we have team coverage from the track troubles first nicole jacobs is live at south station on what's causing the backups. >> reporter: when the company that runs the commuter rail urges commuters to seek an alternate route means of traps pour station you know it's a bad this morning. you can see the train on tracks anywhere. all this in the middle of morning rush hour and here's kicker. they have no idea when the problem will be rectified. let's get to video. social media was flooded with photos showing frustrated passengers. crowds on the rails and platforms all of this sparked by a signal issue which we are told controls the train coming in and going out of various stations. similar to a traffic signal

morning say this cruiser was going fast in pursuit of the suspect and they guesstimate about 08 miles an hour. -- 80 miles an hour. >> we have a report there's wires down. >> reporter: this is the aftermath of a high speed police chase from revere to chelsea. in pursuit of a suspect this officer smashed his cruiser into a utility pole. snapping the pole like a tooth pick. >> i heard sirens coming on and all of a sudden i heard a boom. >> reporter: she works nearby after she heard the crash, she ran out to see what happened. >> i heard a car flying by and saw the air bag and police officer there. >> we heard the loud roar. >> reporter: francesca ortiz ran over to pull the officer to safety. >> he was in pain it was so much pain. i don't know what condition he was in but he was in so much pain and couldn't talk he was like help me. >> reporter: the officer was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. meanwhile the suspect took off.

warm up on way. air today. being see the camera kind of shaking a little bit. a bit of a breeze creating a real feel and we have got bright blue skies so at least the sun is shining. temperatures at logan airport right now, 33 degrees. whoa woke up this morning it was around 30. northwest wind 13 miles per occasionally higher. that creates a real feel at logan airport 24 degrees. and that's in the teens north and west of the boston. a little colder. 17 in worcester and real feel 16 in keene and 15 manchester and back up to concord burlington vermont the real feel is 4. sunshining and there are clouds. some will impact the cape and islands. the rest of us stay mainly clear and high pressure is in charge to the north and west. that will build overhead over the next 24 hours. in fact the wind will subside tonight, tomorrow, sunshine to greet us for friday morning.

high slides offshore we get an increase in clouds rapidly tomorrow late in the day. so enjoy the sunshine while it last. winds starts to turn from the south and pockets of snow approaching by tomorrow evening. this is actually a sign of the warm air that's going to push in so tomorrow evening and night there may be a brief burst of snow showers that come through after the evening commute and let's say around 9 p.m. time frame into the overnight and isolated rain shower on saturday though because once the morning clouds part, sunshine comes out. we go 45 to 50 saturday afternoon and most of the day will be spent dry. that front comes in and behind it there's not that much cold air. the high should still be around 50 on sunday and next cold front comes in and that will usher in a little bit of colder airheading into the start of the next week but not much. then the next significant storm threat comes in during the middle part of next week. there's going to be a storm coming out of the gulf of mexico so the entire east coast had likely be affected here. the precip still to be

if it takes a track over southern new england we may drag enough mild air in to get a change over to rain or all rain in eastern massachusetts. and then wintry mix across the interior. obviously a week out still watching that closely time frame wednesday of next week. and in the meantime, tonight quiet mainly clear and except for the cape. with the clouds helps keep temperatures up a little bit. we will be in the 20s but 19 in boston and coldest jaffrey may dip into the single digits. and highs tomorrow milder than today and will feel different because the wind will be pretty light tomorrow and that makes a difference. 38 for a high in boston. pretty much on the mark for where we should be this time of year. right around 40 in some of the suburbs. accu-weather 7-day forecast nearing 50 on saturday. should be right around there on sunday too. and chance of a rain or snow shower early on monday and there's the cooler air that comes had for the middle part of the week with the chance of rain and snow on wednesday. >> thank you. toyota is recalling more than a million suvs here in the
