per hour. but there's a wide range of temperatures from the teens in lawrence. 17 in taunton but a little milder from places like marshfield to chatham which are running in the lower 40s right now. too. boston and varying amounts of clouds out there. we have a deck of clouds pushing off the ocean but clear skies in between as well. more clouds to the east. so these will fill in and win out at times today. so don't expect the bright sunshine like we had yesterday. 30s at the coast. and 40s. 20s through rush hour. lunchtime 39 with variable clouds and maybe a couple patches of drizzle developing at the coastline into the ride home. the weekend forecast well above average. 40s tomorrow and there could be a light freezing rain mx across the interior tomorrow morning and we will talk about that and time out the areas of rain on sunday coming up. let's get you on the roads with traffic and weather together robi.

accident south of the city right now that's having an impact on the morning commute. right now. from the traffic camera over theexpressway near the gas tank is an accident with injuries on the expressway northbound. the off-ramp to morrisy boulevard exit 14 is close heed now it's a one car traffic network. one ambulance is on the scene and emergency equipment. so the right lane is taken right now. seeing a heavy bumper to bumper backup to in a ponceit circle. >> thanks very much. this morning investigators will be back on the scene of a chemical explosion in north andover several workers were seriously injured. and investigators say they were working with a chemical used in l.e.d. lights. >> let's get to nicole jacobs live in north andover with the latest. good morning nicole. >> reporter: good morning to you chris. at last check investigators were not able to get in the actual laboratory where this explosion happened.

when they return here this morning at 10 a.m. it was thursday, around 2:30 in the afternoon a blast could be heard for miles. >> i heard a loud boom and the house shook and again my dog barked went crazy and i went and looked out my back window. >> reporter: that revealed the dow chemical plant in andover. >> it was chemical reactive to water. and for some reason that we will come -- that will come out as part of the investigation the chemical reacted with water which resulted in the explosion. >> reporter: four workers from injured. taken to lawrence general. boston hospitals. >> what the patients has was blast injuries from the pressure of the explosion and chemical onl their bodies they well. >> reporter: this was a similarscene to 2013 when anotherexplosion killed another employee. >> it was a totally different type of chemical and it was a

>> reporter: but still so many questions as this investigation continues. dow chemical officials released a statement that reads in part our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and colleagues during this extremely difficult time. and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident. again, investigators are expected to return here this morning at 10. perhaps then they will be able to get in the laboratory to further the investigation. for now live in north andover nicole jacobs wbz this morning. >> thank you. right now the search is onto find a suspect involved in a stabbing. susie steimle is live in braintree and police say the incident may have started as a case of road rage. >> reporter: yeah. it was right near south shore plaza chris. that's where the fight between the two men started and one ended up in the hospital with stab wounds and police are

>> scariest thing i ever seen. >> reporter: dan sheehan and his friend josh ledger saw flashing lights and ran over with a camera to capture the scene. >> that's him on the ground. >> and we heard him scream. >> reporter: a randolph man was stabbed several times after an apparent road rage incident. >> someone said that he was actually like walking in the street with blood covered all over him and he went to the grass and he people was warming him up and first couple police cars showed up. >> reporter: thursday afternoon near granite and forbes road outside south shore plaza, two drivers got into some kind of an altercation. the van pulled over and the driver of a honda was stabbed and the other man took off. moments later police began their investigation. >> they started taping everything off and was look up and down the streets. >> reporter: the stabbing victim was conscious in the hospital. police interviewed him last night in hopes they will track down a suspect soon. police are still calling this a very active investigation at this hour.

well into the evening last night trying to pick up any evidence that might help them track down this man's car. wbz this morning. >> thanks very much. 5:06. state police arrest a man they say led them on a chase from dennis all the way to middlebor row. officers say he then threatened to harm others and police thought he was armed. once he came to a stop troopers found a fake handgun inside the car. developing overnight police make two terrorism related arrest here in the u.s. both way lemed ties to isis. bree is here with a closer look at that good morning. >> reporter: good morning. the suspects will be arraigned today in federal court. the department of justice says both arrests came out of the same multistate probe. they are iraqi refugees living in sacramento and houston. but cbs news reports the pair may have been connected in some way. court documents reveal the 23-

communicated over social media with an unnamed individual living in texas back in 2013. and in one exchange the two allegedly discussed training and fighting overseas. the texas person identified as individual one writes i need expertise and sacramento suspect they say responds, if you arrive and i am still there i will train you. a criminal complaint unsealed thursday accuses the sacramento man of traveling to syria from the u.s. and back again after fighting alongside a terror organization then lying to investigators about that trip. authorities say the iraqi citizen originally came to the u.s. as a refugee in 2012. >> this is an individual who is committed to going back home and as an iraqi to fight what he perceives is corrupt and thor teary regimes.

