a super hero we are not entirely sho>> looks fishy. >>i don't know. >> i feel foolish. >> i don't know you brought it to light. >> and you are been looking into all things weather. >> veries abouty week watching the trends to see how things -- very busy week watching the trends to see how things are going. we could see a impact so we will start in the near term cold outside and a little better today the in the low 30s and 20s in central massachusetts as well a as north shore a chilly night in the teens across many of the cushes and 19 in downtown boston. we will see increasing cloudiness as well and the winds still there adding a bit of wind chill but not as bad as it has been. for tomorrow you know it's repeat performance what he have had all week and it's january coldest time of the year usually. and we have got temperatures in the 20s and it will be blustery a lot of sunshine and winds out of the northwest at 10 to 20 a few higher gusts mixed in and for the evening sunset at 4:44 as we climb a little closer to the 5:00 hour getting a little
5:47 pm
sun climbing higher in the sky every day. in terms of the wind gusts couple of them over 20 miles per hour during the overnighttomorrow morning and through the day tomorrow. so we have gotten accustomed to feeling the wind and tomorrow will be another one. turn our attention to the developing storm system. energy for it is cascading down the front rage of the rockies and trailing done along the end of the cold and move its way up the eastern seaboard. plenty of cold in place so that many are going to deal with a snowstorm that will be little rain this time around compared to the storms this wint are season. by tomorrow we are looking at heavy thunderstorms across the gulf coast and as it runs into the cold and big icing event in north carolina. the snow line will move up into washington, d.c. on friday afternoon and then notice what happens. the storm is very old at this point by saturday afternoon. and we see that snow presidenting -- spreading out along the northern edge and it runs up to the coast and about stops. so we are still right on the edge here and that keeps ace way from the big snow totals. but an early estimate three days out and this subject to
5:48 pm
and the best chance of seeing a half foot snow total is in southeastern massachusetts. southern rhode island and southern connecticut. but there's going to be a really sharp cut off here. we are talking a line where you have snow and no snow. and so that line might go farther south or a little farther north and more likely south and once you head north, very low impact here i think north of the park northern massachusetts and north shore into new hampshire we won't see a significant snow impact andbiggest total in the mid atlantic and plans down towards new york and philly and dc and richmond and charlotte they will have a big shut down as we head through the weekend. timeline for the snow here afternoon and evening we will see some of that move up toward the south coast and cape. best chance for snowfall is saturday night and winding down early on sunday morning. we will have strong east northeastern winds and saturday night is the main part for the winds and gusts 45 to 65 miles per hour and once you move farther northward having a
5:49 pm
feel colder but not really having any damaging concerns to deal with us. then 2 tide saturday night and sunday morning and both are high because we have a full moon on saturday. and we will have onshore winds there's a chance for minor coastal flooding at least and erosion for any east facing beaches. all this is departing on sunday morning and we will get into the sunshine with highs near 30 and we are into the 30s on monday and a chance for rain showers by tuesday. so we will keep an eye on this over the next couple days and as we have been saying i wouldn't cancel plans at this point for the weekend. i think we will able to manage it. >> that's what people want to hear. oscar winner jammy foxx place a new unscripted roll of -- role of hero pulling a driver from a burning truck after the driver crashed close to his home in california. >> tonight john blackstone shows us the emotional meeting that foxx had with the father of the man he saved. >> i don't look at it as heroic i look at it as like you know, just had to do something.
