we saw the snowflakes this afternoon. maybe about 15 to 25 minutes worth of snowflakes in some locations. didn't amount to anything. all offshore and a couple rain drops on the south shore. high today in boston 41. five above the average high and record 65 back in 2002. these are the current numbers. still in the middle 30s no danger of icing tonight to be worried about as you head out for friday evening. and these are the temperatures out to the west. now we find a chunk of chill in canada but that is not going to come at us with a direct hit. it's going to move across southern canada and it will turn colder but not all that cold. down to 30 in boston and mid to upper 20s in most sububs for the overnight lows -- suburbs for the overnight lows and rising up to what we have had today. sill lar temperatures upper 30s to lower 40s around boston and should be a decent saturday. all day. spots. it will be mostly clear to start out form tomorrow morning and clouds later in the morning

cloud the rest of the day. the sun may pop out from time to time and we might see it in the cloud cover. but for the most part it's not going to be as bright as it will be first thing in the morning. on sunday we will have varying a cloud and again throughout the day with sometimes when the sun will be popping out. for your high temperatures on sunday though, about 10 to 12 lower 50s. so a nice recovery for sure. as we have the warm front approaching that's what will give us the cloud during tomorrow and we get mild air on sunday with a mix of cloud and sunshine as it goes in the lower 50s. then looking ahead to next week the weather story is a storm out of the rockies. snow producing system in the plain states and brings severe weather to the tennessee valley location and down in the gulf coast states but for us it brings warm air up from the gulf of mexico and so we have very warm so for the first week offebruary above average temperatures. no question about that. looks like this this is how i see it for the next seven days. lower 40s tomorrow which is

three weeks from today february 19th red sox pitchers and catchers first official workout. hard to believe but it's getting to that time of year again. sat down with red sox team president over at fenway to discuss numerous things about this year's team. one of the topics the condition or should i say conditioning of pablo sandoval. third baseman what difficult first year and many think it had to do with how much weight he was carrying but he says pablo what great off season and is in very good baseball shape. >> so far so good. now they have to go out on the field and perform but they have given themselves the added advantage to do so. i haven't seen pablo but john saw him recently and said he lost 20 to 25 pounds. i know he has been work hard and working out twice a day so he's been working out getting up early in the morning and in the afternoon and been with a nutritionist that helped. now when i say pablo you won't

it doesn't look like much of anything but thieves were using this device to steal credit or debit card numbers from gas pump. it was found at the gulf station on route 3a. police doesn't mow if card numbers were actually stolen. general electric gets ready to bring hundreds of corporate jobs to boston, it's cutting engineers. 59 engineers are losing their jobs at the ge plant in lynn. those cuts part of a larger nationwide reduction. around 2800 people work at the lynn plant. ge also closing a facility in avon and losing 300 jobs there. david. for the first time ever homeownership in boston is dipped below 60%. meaning more people than ever are renting instead. some experts say that skyrocketing home prices and increase in millenial renters are to blame. in the past few months the average price rose almost 5%.