to isis. in 2009 he was a refugee but was granted permanent resident status in 2011. arrest in milwaukee. that's connected to the sacramento man but at this point they describe it only as criminal and not a risk to national security. meanwhile, the white house wants silicone valley to help and other terrorists. today, attorney general loretta lynch fbi direct and director of national intelligence will meet with leaders from major tech and internet companies. cathen back to you. >> thank you. also breaking news in the investigation into the paris terror attacks. officials are releasing details about evidence found in a brussels apartment. investigators found handmade belts that could be used to carry explosives and materials to make explosives and the fingerprint of fugitives. prosecutors say the apartment was rented under a false identity that may have been

connection to the paris attacks. also this morning, police in paris investigating after a man tried to attack a police station. this happened yesterday morning on the first anniversary of the charlie hebdo attacks. police say that man what meat cleaver and was wearing a fake explosive vest. officer shot and killed him. they are trying to determine if he is part of a terror cell. the u.s. navy is keeping a close eye on north korea after the country claimed successfully detonating a hydrogen bomb. commander of the fleet says the navy has ships in the area of the peninsula and is monitoring. chinese stocks regained some of the ground it lost. chinese government shut down the market again yesterday to keep stocks from falling but analyst say that's -- analysts say that's fueling the instability. the dow dropped 400 points yesterday jill wagner will have more in about 30 minutes.

the rain is going to be heavy at times. totals will mainly be between a half an inch and an inch and a half but there may be locally higher amounts. record warmth too. mid-50s to set new marks and we may do it in some communities particularly south of the mass picas we head into sunday. and meantime, this morning there's a wide range in 20s and 30s. it's 30 in boston and only 13 in concord new hampshire. 15 in nashua mid 20s throot merrimack valley and look at southeastern massachusetts. 17 in taunton and 41 in marshfield. i put the wind hours so it's about the wind direction coming in off the relatively warmer water. we have been able to warm up a little bit all relative of course. 42 on nantucket right now. satellite and radar is pretty quietch the radar quiet right now. but the saturday -- quiet. the radar is quiet right now but the satellite shows a deck of clouds moving in and more clouds filling in at times today. moisture to the west the only

with is patchy drizzle later this afternoon and evening. tonight and into tomorrow morning, there may be just a light wintry mix of freeingdrizzle outside of 495. it would be so light it won't be a big concern but it's something to watch tomorrow morning and there may be a couple slick spots developing on anything that's untreated where we dip below freeing. otherwise, an -- freezing. otherwise an isolated shower can't be ruled out tomorrow but most of tomorrow will be dry. it's sunday the rain moves in and it comes in during the morning hours and it rains hard sunday afternoon into the evening. wraps up after that. and monday, cold front crosses the region and that will mean falling temperatures through the 30s on monday. so be prepared for that for the start of next week. in the meantime, hour by hour notice there's just a little green. i started things late afternoon through the evening. so a little patchy drizzle or stray shower can't be ruled out and with temperatures right around that 32 degree mark, techly in the suburbs that's why we may see a little bit of morning.

eastern massachusetts is dry but by late morning, the rain moves in and it's going to rain hard. sunday afternoon evening and wrapping up from west to east. and rainfall totals do end up in the half inch to an inch and a half rain in the blue shading. there may be a little bit of a higher amount when you get into localized heavier bands. today's highs, up around 40. tomorrow, into the 40s we go. and just want to show you sunday quickly. look at this. into the 50s record warmth possible but it will come with the rain of course. monday, much colder with falling temperatures and the clouds increase on tuesday and we will have a chance of snow in on wednesday and staying thursday. i had a blast yesterday with the 5th graders at the sheehan school in westwood. they had a ton of energy and i have to say they were very smart knew a lot about the weather and we had so much fun. look at that. basketball. it's just so much fun to be out with the kids traffic and

in the 20s in a lot of spots. a wide range in temperatures this morning. and i do think there will be a little sunshine still as we head into the end of school but temperatures will be up in the upper 30s to around 40. it's 40 right now in chatham. and that is wide range i was talking about. 30 in boston and only in the teens. nashua to keene and 25 in lawrence and a little real feel nashua 8 degrees and 22 at logan airport for the wind chill and notice the radar is pretty quiet but it's the satellite that's shading on the map that shows the deck of clouds that's moved in. so one of them expanding across worcester but more moisture out of the ocean. it will be mostly cloudy at rising through the 20s. temperatures in the 30s and 40s at the coast. variable cloud cover upper 30s by your midday lunp and a few patches of drizzle that develop late in the day. particularly at the coastline with the sun seat 4:29. we will time out the rain for sunday hour by hour coming up let's get you on the road. traffic and weather together.

