6:12 am
i think that's probably the limit. i'm not saying we're going to, but that's sort of where i'm thinking we might end up. 5 above 1891. you can see here that, you know, you've got to go back to 2006 to find, you know, in this century this kind of warmth. so amazing. i'll show you another way to look at it. so the first was 1 degree below average. no big deal. these are based on 30-year normals. you take 30 years' worth of decembers and you compare it with what went on. this is what's amazing. the 24th, 25, 27th, 24 degrees above that 30-year average. of course we set the record here on christmas eve in boston, and we tied it in worcester yesterday. so a very warm day. i do think we'll be above average for the next couple of days as well because it's hard to remember, we're supposed to be in the upper 30s to mid-30s
6:13 am
we're not going to be anywhere near it. we're already warmer than we should be for the entire day, so no way we won't be above average today and tomorrow as well. so tomorrow, i just want to focus in, there will be rain in the morning. if you do have plans tomorrow morning that call for you to be outside, you want to moderate them a little bit or modify them, i should say a little bit as we have the rain. high pressure will push offshore. now we have another slug of warmer air, so you'll notice it's cooler today. tomorrow warmer air will try to come into the relatively cooler air. by the way, there's going to be snow. there's winter storm watches up for parts of maine. they are not going to see a lot. in ski country, they get 1 to 3 inches so that helps a little bit. as the rain slug moves through in the morning, then the warm front will come through. depending on where this sets up, if it's well north of us, all of you will be in the 50s and lower 60s. if the front gets hung up around the boston area, which some of the models are saying,

it throws a monkey wrench into everything. it makes it a little interesting. so here we are. let's orient ourselves. there's amarillo, oklahoma's over here. here's albuquerque, new mexico. this goes off the chart. they will get up to 2 feet of snow up here. there's a lot of snow in this storm system that will ride up towards the north and eventually made nothing, nothing, nothing remotely like that, but some of the moisture may play a role around here as we get later on in the week. cooler but still mild. we should be in the upper 30s. we're going to be in the upper 30s and low 50s so we're 10, 12 degrees above 30-year averages. it's going to rain tomorrow morning. it will probably get out of here fairly quickly, then a mixed bag turning to rain. right now, i don't see a plowable storm in southern new

6:36 am
so you have to watch this front tomorrow morning into the early afternoon. it's going to produce the rain. hear we are at 8:00. there's the rain that will give a couple of inches of snow across parts of maine. if the front gets stuck, which they can do this time of the year, then that mild air will only make it, like i said, just south of the pike. if it goes farther north, boston will be 63 degrees again tomorrow. whatever happens there's no doubt that the colder air will rush back in as we head for monday. so there it is. 36 degrees, kerry. that sets us up for the messy weather tuesday morning, as i alluded to. i don't know where the rain/know line is. we'll wait for more data to come in. i gave you trivia questions earlier, and one of the things coming up here, thursday night is new year's eve. back and look. when was the most snow that occurred on new year's eve? i gave you some choices. made up.
