found a stash of weapons in his car. not far from gillette stadium. susie steimle is live with a closer look at the charges he faces today. hi. >> reporter: good morning. we know it's matthew brohmson of -- bromeson of connect can you -- bromson who is facing charges because of what police found inside his car. less than a mile from gillette stadium. just before the start of the winter classic hockey game on friday, police had to divert their attention to an employee parking lot at gillette stadium. police say matthew bromson a connecticut man was reportedly acting suspiciously and making threatening comments to people in the parking lot. when they searched his car they found a meat cleaver, samurai sword and stun gun. he was parked in the employee lot, he doesn't work at gillet ye -- gillette.

police officer's cruiser and punching him. this happening just two hours into the new year. >> i think that the guy was drunk. and he had way too much alcohol and was not in control of himself. >> reporter: the cell fon video released to the immediatia by boston police shows the 23 year -- media by boston policeshows the 23-year-old and yew doughman continuously throwing punches. the attack lasted 45 seconds and they say bowman approached the cruiser and yelled out you heard about the war right and began to punch the officer in the face. he returned punches before he radioed for help. bowman ran away but was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer causing injury. >> the cop responded will due to everything that was happening. >> i feel like there's been a lot of sort of something going on between police and citizens in general. >> reporter: and bowman is

expected to be arraigned in boston municipal court later this morning. reporting live, wbz news. >> thank you very much. 6:05. a lawrence man will be in court today accused of dragging a state trooper during a traffic stop. police say that the driver took off on i-93 south yesterday morning while the trooper had his arm in the car. lookly the trooper was not hurt. this -- luckily the trooper was not hurt. a teen is in critical condition after a shooting in everett. the victim was found early sunday morning under the tileson street overpass. middlesex da's office is investigating. an armed militia has taken control of a national wildlife refuge in oregon protesting a judge's reeling to send two ranchers back to jail. 73-year-old dwight hammond and his 46-year-old son stevelen turn themselves over to police today. both served time for burning federal land. judge ruled sentences were too

temperatures in the lower 30s right now 31 in boston but we are in the 20s north a west of town right now. only in the teens in springfield. 6 degrees in burlington colder air will be draining southward during the course of the day today with the wind increasing from the north. notice the temperatures below zero from sudden bury to can -- sudbury to canada. and snow showers through the great lakes. flurry awrong the 495 and mass turnpike and we will see are some ocean effect snow showers that start to ramp up here during the course of late morning and afternoon. so what we will see is that colder air blowing over the relatively warmer water and ocean effect develops and we get a couple bands that may set up in far eastern massachusetts through the evening hours the bands will continue and the cape and islands into early tomorrow morning.
