southbound lanes could be closed for 4 to 5 hours and the northbound side could be shut down up to two hours and one person was hurt and it's not clear how serious the person's injuries are. the weather. you are going to feel it an arctic blast of air moving through new england along with it snow and flurries and danielle is here and how much in. >> eastern massachusetts whoa could get scattered coatings and the jackpot region is where the ocean effect bands set up. we have been following in -- falling in terms of the temperatures. midnight was the high for the day at 35 in boston. by 6 a.m. we dropped to 31. now in the 20s and we will continue to fall through the afternoon dipping into the teens as we head into overnight tonight and by tomorrow morning. so the real feel forecast by the time we get to tomorrow, it's going to be subdiseuro ---- zero. single digits coming into the city itself.

faces charges for attacking a police officer who was trying to help him. authorities say around 3 in the morning on new year's day officers found him in the driveway when the officer asked if he needed help police say that the man attacked. punching the officer in the throat and choking him. so he is being held on 500,000 dollars bail. police avested man in qeax late night stabbing. police say after midnight a man was found bleeding from the chest officers then arrested william griffin of new brain tree. he is now facing assault and battery charges. the victim was taken to the hospital with nonlife- threatening injuries. a lawrence man will be in court today accused of dragging a state troopers during a traffic stop. police say the driver took off on 93 south yesterday morning while the trooper had his arm in the car. the trooper was not hurt. >> today a connecticut man is facing a weapons charges after

this stash of weapons at gillette stadium susie steimle has the story. >> reporter: matthew bromson seemed relatively unphased of courts as he list -- court as he listened to the charges he has a lengthy criminal history which made it easy to be held on a high a bail. as from thes cougs rattled off the list of charges against matthew bromson he had an uncommon reaction smiling and laughing and shaking his head in court. he is here because police found a cache of weapons in his car. friday was the morning of the winter classic hockey game and witness say he showed up in the parking lot drunk and saying he wanted to party and scalp a ticket. they saw him placing items on people's windshields. >> defense is i did it because i am just like santa claus. >> reporter: witnesses told police they thought he pointed a rifle in their direction.

window what he was doing and at that time the defendant located 25 yards from their spots and he was loading his gun. >> reporter: when police searched his car they found a samurai sword, stun gun and meat cleaver and a hand full of other weapons. given his lengthy criminal history in massachusetts and connecticut, the judge ordered him held on 7500 and 10,000 cash bail for the multiple charges. bromson will undergo a mental health evaluation and there are charges pending against him in connecticut but he didn't waive his right to extradition and connecticut police will have to come here on january 27th to present the charges and potentially bring him back to connecticut. live, susie steimle. >> thanks very much. the president and ceo of the company now delivering the boston globe says it could be four to six months before delivery service will get back to normal.

to a stand off with a armed militia group that has taken john blackstone reports. >> reporter: at the occupied compound protesters are settling in for the long haul. ammon bundy says they are fight back against the government's expansion of the over 100-year- old federal wildlife refuge at the expeps pens of local ranchers. >> there's been tremendous abuse and they used the courts to prosecute and basically take the land and resources away from the people. >> reporter: back in 2014, bundy's father was embroiled in the dispute with federal officials over grazing rights on federal land in nevada. that escalated into an armed confrontation. this group set up camp saturday after a march in a nearby town in support of two ranchers. >> yeah.

welcome back. federal investigators are considering launching another search a find the missing black boxes from the el faro wreckage. >> this as we get the first look at the final resting place of the ship. it went down in october in the middle of hurricane joaquin. the captain intended to steer around the storm. but the ship lost engine power during the hurricane. 33 crew members several from new england were lost at sea and the ntsb released video of the ship at the bottom of the ocean and bermuda triangle showing the top of the ship sheered off. investigators became emotional when speaking with 60 minutes. >> to see the violence of the sea and the winds that would have had to occur to cause that kind of shock, to cause that kind of an event. >> because certainly there would have been people on the bridge. >> yes. >> investigators say they are

we may get pockets of rain that could mix with some snow or ice the weekend. we will keep you posted on that. check this out, boston the real feel is 13 right now. burlington vermont 14 below zero so it's much colder in morning new england but the cold air has been draining and winds picking up. the temperatures. so that kind of gives you perspective as well just what the wind does. 31 when you come back down towards taunton and almost couple different areas of snow one that's been moving in from southwest to northeast with upper level energy coming through. another one with the band of snow there's the ocean effect just starting to take shape hereoftentimes that ends up with a localized band so a lot of eastern massachusetts has been in and out of light snow andflurries as well and that continues through the mid to late afternoon. should be pretty localized down towards plymouth county and the cape heading into evening and overnight tonight.

highest totals. one city or town may see a dusting and another may see one or two more inches and locally higher amounts possible. expect snowfall here general coating for a lot of us in eastern massachusetts possible up to 4 inches in spots in the cape where the bands set up 1 to 3 and this is a fluffy snowfall here. easy to move around and can slick roadways. overnight tonight, look at the readings, 13 is where we go to boston. this is coldest we have had since the beginning of march. so it has been a while. single digits north and west of town. and highs tomorrow don't get out of the mid to upper 20s. but you can't forget the wind. by the way the wind won't being a strong tomorrow but will make a impact. real feel is going to be in the single digits above and below zero heading into overnight tonight and tomorrow morning we are waking up to wind chills around zero for the morning commute and teens heading throughout the afternoon.
