>> i am chris mckinnon. we want to check the forecast with danielle niles. >> good morning. looks pretty quiet today. we have a couple showers i am tracking along the south coast and it's pretty mild start. look at temperatures right now in boston a. 43 degrees. the winds out of the west at 10 miles an hour. it feels colder, 37 is the real feel but not bad by january standards. most of us in eastern massachusetts are running in the lower 40s right now. 42 in lawrence and 43 taunto and falmouth and providence a touch cooler from worcester to keene. radar shows green from harford to the south coast. a quick spritz on east side back down to nantucket. clipping chatham and more showers light extending along the south coast from fall river to westerly row i'dland they are moving east and will be with us the next couple hours. we are talking about mainly quiet weather. once the showers move through between now and late morning and may be mixed with a couple

mid to late morning and clearing comes in increasing sunshine back up to 41 through lunchtime so steady in terms of temperatures. an active breeze with a flurry or sprinkles isolated heading into the ride home. we will go through the end of the week coming up. we are following several breaking news stories this morning. first in dorchester, a man shot to death. this happened after 1:30 on dunbar avenue and washington street. flies. police say it's an active investigation and have not arrested the shooter. break news in norwood war police officer was hit during -- where a police officer was hit during a traffic stop on lex on -- lennox avenue. police. one man was arrested and no word on the officer's condition. more breaking news. in mansfield police investigating a rollover crash. one person was ejected from the car. no word on how bad the injuries are.

itcrashed. police investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide at a home in peabody. a long distant phone call helped police get to the scene. a 51-year-old woman in brazil found stabbed to death and a man dead from self-inflicted stab wounds. the district attorney explains how the reel tills in brazil helped in the -- relatives in brazil helped in the case. >> she was on the phone with reel nighs brazil and they heard a commotion and altercation and that relative called another relative of hers here in peabody and she called the police immediately. >> late last night police showed a car near the crime scene believe to be the man's who was found dead. police have not released the names of anyone involved. 4:33. today sealed documents from the marathon bombing trial will be made public.

the release of more than 600 court filings and exhibits in the case against dzhokhar tsarnaev including fbi interviews and search warrants and dna reports. a stand off at a wildlife refuge in oregon is over. one person is dead several more under arrest. shots were fired when federal and state authorities enterseptembered the armed group during a traffic stop. the group was heading to a community meeting one of the group members was shot and killed and another was wounded. leader ammon bundy and 7 others were arrested. the group took over the refuge on january 2nd as part of a dispute over the federal management of public lands and it's unclear if anyone else is holed up at the refuge. new this morning two people killed three wounded in the shooting at homeless camp in seattle. all of the victims lived at the encampment known as the jungle. no arrest made so far. police are looking for two people of interest in the shooting. a flying tire is blamed for a deadly crash on 128 in lexington. investigators say the tire flew

same in taunton. 41 nashua. cooler but above average from worcester to keene in the middle to upper 30s. there's a bit of a wind to make it feel colder. but by january standards real feel in the upper 20s in worcester is not too bad. there are a couple showers out there. mainly out over cape cod bay back to the outer cape you may get a spritz from wesley and chatham and a few more showers light but lingering along south coast from bristol back down island. so you may want to have the umbrella on stand by. notice a little snow showing up on the radar too. no reports of it making it to the groned but you may get a wet snowflake or two that mixes in on the cape and islands between now and late morning. this is the front coming by. zoom out the view and more moisture to the south but we don't have to worry about that. so clearing skies increasing sunshine. it's the trend today. through the course of the afternoon, between now and 6

from scituate to the south coast possible. again generally light and it will linger longest on the cape until mid to late morning. there are a couple flakes that may mix in. no impact and pushing off the coastline with decreasing clouds coming in. so the sun breaks out this afternoon actually turns into a nice day and there may be an isolated sprinkle or flurry heading into the ride home. tomorrow, look at the map. quiet sunshine to start our thursday and we will get an increase in clouds on thursday. and that's ahead of two different disturbances we are watching. one coming in from the great lakes and the other out over the ocean. looks like the bulk of the moisture will stay out to the sea. but what will happen for us is we get clouds and couple rain showers possible in the cape and maybe a snow shower in the afternoon on friday. it doesn't look like a big impact but we will watch that and may get a quick coating to an inch in few communities on friday afternoon. today 42. keep in mind it's 43 in boston. so we will drop a few degrees between now and sunrise. and then come back into the lower 40s this afternoon.

