live from the wbz news studios -- from the channel 4 studios in boston, wbz news at 11:00 p.m. starts right now. >> breaking right now at 11:00 p.m. firefighters battling a deadly house fire on the south shore. >> we have just learned one person is dead. crews have been at the scene fighting the fire. julie? >> reporter: firefighters just me. unfortunate news. one person died in this house fire in plymouth. a large house fire. firefighters have it under control but it is still a very active scene. the fire broke out around 8:00 p.m., went to two larms. we are waiting -- alarms. we are waiting an update but the fire marshal is conducting

officer from the district attorney's office. neighbors say there was concern of nearby propane tanks. >> she first heard, like, snap, pop and snacking. she told me she saw the deck in flames and that is when she called the fire department. then we really saw flames shooting. saw it coming out of the house on the hill. we are over across the street. >> reporter: again the unfortunate news, one person has died in the fire at 84 ellisville road in plymouth. firefighters not releasing the age or the identity of the victim at this point. state senator investigated over sunglasses, dry cleaning and graduation party. >> i was troubled by the issues that were raised. >> reporter: now it is so much bigger. the feds raiding his office and the governor has questions too.

>> reporter: joyce did surrender leadership positions his attorneys say she cooperating with the feds and the feds are saying nothing. live in canton, ken macleod, >> thank you. new tonight at 11:00 p.m. police identifying a woman found murdered in hes apartment. colleen russell -- in her apartment. colleen russell. no one has been arrested. it is unclear how she was cleared. a terrible loss for employees at bernie & phyl . a delivery truck hit and killed an employee. the victim is 63-year-old michael hassett. the driver is a subcontractor who delivers for the chain. police are investigating. looking live at downtown boston tonight and at mother nature's magic making the snow disappear.

look at the mess at this school library. now it is a rush to fix everything before vacation is over. jim smith is live. jim, a lot of towns dealing with this right now. >> reporter: david seems like we are seeing a new community every night and now it is their turn. the leak cost half a million dollars in damage and it ruined the library. but now there is another issue. abestthose has to be removed -- asbestos has to be removed from the library. >> this is the culprit. these are the parts that prose up and broke -- froze up and broke off. >> reporter: last week's frigid weather was too much. aging pipes giving way. 2,000 books gone. >> books, computers, anything that existed in the library was

we will take that down. >> reporter: the principal found the devastation. >> i walk in. as soon as i got to the front doors i could see the water coming out the front doors. >> reporter: and that is not all, crews will have to remove asbestos. >> they are concerned about asbestos. >> really? i didn't know that. >> reporter: schools inschools -- schools have been hit with severe water damage. they hope to have the school open by monday but the library will be off limits for months. >> we have had crews come in, removal. any of that asbestos that was wet or damaged will be removed by the crews. >> reporter: and the school department tonight says it will work with state environmental officials on the best procedure

the work will take place only during the evening, not during the day while classes are being held. jim smith, wbz news. >> thank you. a teacher is facing assault charges tonight. she is accused of smacking candy out of a student's hand. she turned herself in to police this afternoon. tonight taking action after this scene on the orange line. smoke filled the station when two trains ran over a metal panel that fell on to the tracks. passengers climbed out the windows to escape. no one was hurt. boston marathon bombings bomber is getting new lawyers. he asked the judge to replace his defense team. he is locked up at the super max prison in colorado.

missing man expanded into the water. today dive teams went into boston harbor and the charles river looking for the man who disappeared after a night outlet with friend over the -- out with friends over the weekend. the man who carjacked a mother and her baby is behind bars. he pointed a gun at them, and took off in her car. he crashed and police say not long after that accident he confessed to the carjacking. campaign 2016. a shift in the race for the white house. a poll shows ted cruz ahead of donald trump. the poll shows marco rubio in third. tonight several gop candidates fielded questions in town halls. jon keller talks about that. you were keeping an eye on the way they answered the questions? >> reporter: yeah. you can tell a lot about how

the law for pretending to be doctor. a teenager. police say the 18-year-old opened a doctor's office and performed exams on patients without a license. investigators say this went on for a month. >> these allegations and accusations will be cleared up. >> 18-years-old. it is not the first time he did this. he was caught at a local hospital last year. 2015 grad who said she was sexually assaulted on campus is suing the school. harvard officials ignored her complaints and refused to move the attacker to another dorm and one official encouraged her not to report the attack. >> i carried pepper spray in the halls of my own home. >> harvard said it responds fairly to all allegations of

5 minutes before the deadline, they aquered thomas from the suns and that was steal. last season thomas helped them make the playoffs and this year he became an all star for the first time. however the thomas deal wasn't an easy one to make. >> when we made that deal we knew we would get better and, you kn, it was going to take minute away from players that were developing but we knew he would make us a better team immediately last year. and at this time last year it wasn't a no brainer to do. get the 15th pick in the draft, make the playoffs and so forth. that took a lot of thought and discussion and we felt he was too good to pass up at that time. >> he is fun to watch. bad news, kelly will not be in the line up this weekend. he is headed to los angeles to get a second opinion on his

he got hit during the 2nd quarter of last week's game against the clippers and didn't return. it was announced it was only a bruise but maybe not. baseball, pitchers and catchers report to work tomorrow morning. many players have already arrived including hanley ramirez who showed up today with mike napoli's old first baseman glove. he started taking grounders at first base last season. many fans are skeptical he could make the transition to first but that is the plan unless he is traded. he slimmed down and said he feels more athletic and hopes that translates to the field. >> yeah, i mean, like i say, that is the key. that is the key. you know, stay healthy.
