>> that's to be prepared. we should note aid close call whether we get a direct hit or glancing blow. let's go to the expert danielle niles here with a closer look at the forecast. we wonder how it will go. >> looks like the mid atlantic will get the brunt of the storm in terms of jackpot snowfall and the time frame for us is later on saturday. there's been indication that we may hold off the snow until saturday afternoon or potentially into the evening. and it would last into sunday before tapering off. the location for the jackpot mid atlantic to here in southern new england. this is not a northern new england or north country ski storm. the track is going to be likely south and east of nantucket. the question is how close does it come and because there is a full moon that means the tides are going to be astronomically high. even if the storm passes offshore, we get some of the onshore winds that may kick up the seas and the surf heading

in and a gun battle began. military officers say the attackers have been contained. and four have been killed. so far no one claimed responsibility for the attack. also this morning schools are opened today back here at home as the fbi investigates bomb threats in nearly two dozen communities. all of the threats have turned out to be hoaxes. >> it's been a very frustrating few days for parents and students as you can imagine. the untraceable phone threats are happening a distrcts across the state. 7 schools on friday and then-- districts across the state. yesterday. schools were swept by police and deemed safe. in other towns hike arlington students were sent home early. police are look to see if the threats are connected and parents are worried. >> it's scary and you have to take it serious. >> we found out through a phone call and the kids didn't know so it was scary knowing that happened and they were still there.

in new jersey and maryland. police say bomb threats are serious business. you can get up to 20 years in jail and a 50,000 dollar fine. an unconscious man pulled from his burning home in scituate. fire broke out before 8 last drive. firefighters couldn't get inside to the man because of clutter inside the home. hospital. he was last checked in serious condition. we continue following developing news from hawaii. coast guard is suspending the search for 12 missing marines. coral christopher orhando is among those missing. it's now a recovery mission. marines why flying in two helicopters that crashed last week over 5 days searching crews recovered 4 empty life rafts and debris from the choppers but no signs of the marines. officials say the decision to suspend the search was

something that works, let it alone. thanks very much we will see you next hour. >> i don't know. >> the drizzle of the chocolate was precise. >> it didn't look good in the picture too. i don't know. anyway we need to check the weather. so many people talking about this weekend but this morning we are dealing with choald. >> it's still chilly but the the cold air will be if place the next couple days. that's something we haven't had from storms earlier this season with a lock of cold air coming in and it's going to be quiet until then but it's about the wind gusting over 20 miles per hour still this morning these are the wind gusts 30 mice per hour in worcester and vineyard and nantucket. and that's creating a real feel 6 in the city of boston and 3 below in worcester and single digit readings in manchester and to the cape. the real feel through the afternoon won't be as cold as yesterday. it's going to be chilly, but the wind won't be gusting over 50 miles per hour like in spots yesterday.

going feel like the upper teens and lower 20s as the highs come up to around 30 degrees. we will seementy of sunshine today. now there's snow from chicago back down to kentucky and tennessee right now. this is not our weekend storm. this is going to pass to the south. our storm the energy from it is just coming in to the pacific northwest right now. it's going to come through the rockies and develop into a storm in the southeastern united states. so until then we are quiet. sunshine today, sunshine again tomorrow and it will be breezy and friday the clouds will increase. there's going to be areas of rain towards the gulf and we will tap the gulf of mexico for moisture and a storm is going to redevelop off the carolina coastline and bring areas of snow on northwest side. jackpot for the storm looks to be the mid atlantic where they may see over a foot of snow but we get fringed by the storm as it passes likely somewhere south and east of nantucket saturday night into early on sunday.

it's wednesday so we still have several days to time this out. but the risk of probable snow increases the farther sow you get because it will pass to the south. the highest risk is from just south of boston back down along the south coast. depending on how close it gets we may get a mixing that occurs in the outer cape or nantucket so it's moderate risk and the farther north you go there's going to be very sharp cut off to the northern edge of the precipitation. we may have to squeeze all this down in through southern new england. the farther north you get, this may be a little or no snow event for parts of central and northern new england. quiet until then though so there's no chance of precipitation today. we will be up around 30 degrees so not quite as cold as yesterday. tonight back into the teens and right around 30 again tomorrow too the wind afternoons today