into the 20s and so melting and refreeze watch for a few icy patches on anything untreated and another above average day tomorrow. topping out around 41 in the city of boston accu-weather 7- day upper 30s on friday could be a snow shower and then saturday, a few more clouds there may be a a sprinkle or two. sunday looks like the pick if you like the mild air into the upper 40s and even warmer to start next week. could be a couple rain showers on monday. see you with more weather at 5. >> thank you. hometown honors crowds lined the streets from boston to hingham showing support for the family of a local marine killed in a military helicopter accident. thousands of people turned out for the special tribute. >> they are paying respects to corporate corporal christopher orlando and his family. julie lon chick was there for -- loncich was there.

young man who is defensing our country. >> our daughter is serving in hawaii with the navy and she was chose to some of the guys so she asked us to come down and we wanted to be here. >> reporter: so many came to mourn a marine they never met. >> to see a young man whose livened so abruptly it's heart breaking. >> what can you say? it's so hard and he was so young and had his life ahead of him. it's a terrible thing. a terrible, terrible thing. >> reporter: 12 missing marines were presumed dead after two helicopters crashed off the coast of hawaii. hingham's corporal christopher orlando was among them and tonight his parents returned home without their 23-year-old son escorted by state and local police. thousands lined the streets of hingham silenced say for sirens.

following several breaking news stories on this wednesday morning. first in dorchester where a man was found shot to death after 1:30 on dunbar avenue and washington street. police say it's an active investigation. so far no arrests have been made. details on breaking news out of norwood. a police officer hit during a traffic stop is being treated at the hospital right now. good news is he suffered minor injuries and is expected to be okay. the officer pulled over a truck looking for someone wanted on several warrants. the driver refused to get out of the truck and took off hitting the officer with the door or mirror knobbing him to the ground. a chic began-- chase began and police used stop sticks to stop the chase. and breaking news in mansfield. police investigating a rollover crash. one person was ejected from the car. no word on how bad the injuries are. thateelboro chronicle reports the vehicle may have been going 100 miles an hour when it hit

new hampshire senator kelly aott will testify about the opioid crisis. the goal of the hearing is to determine what role congress can play to fight the spread of prescription drug and hair wn abuse. assuming you don't need health insurance because you are healthy it could be a costly mistake as part of the president's health care law. fines for being uninsured will go up considerably this year. one estimate averages as much as a thousand dollars per household. penalties are designed to bring more healthy people into the insurance pool lowering the cost for everyone involved. president obama is calling for more research into the zika virus with the hope of developing a treatment. yesterday, the president met with the national security team and public health officials about the mosquito born virus. it is believed to be linked to birth defects in newborns whose mothers are infected. it is spreading through central and south america. u.s. officials have recommended pregnant women avoid traveling to areas where there are

and two u.s. airlines are offering rye funds to zika virus. united airlines says customers who have booked trips can reschedule or get refunds. american airlines will give refunds to pregnant women who are set to travel. on the "healthwatch" a new push to make sure moms get the medical treatment they need during and after pregnancy. the government panel is recommending all women be screened for depression during pregnancy and after giving birth. all though the condition is drastically underdiagnosed mental health experts believe one out of every seven women suffer from depression beginning in preg fansies and continues postpartum. two men badly injured in a plane crash in june are thanking the people who rescued him. the pilot and his passenger crashed into the woods near north hampton new hampshire airfield. the plane burst into flames and both men were returned to ports smith regional hospital trauma center and he praised the staff. >> someone they just met come
