this is where we have downpours new bedford towards the canal and more heavy rain from fall connecticut. these batches downpours will be moving up. warm front moving north all day. 54 in fitchburg. 50s will punch into southern hours. night. so temperatures continue to march towards 60 by midnight. on and off showers and downpours. best chance for thunder and lightning is south coast and cape and island. and exceptionally warm in the 50s all day long for most towns. lingering showers to start the day and it will wrap up from west to east as we head into the afternoon. now after that, well here's the snow part a winter storm watch for parts of southeastern massachusetts south coast and cape and mart' vineyard beginning after midnight on thursday and last into friday morning and could slow down the commute a little bit. it doesn't look like huge snow totals but the plow trucks may have to head out on friday morning.

thisstorm what it means and a larger possibility for early next week coming up in a little while. david. >> we will see you then. now at 5 a boy saved from a fast moving fire in this chelsea apartment building. and two firefighters were hurt in that rescue. no one else was hurt in an incredible fact considering many people actually ignored the fire alarms. bree sison is live with a closer look at why they ignoreed the -- ignored the fires alarms. >> reporter: they say they hear the a-- fire alarms. >> reporter: a they say they hear them go off frequently and didn't make much of it. but you can see from the contractors on scene boarding up windows and such this was a very fast moving fire and all 24 apartments are now unliveable. >> this is continued to deteriorate all companies alert we removed a child trapped on the 4th floor. >> reporter: a child trapped above the fire made it down the stairwell with the help of fire fighters.

we first pulled up we sent crews and they were able to get him out and escort him out. >> my cat is up there. i am trying to get my cat. >> reporter: chelsea fire made an important save for linda bringing out her fluffy feline crystal. >> the fire spread quicker than the crews could control it. requiring 4 alarms to get enough manpower here in order to contain the fire. >> reporter: two firefighters got hurt. one with a back injury and the other taken to mass general with one broken wrist and the other sprained. crews say they worried about people staying in the eleanor avenue building and for good reason. >> the alarm goes off all the time here. that's to the point where we don't even listen to it or go out. but this time, we smelled the smoke. >> reporter: again, back here on scene you see the windows being boarded up particularly on the third and fourth floors. the deputy chief says they did identify the cause. it started on the third floor

get pregnant after a caribbean or warm weather vacation a lot of them have concerns. what thud she know. >> reporter: so there's more information coming out all the time. so some of the recommendations are probably going to change as time goes on. but, i think it's pretty clear that if you are pregnant or you have plans to become pregnant in the near future you should avoid traveling to the high risk areas for zika virus. it's not worth the worry or risk even if you may have a baby moon or trip planned so stay at home or go someplace else. even if you are not planning on getting pregnant and you travel to one of these areas, either abstain from sex or use contraception because many pregnancies are unintentional and it's not worth taking the risk. >> but what if you've been to one of the areas where the risk is high and -- where the risk is high and you want to have a baby. >> reporter: it's important to talk to your doctor before you start trying to get pregnant but a you may have been

and knocking out power and rising flood waters caught a lot of people off guard forcing emergency crews to perform more than a half dozen rescuesch the same stom system creating blizzard like conditions across the central plains. >> that is not the issue here. our issue in new england for tonight is rain. >> that's right. same storm system on the mild side. if you look at the radar, the rain is up in canada. again. so a lot of warm air here. you can see the line from the gulf of mexico on up to the crown of main and that's where still some snow holding on tonight. we are looking at temperatures and you can see whych the warm front has been moving northward tout to 54 in fitchburg and new hampshire over the next half our or so in the 50s. we will make a run at 60 in some towns tonight. so here's hour by hour and as we head through the evening adding a little bit each hour and by midnight near 59 which is the record high temperature for the states. we will see if we get that.

that could -- worcester's record is 57 and that could fall before the evening is done. scattered showers across southern new hampshire and 495 corridor. steady rain towards the cape and heavier rainfall approaching worcester. central massachusetts and along the pike is where you have the heavier downpours. this is moving off towards the east. it will spread towards franklin and southern half of 495 and metro wet west over the next hour -- west over the next hour or so. downpours will be with us throughout the rest of the night and a chance for a couple of rumbles of thunder and lightning. tomorrow morning, lingering showers in the eastern end of the state. especially towards the cape and islands. that's where the clouds will be thickest. by the afternoon working in sunshine and brightening skies for a short while. that's the story as we head through tomorrow. we are looking at the wind which is gusting out of the south. that continues tonight peak gusts at 30 to 45 miles per hour. shouldn't cause a lot of damage but it's muggy and warm and

the winds will calm down as we head into tomorrow morning. so for the commute still breezy but it won't be nearly as wendy as what we see at -- windy as what we are seeing at this time. lingering showers and warm start is another exacceptingally -- exceptionally mild day. parts of central massachusetts falling into the 40s. but other than that, it's way up above average. by the evening partly cloudy and 48. we turn our attention to a chance of snowfall as we head past midnight thursday night and into friday morning. the same front moving through tonight now gets a wave of low pressure along it and pushes the precipitation back into the region coinciding with friday morning's commute. from boston south and east this is where the highest risk of accumulating snow will be. the mix with rain towards the cape and islands. it will be here early afternoon before sliding out to sea. this is another on the edge situation and the most uncertainty is not-- is on the northwest side. it's a coating to two from the

providence and best chance of 2 to 4 south shore to the south coast buzzard bay and upper cape. for the outer cape nantucket a coating to 2 where rain cuts down on the the accumulations. moving towards the weekend we dry out and it's low to mid-40s and quiet conditions for saturday and sundaych the next system is next week. and an area of low pressure should be around for the primary day on tuesday. details still very unclear this far out. but it's a next thing to keep in your mind. accu-weather seven-day forecast, temperatures above average until next week but next week brings back wentry weather and a chance -- within theory weather and a chance for snow -- wintry weather and chance for snow. we are not saying bye to winter yet. >> we want to but can't. >> thank you. we are four days away from super bowl 50 and one lucky loser will be there to see the game in person. tom brugey loves to play the
