at6. behind meow can see it's a traffic jam of emergency vehicles and emergency personnel pour into the industrial park here in north andover where they are focused on the dow chemical plant over this rise right here. could fit more vehicles up here all night affair. 2:30 this afternoon it was powerful explosion here at the plant. triggered by the heating of the chemical try methel aluminium and we don't have more specifics on that. but the blast was fourful enough it did plenty of damage and sparked a chemical fire and injured four workers. three of those workers thought to be in critical condition were rushed to lawrence general and med flighted to boston hospitals to mgh and one brigham and women's and a fourth apparently in critical condition remains atlawrence general.

massive response. crews in protective suits can be seen going and coming from the building as workers huddled in front. one came by and said simply that he heard a loud explosion. most of the others declined to speak. we are told by official there's there's no chemical cloud or anything of that nature and interestingly back in 2013 there was also a fatal chemical explosion here involving the chemical trimethylindium so a different chemical than what we are hearing today. in that instance a worker was burned over 50% of his body and was killed. we are expecting a news conference here from state fire marshal stephen cohen and local fire official to give us a update on what happened this afternoon. we will bring it to you live. ken macleod, wbz news. >> thank you. also breaking wall streetseeing the worst drop in three months.

watching right now a very spotent storm off to the south and east curled up. weather is game of miles and if it's 150 miles further west the east coast have woo have a different weather story it may have a name become a named tropical system over the next 48 hours and if that were the case it would be alex and has not been a named tropical system in january since 1978. we have been living on the fringe provide agonize sunset. cirrus clouds moving over the state. temperatures pretty comfortable in the 30s for the most part and starting to see a few 20s show up across northern worcester county and southwestern new hampshire. not a chilly night everyone below freezing. 18 to 25 for most suburbs and boston down to about # 1 and partly cloudy skies. -- 31 and part cowedy -- cloudy skies -- cloudy skies. the moisture moves in and is trapped under the dry air and we will have fog and low clouds moving in during the day tomorrow. there's just enough moisture and it's not going to be lot,

freeze on surfaces around the region. so that's going to be the main concern from friday morning through the afternoon into friday night and even into the day on saturday. not a lot actually falling. but just enough moisture to make things slick. so high temperatures tomorrow you notice above freezing here eastern massachusetts southeastern mass no icing concerns. once you get outside of 95, this is where we could have pockets of subfreezing air especially in the morning that could create a few icy areas. so what we are watching here is a little spotty drizzle in green and as you move into the pink zone that could freeze on contact and this is all through the day tomorrow and into tomorrow night and saturday. so a long duration events that doesn't add up to a lot but causes the potential of hazardous travel so i urge caution tomorrow morning into saturday. we could see a few snowflakes mixing in on saturday morning as the air cools down a little bit more. gray skies to start the weekend. and a much more significant storm moves in on sunday and this one is much warmer. it's going to bring a plume of 50s into southern new england
