kind of right there behind us. >> a massive storm. >> yeah. >> it's huge and the thing is this morning when i look at that radar shot i get excited as a meteorologist. >> i know you do. >> number one but number two it's impressive because the snow is coming into virginia and there's thunderstorms and energy with this thing and it looks like we will be on the edge still. so there's been no change to our thinking. >> you are noting there's every color on the spectrum got the pinks and purpose pumpels and blues. >> lightning. >> yeah. we have got severe weather in the gulf coast right now. and we have got ice advancing through the carolinas. so, this is going to be an impressive storm and it's creating issues out across the mid atlantic as the snow advances in. what does it mean for us? the mid atlantic will get blasted. major travel destruction from new york to charlotte. the main impact is the south coast and cape in terms of snow and winds. we are watching the coastline with the full moon and leading to minor coastal flooding for

so in terms of timeline today is quiet we get an increase in wispy clouds and tomorrow morning is quiet too. snow is advancing through new york city at that point. and the snow advances in for us from south to north during the afternoon and evening. this may be a little quick on the timing but you get the idea here conditions will deteriorate during the evening tomorrow with the height of the storm. tomorrow night into very early on sunday. notice north of the mass new hampshire border little if any snow. by sunday morning leftover snow lighter at that . and we will taper off by late morning and the sun will be shining and in terms of snowfall totals, it's little if anything north and west of boston. coating to 2 inches from essex county including the city of boston and worcester woeful may be near the two inch amount and two to five from the south shore back down to the cape. i wouldn't be surprised depending on the track that we see higher totals near 7, 7 inches along the south coast of bristol and back to the cape. we have a lot to talk about but

pressed the accelerator enstead of the -- instead of the brake and that's how the suv ended up in the pool but we are told it took crews several hours to remove the vehicle from the pool and tow it away. for the net thely, the driver was able to get himself out of the vehicle with only minor injuries. he was taken to the hospital as a result of that. but what we are hearing from cambridge police this morning is that no charges are being filed but certainly the good especially when you see a scene like that, no one was injured. seriously. we are live in cambridge nicole jacobs wbz this morning. >> thanks very much. we are following developing news this morning right now police are starting to head to all cambridge public schools another threat. cambridge is the latest to receive a bomb threat that came -- yesterday. the district says there's no need to believe it's createddible but there will be visible -- credible but there will be visible police

cape and islands. let's start with what's going on right now. cold air will set the stage for snow. temperatures in the teens out the door right now. but there's a wind map. wind has been with us all week. real feel is 1 below zero. feels like 4 in boston so you want to be bundled up again. you don't need me to tell you that. we will rise through the 20s through the afternoon and good news is the wind is going to gradually subside today. so it won't be as gusty as it's been the past couple after noons. wispy cloud on the increase. here's the satellite and radar impressive. we have the storm center that's going to transfer the energy to the coastline a lot of energy with this. thunderstorms in the florida panhandle. snow advancing through virginia and west virginia. and there's ice in between so just a mess to the south this morning. for us, the rest of the day is quiet. clouds thicken tonight and tomorrow morning no snow in new-

across new york city southwest connecticut. that snow moves in from south to north. timeline may be fast here in the depiction but i do expect the snow to advance in along south coast by the early afternoon. and for the rest of us during the evening hours. notice north of the map new hampshire border little if any snow. there has been no change there. real sharp cut off to the northern extent of the snowfall. by midnight, that's when the height of the storm is for most of us. bands of blowing and drifting snow from the south shore back down to the cape. and by sunday morning, look at the sun out north and west of the boston. clearing comes in and any snow will taper off from the south shore to the cape by late morning. and again all of this tracking 24 hours out time to flip-flop or tweak the exact track of the storm. what we are thinking has not changed in terms of flurries little if anything. a coating to two inches from southern essex in through worcester and maybe more like 2, 3 inches in the city of boston.

but the jackpot for new england 2 to 5 inches from the south shore back down to the cape and there may be some locally higher amounts like new bedford to the cape that may top out over 6 inches and a few spots if everything comes together. want to mention the wind that's a concern. tomorrow afternoon it ramps up and that wind from the northeast gusting over 40 miles per hour from boston to the coastline over 50 miles per hour gusts as high as 60 on the island. tomorrow late evening and night. the wind is going to shift around to the north on the morning. different things. number one we may see dang in the cape and islands. it would be isolated and pockets may result. and minor flooding and beach erosion as well. temperatures in the low 30s on sunday and then pretty quiet quickly. by the way barry had a blast with the wave write school in saugus -- wave wright school in saugus.

swimming pool. >> nicole jacobs is live on the scene and you learned how it ended up in the water. >> reporter: yeah, a valet is to blame. but you can see here the damage from the outside of the condo complex here on museum way. crews continue to work to board up the building. but getting you to the video that tells the story. you can see the suv completely submerged and plunge into that indoor swimming pool. cambridge police tell us a valet put the car in reverse and into drive and then mistakenly pressed the accelerateor instead of the brakes. we are told that driver the valet driver was able to get himself out of the vehicle with only minor injuries and as a result was taken to the hospital because of that. srnl it could have been much -- srnl it could have been much -- certainly it could have been much worse when you see the extent of the damage. it took several hours to get the vehicle out of the water. but eventually they did and they towed it away.

morning. south coast and the cape is going to feel the brunt of the storm. we will talk more about it in a second. cold air is setting the stage for the snow. we are running in the teens right now it's 19 in boston and no need for me a tell you to be bundle up this morning. real feel is in the single digits in boston and feels like 1 behoe zero in worcester. worcester at the airport where they take the observations, it's at about a thousand feet in elevation. now we will come up to around 30 today. cooler upper 20s north and west of town. bive freezing plymouth to the cape and the wind will slowly subside. you will notice an increase in the clouds serious clouds and that's on the move today. advancing in later this afternoon. those clouds come out ahead of the storm. the storm is advancing in terms of snow through west virginia and virginia now. we have got icing ongoing serious situation in the carolinas this morning. changing to rain in south carolina and thunderstorms in the gulf coast states. snow all the way around the backside of this thing in northern mississippi.

and what does it mean for us at home? no change in terms of our thinking. snow advances to dc later this afternoon to new york city by the predawn tomorrow. advancing into can't cut by tomorrow -- connecticut by tomorrow morning. a dry start for us but the snow comes if during the afternoon and evening especially. this maybe a little fast on timing but the key to point out is that north of the mass new hampshire border there's no snow. so it's sharp cut off. this is midnight tomorrow night. the height of the storm look at this. with bands whipping snow from the south shore to the cape depending on how close the storm gets we may get look how close the rain snow line is. a little mixing that occurs in the outer cape or nantucket. by sunday morning, the sun is out across the interior. as sharp as the cut off is with the snow, it's going to be just as sharp for the clouds. so clearing comes in and the to late morning on sunday. everybody. in terms of what we are thinking for snowfall little if
