to columbia road will take 10 minutes and 128 southbound hangs up between 37 and the split. kathryn. >> thank you very much. new this morning, chelsea high school will be opened today despite a bomb threat. the school tells us that they believe it's a hoax but additional security is going to be in place throughout the day. the building and surrounding campus was serredch -- searched by the state police bomb squat and k-9 units. the school is kg anyone withing in -- asking anyone with information to contact police. a west boylston teacher put on administrative leave accused of sending an inappropriate message to a student. we will have the latest on the investigation and what police plan to do today with nicole jacobs in a moment. but first new concerns for the patriots as they prepare chiefs. we are learning rob gronkowski suffered a knee injury but hurt his back. >> gronk missed practice and multiple reports say he was at a boston hospital getting treatment on his right knee.

they say the student involved initially went to a staff person at west boylston middle high school and then to police. the west boylston police chief says a male student accused a male teacher of contacting him with enappropriate messages -- enappropriate messages. -- inappropriate messages. according to police all party involved have been interviewed including the student's parents. the school superintendent placed the teacher on administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing. both police and the da's office are investigating. we are told today that they will request a warrant to search the teacher's home. in the satellite center nicole jacobs wbz this morning. >> thanks very much. now to campaign 2016. gloves came off last night. it was over two weeks until the iowa caucuses the 7 leading republican presidential candidates faced off at debate in south carolina. political analyst jon keller look at the big moments. >> at end of the day we need to unite behind the winner to defeat hillary clinton. >> reporter: jeb bush found no

the blue mixing in indicating wet snowflakes and a little bit of freezing rain initially too with temperatures below freeing early in the morning saturday. and then temperatures start to increase enough so that we will have all rain and continuing in boston and especially south of the mass pike north of massachusetts here once we get into the higher elevations again chance for some wet snow mixing in with the rain. but then, everything clears out and we dry off and maybe a lingering shower or two and later saturday evening but we are dry for the patriots game. here's the deal for saturday storm. hooks like some freezing rain first and wet snow. and once you get outside 495 mainly rain inside 495 and for areas south of east. projected rainfall through saturday night. and half an inch to ionch and a half. lots of standing water and puddles as we get into the weekend. but saturday afternoon, yes we dry off and sunday much better into weekend. and more sunshine and 35 degrees. and it looks like temperatures

let's face it for those of house are not avid skeet skiers or skaters january is the dreariest time of the year but since the second year of the belichick era january has been party time with the pats in the playoffs every year except 2008 the year tom brady got hurt and missed the season. in the past 12 years, the pats have played multiple weekend in january 10 times. each week they play is filled with anticipation of the game, shopping and other preps for game day and the parties themselves. bringing families and friends and complete strangers and even people who otherwise couldn't care less about football toth in a joyous community celebration. the benefits of this can't be overstated. bars, restaurants, and supermarkets making killing. a people who otherwise might not be inclined so go out -- to gout are doing so with the related economic benefits. people are a. have a hot topic to discuss that brings us together a special gift in an

the pats. star tightend rob gronkowski injury. we know he has a knee injury but we learned he hurt his back. espn adam schefter and mike reese says he missed practice yesterday getting treatment on the right knee. they say the pats think gronk will be able to play against the chiefs tomorrow but will feels tomorrow. also patriots defensive end chandler jones apologizing for what he is calling a stupid mistake. jones didn't offer any details on what actually happened. but, foxboro police say he walked into the police department sunday was acting strange and taken to the hospital. officers say when they searched the home they smelled burnt marijuana.despite the jones drama and gronk news fans are pumped. >> susie steimle is live on the field this morning and is excited too. >> reporter: these are pats fancied the start of the

billerica pond when a pup chased a squirrel on thin ice. mya was off the leash when she got into trouble at veterans memorial park. the ice broke and the owner called 911. he was going to jump in himself to get her out when firefighters arrived. they pulled the pit bull rottweiler mix out and she was checked out by the vet and she is back home and doing all right this morning. >> the pesky squirrels. i am telling you dogs are gone. >> gone. >> sometimes i am hike maybe you -- like maybe you can chime the tree because he goats nuts and jumps so high and it's like whoa. >> another chilly start and you have skiers forecast ive looking to hit the slopes. >> things are looking -- forecast for those look to hit the slopes. >> things are looking better. temperatures around freezing and bitter cold for monday. 16 dough grows the high temperature but -- degrees the high temperature. snow showers likely for saturday around freezing sunday dry 28 degrees and monday a little harsh with the wind

but more snow showers second. expected. expected. no snow from the sky as opposed to yesterday when we had the light snow showers and a few flurries. not the case today. starting off with a thin layer of clouds in boston. 27 degrees. hour by hour, we jump to 33 degrees by 11. and 37 for the rest of the afternoon and peaking at a high of 38 degrees in boston. and the 40s to the south and some 30s to the north and west and we have mid-40s and upper 40s on the cape and island and fantastic forecast for us as we wrap up the workweek. we keep it dry through the evening. overnight, low temperatures will be in the 30s mid-30s and upper 30s to the south and east and including boston. and right where we have the freezing mark right here lawrence and worcester freezing conditions overnight and to the north and west. that's where we will be watching the chance for some freezing rain before turning to rain overnight. here's the hour by hour timing 11 p.m. starting here after midnight showers move in along the south coast and we see more rain

again freezing rain potentially in western and central massachusetts and especially new hampshire. after 5 a.m., we start to see more of a wintry mix. wet snowflakes giant snowflakes mixing in especially in higher elevation berkshires and 8 a.m.continuing on through the morning and worcester hills could see wet snowflakes by noon temperatures well warm enough that we will experience rain around boston. and rain for foxboro. out tailgating nice and early. the rain will let up prior to game time and by a kick off. and it looks to be dry. thank goodness. but, chilly temperatures to deal with in foxboro. saturday's storm looking like mainly rain for us in boston and inside 495. freezing rain with a brief period of wet snow making in saturday and mainly snow once you get into the mountains. projectd rainfall through saturday evening half an into have a inch and a half of rain. standing water and puddles as we get into later part of saturday.