>> reporter: another accident south of the city. let's pop up the map an earlier crash on the expressway northbound that forced a shut down at moreiesy boulevard that reopened and residual backups are gone but now 128 southbound just before the braintree split a backup that looks like to about route 37. to the north only slow downs reported are on 93 southbound kathryn. >> thanks very much. morning. checking our top stories now, this morning investigators will be back at the site of a chemical explosion in north andover. four people from dow chemical are seriously hurt. the explosion happened yesterday afternoon. we are told employees were working with a chemical that is a key ingredient in making l.e.d. lights. but it's volatile and reacted with water. a deadly accident happened at the same location in 2013 but the state's fire marshal says the two incidents are not related.

say they have arrested two men in two different states both with ties to isis. a man in california is accused of traveling to syria to fight with terrorists. and lying to investigators about it. a second man living in texas has been indicted on charges of trying to provide material support to extremists. a secret service agent determined to walk again after a crash in new hampshire left him paralyzed. now his fiancee is speaking out about their journey. bree has more on the story. hi. >> reporter: good morning chris. this couple has been together for 9 years. and they are planning a march wedding a week and a half ago joan lyall got a phone call from her fiancee that changed her life in it was garrett on the other end telling me-- hive. >> it was garrett on other -- life. >> it was garrett on other end. >> reporter: joan lyall's fiancee was in a accident and she was hours away. >> i knew i needed to get there. >> reporter: garrett fitzgerald

strikes sparked the flames on wednesday. >> the kind of cable that caused an explosion at crowded rhode island beach last summer may be buried under beaches harbors and waterways around the country. investigators believe the explosion at salty bryant beach in narragansett was caused by hydrogen that built up around a croweded coast guard cable. there are a total of 48 sites and 12 states where coast guard can't say for sure the similar cables have been removed. the only way to know for sure is to dig. a big media shake up in boston. and nbc announcing it will pull the affiliation with whdh channel 7. they will launch a new station and nbc boston on january 1st, 2017. the new nbc station will air over the air on channel 60 which is currently telemundo. this means nbc programming will no longer air on channel 7. sun beam television which owns whdh

in from the new hampshire into eastern massachusetts. clouds had win out and there may be a couple patches of drizzle that develop especially at the coastline as we increase the low level moisture. so as we head into the overnight tonight, the problem is that temperatures cool off to at or below freezing in some of the suburbs. so with that, there may be just a couple slick spots that develop and then light freezing drizzle we get early tomorrow morning. all it takes is a trace to slicken roads. tomorrow we will stay mostly cloudy but mostly dry. and can't rule out a isolated shower but here comes the rain moving in on sunday and rains hard and pushes out by sunday evening and colder airstreams into the peckture next week. so -- picture next week. so i will mage through saturday. a couple green blips up here so saturday morning, maybe a few areas of light freezing drizzle during the saturday nighttime frame we start to warm up. so a stray shower is possible and sunday morning, far eastern massachusetts dry at 7 a.m.

to late morning for moat of us and the heaviest rain -- most of us and the heaviest rain is sunday afternoon into the early evening hours and then we will taper off the rain from southwest to northeast sunday between let's say the 8 to 10 p.m. time frame. so how much rain is going to fall? most of us end up in the blue area. that's about a half an inch to an inch and half. there may be locally higher amounts and there may be isolated rumble of thunder sunday afternoon as it comes in and will dry again the warm air as well. so today, we come up around 40 of town. tomorrow into 40s we go but it's the morning hours that we around freezing. look at the highs on sunday. 53 in boston. we could be close to 60 when you come south of the pike back down to the cape. warmth. a lot of records to beat are the mid-50s on monday and the wend will be gusty. we may see gusts 40 to 50 miles per hour on sunday afternoon. and accu-weather seven-day falling temperatures on monday
