evening, the skies start clearing out and start to roll back the temps, low 60s in the morning, already broken the record, 70 in the afternoon, and then as we head toward the evening, in the 60s eventually we fall back in the 50s before midnight.

boston, 71 bedford and lawrence cooler in hyannis, average high for tampa, florida, this time of year. that's how crazy our temperatures are going for us. then we head in to christmas day. and high pressure builds in and this is going to protect us and keep thing fairly quiet, no travel issues in the northeast, not as warm, but still way above the average, temperatures will be in the 50s throughout the day, not too much wind, and parts of southeastern massachusetts could still reach 60 degrees during the afternoon. then we head to the weekend, all right, whole different set of things, 40s on saturday, some showers start to develop. sunday we could set another record high in the low 60s again, a couple chance of showers, then we start to bring in some arctic air for the north on monday, that's going to set up a chance for our first wintry storm of the season, all over the map in the next few days, this weekend, 40s on saturday with a few showers, sunday a high of 61 and then on our accuweather seven day, you see that colder air arriving on monday, and it's tuesday that we're watching, this is the type of storm system that could start
