oklahoma felt three earthquakes in the last day. breaking news in boston, authorities are investigating a threat made against the city, jim. >> reporter: i will and, this particular threat actually came into the 911 call center in new york city this morning. the caller not saying anything specific but at the same time making what appears to be multiple threats against the city of boston, police here in boston are aware this alleged threat but the calls lack of specificity makes police here in boston question its credibility, no specific target or time or location was noted. the boston office of the fbi corn if you weres for wbz that federal authorities are also aware of the alleged threat, it came in when someone called in new york police department and made unspecified threat against boston, when the dispatcher on that line asked the caller to get more specific, the caller hung up the phone.

pressure across eastern parts of canada, cold air funneling in. storm system is to the west pushing warm air above our heads that keeps us keep from keeping a pure type of know, certainly cold enough for snow and it will be at the onset. so here is the time line, so we head toward midnight, still seeing flurries starting to break out, first few flakes but most of the steadier snow develops between 1:00 a.m.-3:00 a.m., so some of those first signs of snow that show up on the ray consider won't actually make it down to the ground. then as we head toward tomorrow at 5:30 already starting to see a change to sleet in the boston area all points south and east, and there could be sleet for the onset of cape islands and south coast. you will change over to rain. for all of you in southeastern event for you. so towards 7:00 a.m. across the interior, warmer at the coastline, that is where we

area loft really takes control, so the snow goes away by mid to late morning, it's all sleet and freezing rain, temperatures climbing there into the 40s. as we approach midday it's rain across all of southeastern mass, north shore, in land will be close to the freezing mark, so it's really here, central northern worcester county, middlesex county, southern new hampshire where the highest impact will be. so as we head foot evening, still pockets of freezing drizzle that could make things slick into tomorrow night. in terms of expected snow fall a coat to go a couple inches, not a lot in terms of total snow. it 2-4 across northern massachusetts, new hampshire, central new hampshire with the storm holding on to the snow longer before succumbing to the ice. east slopes of the berkshires, central massachusetts and southwestern new hampshire

quarter inch, you can start to bring down some limbs and create some power outages so that is another aspect we'll be tracking tomorrow. to break it down, quick sleet to rain here across the cape islands, south shore, brief storm to ice, boston area and along the coastline down to providence, snow to ice and then some rain late in the interior, farther north and west all snow and ice, breaking it down, we talk bad that warmer air, if you look at precipitation types, if it's all above freezing you get rain. a little bit of cold air right at the ground you get freezing rain, if that layer is deep enough below freezing you melt the raindrop and then you are going to end up seeing refreeze into ice pellet, all below freezing that is when you get the snow fall, no gusty winds, no flooding all about the snow and ice, by the way, we are still with the warmest december
