good morning, i'm kathryn hauser. i'm chris mckinnon, we are getting ready for our first snow season, this is the storm heading our way, causing problems in southern states, snow, strong winds, seeing one highway shut down from texas to new mexico, the big question is with can we expect right here at home. pressure is on. a little bit of everything. always the case in new england. we've got snow, a mix that is going to change over and plenty of rain, snow around midnight tonight. plain rain on tuesday, the biggest impact by far tomorrow morning's commute, across the interior and accumulation will generally inch for a lot of us, but 2-4 inches, far northern massachusetts and into new hampshire. temperatures on the cool side though, mid-30s, 39 in boston, mid-30s in the cape, the real

temperatures aren't going to be going up pretty much at all, we may drop a few degrees, chilly breeze, sunrise coming up at 7:13, low to mid-30s and clouds will increase around 30 for your ride home. hour by hour as we take you through the evening and night, after midnight pockets to light pocket of snow develops, gradually working into tomorrow. into boston 8:30-9:00, 36 degrees, plain rain, rain is going to fall hard on the south coast. still pockets of pink on the north and west of boston, that indicating sleet and freezing rain, we'll still create treacherous travel, evening drive looks better, we'll take a look at the accumulation map in gist a couple minutes. of course the salt is all piled up, ready to go, drivers

crews are watching patching up -- patching up major damage, can you see bricks have been spilled on the street, they boarded up part of that building as well. you can actually see that suv sticking out from the side of the wall here, what we know right now, police say the driver was not here on the scene when they arrived, so at this point they are still looking for that person, it's unclear if there was an injure sustained at all, obviously the cafe was not open at the time, it's unclear also as police are able to get any information from that vehicle that ultimately led them to the driver, taking a live look here, again, you can see crews trying to get things in order, this is a sidewalk area from the corner of twist and launch street, quite a bit of work to do here as the owner prepares

fire broke out. police say that mark lavoine is to blame for all the chaos on christmas day. >> i would like you to call us. we don't want anybody getting hurt especially you. >> police stood outside this every home for hours begging the man to come out peacefully. initial reports of shots fired prompted police to respond with a swat team. >> this was boom, and it scared me. >> police tried multiple tactics firing pepper spray. >> it's christmas, we don't want you getting hurt today. >> hands up. >> hours later mark lavoine showed his face, he came out with hands in the air and police made a quick arrest. but the drama didn't end there. >> right when he came out you hear a big boom and the house starting go up in flames. >> the fire erupted, fort flatly no one was hurt.

the men on the second floor of a home, saratoga street in east boston. all three will be arraigned later on today. in other news, hundreds of local bank accounts have been hit by hacker, the quincy credit union is telling customers that thieves targeted their accounts much the quincy credit union president said 670 accounts were hacked in this money broach, the credit union believes thieves put skimmers on atm to hack accounts. >> hopefully they catch the person who is doing it and settle it. >> watching your accounts? >> oh, yeah, definitely, i want to check it when i get home on the computer and see what is wrong with it. hopefully they catch the culprit. >> credit union says all accounts are insured and customers will get their money back. right now police are

suspect they say this man hit a citizens bank yesterday. at the time he was wearing a green than he will jacket and hat with usa on it. 31-year-old matthew martin was wanted by u.s. marshals, martin is accused of robbing several banks in new hampshire and vermont. details about human remains found in uptown, it does not appear to be suspicious, a roll ka hunter found the remains near 200 min den street, the police called it death. chipotle in cleveland circle is back open, the fast food restaurant shut down after an outbreak of norovirus, well over 100 customers were affected, inspectors cleared the location to reopen, opened

temperatures don't rise, maybe by a degree here, the cold wind gusting occasionally, tonight after midnight that areas of snow moves in, temperatures drop back into the 20s and the storm right now is positioned from the ohio valley back down to texas where they dealt with severe weather yesterday and parts the panhandle, back towards dallas, working in our direction over the next 24 hours, where do we go from here, today is dry, no weather related issues. tonight after midnight snow will move in, move ing from south to north, tomorrow late morning to midday, rain and rain along the south coast in through massachusetts, still pockets of freezing rain mixing in, the evening commute will be much better, just some leftover light pockets of rain, wednesday looks like a quiet day.

wednesday afternoon, notice around after midnight one area of snow starts to develop, including boston, the metro west, we had flakes here, quick transition over toward sleet and then plain rain along the south coast. 5:00 a.m. still bursts of moderate snow coming down, snow will start to fall at a steadier clip. 7:00 a.m. starting to make that transition over right in the city of boston back through a lot of the states except for notice by midday, a lot of big water on the road. in the south coast and eastern massachusetts, still pockets of sleet or freezing rain may linger, worcester county, southern new england, all it takes is a trace of sleet or freezing rain to really slicken things up.

kathryn, 4.5 hours after the incident, crews are making decent headway in terms of -- once that suv slammed into this cafe, this call came in just after 2:00 this morning and when police arrived the driver was not here on the scene, was not in the vehicle. so right now they are looking for the driver. police are still investigating and that is the extend of what they will tell us, it's unclear if they are able to get any information from the vehicle that links them to the driver. nonetheless taking a live look, crews have been here working for several hours cleaning up all of the mess made by and suv, slamming into the cafe here. we'll keep you updated on the
