walking outside it's amazing how a couple degree difference can can make it feel milder than it's been. >> absolutely. and it feels like we are in early march not earl late january. >> it's in the 40s so absolutely. it's a mild day. it's 42 in boston. there's bit of a breeze creating a real feel in the mid- 30s. but by january's standards it's not too bad. 41 in nashua. upper 30s from worcester to keene. 39 in concord new hampshire but most of us in eastern massachusetts in the lower 40s and i am tracking a couple showers out there. mainly along the south coast and cape. it's a light shower you may encounter from dartmouth and a couple of these are moving from west to east. generally light and you may want the umbrella on stand by a couple flakes trying to mix in on the backside that would not amount to a whole lot. there may be a wet flake between now and late morning. a couple degrees between now

street near the intersection of washington and dunbar. you saw a big truck go by because the road is opened now. but we have video for you of the scene that's been going on since around 1:40. they did close down the street here as they were investigatingmedical examiner was -- the medical examiner was on the scene. we caught up with homicide detectives and they were able to tell us a man was shot in the street outside on washington street overnight and it's an open and ongoing investigation. they will release more information later this morning. live in dorchester susie steimle wbz this morning. >> thank you for the update. new details on breaking news in norwood as well. a police officer hit during a traffic stop is being treated at the hospital right now. the good news is that he only suffered minor injuries and is expected to be okay. the officer pulled over a truck several warrants. the driver refused to get out of the truck and took off

door or mirror knocking him to the ground. that's when a chase began. police had to use stop sticks to end it. two men were arrested. breaking news in mansfield police investigating a rollover crash there. one person ejected from the car. no word on how bad the injuries are. the attleboro sun chronicle reports the vehicle may have been going about 100 miles an hour when it hit part of the bridge. also developing this morning, police investigating what appears to be a murder- suicide at a home in peabody. the victim's family was a big help in the case. >> a long distance phone called helped lead police to the scene. nicole jacobs is live with more on what happened. >> reporter: good morning. we are told the victim in this case was actually on the phone with relatives when they realized something was going terribly wrong. at this point police have not identified that victim nor the man they believe is responsible for carrying out the murder- suicide.

residence in this neighborhood i should say are shocked and stunned by the violence. police tape surrounds the area >> really close. you wouldn't expect to be this close but i guess i don't know anything is possible now right. >> reporter: just before 6:30 it happened. relatives of the 51-year-old woman alerted a authorities-- authorities. >> she was on the phone with a relative in brazil and that relative heard a commotion and altercation and the line went dead. home in and found her stabbed to death. another man on scene dead of self-inflicted stab wounds. >> on the steps to the house it appears outside the home. >> a lot goes on anywhere now. it done matter where you live i don't think anymore. even the small towns have it now so its not good. >> reporter: motive is unclear.

boyfriend disgruntled over a break-up. police say there have been no previous calls to the residence related to domestic issue. we are live in peabody nicole jacobs wbz this morning. >> thanks so much. the boston marathon bombing trial will be made public. a federal judge just ordered the release of more than 600 court filings and the exhibits in the case against dzhokhar tsarnaev including fbi interviews, search warrants and dna reports. 5:05. a stand off at a remote wildlife refuge in oregon is over. one person is dead several under arrest. shots were fired when federal and state authorities intercepted the armed group during a traffic stop. the group was apparently heading to a community meeting. one of the group members was shot and killed. another wounded. the leader of the grume ammon bundy and 7 others were arrested. the group took over the refuge on january 2nd as part of a dispute over the federal

it's unclear if anyone else is holed up in the refuge. two people killed three wounded in shooting at a homeless came in seattle. all of the victims lived at encampment known as the jungle. no arrests have been made and police are looking for two people of interest in the shooting. a flying tire is being blade for a deadly crash on 128 in lexington of the investigators say the tire flew off a pickup truck in the southbound lane of 128 and smashed into a camry heading north. that car's driver was killed. >> i never in a thousand years would have guessed it was a tire that flew across. the chances of that happening are probably even less than getting struck by lightning. that's pret they scary. >> you can't predict what's going to happen right? >> scary. >> right. >> the peckup truck was driven by a 19-year-old woman registered to a man in harvehail. so far no charges have been filed. final salute to a local marine. crowds of people many complete

and these extend into providence and a sprinkle may come through you and along the south coast of rhode island into southern bristol county. it's with a front we looked at yesterday and if you zoom out there's more moisture to the south and won't impact you that much this morning between now and let's say late morning there will be a chance of a shower. in fact let's go through the hour by hour. notice all the way from plymouth back to the cape a quick light shower through 7, 8, what is this? blue showing up on the mat. a wet snowflake or two may mix with the rain drops but wouldn't amount to anything and wouldn't have any impact. just don't be caught off guard. and through the afternoon it's increasing sunshine. not too bad. we stay in the low 40s today. and tomorrow we start with sunshine and the clouds build in. and that's ahead of the disturbance we talked about all week. one coming in from the great lakes, and another out over the ocean. notice they stay separate. so the concern was how quickly they would link up. it looks like most of the rain stays offshore. we may get a shower on the cape

with nice salad and caesar dressing that was not a tasty lunch. i now have another prediction to make. that might turn out to be wrong. but it's based on my experience with both politics and human nature. in spite of his promise last night to skip thursday night's nationally televised gop debate after a spat with the debate organizer fox news, donald trump will in fact be there. as we pointed out last night on the 11:00 news, almost immediately after canceling out of the debate in a huff, trump was softening the rhetoric. this leaves the door open for the network to back down a bit as well. watch for some conciliatory rhetoric and 11th hour decision by trump to show up at of after all. they get their astronomical ratings and he gets the new psycheled dominance through thursday at least.

new york stock exchange for today's money watch. >> reporter: good morning. two major airlines will refund passengers worrying about traveling to brazil and other virus. united says all customers can get refunds or rescheduled without a change fee. american says it will offer refunds to pregnant women as zika is linked to dangerous birth defects. uber is testing a program that lets -- that monitors drivers gps and their phones and that can measure small movements like sudden stops and accelerations. it's in response to complaints about drivers who speed or too heavy on brakes. weight watcher shares are soaring shooting up 20% after oprah winfrey tweeted she lost 26 pounds on the plan while eating bread every day. oprah joined weight watchers in october and owns 6 1/2 million

an unexpected competitor leaves experiencing runers in a dust. >> a dog in alabama accidently joined a half marathon and fin initiated 7th play. she ran off to go to the bathroom and somehow ended up at starting line. she ran with the runners for all 13.1 miles. her 7th place finish was enough to get her her own medal.
