officer gunned down on her first day on patrol. 28-year-old ashley guindon was shot and killed responding to domestic violence call. >> and she will be honor in her court. >> reporter: good morning. a moment of silence is planned to happen here at merrimack high school, the school that that slain office a are attended and graduated from. hundreds pray in honor of a honor fallen officer ashley guindon first day on the job ended with her losing her life. >> we will continue one step at a time in honor of ashley. it was -- it would discredits it her memory and selfless service if we did anything else will. >> reporter: ronald ham i amton -- hamilton shot and killed his wife before openingfire and killing guindon. >> it was scary i heard 4 to 5

>> reporter: hamilton surrendered and the active duty army sergeant was assigned to the pentagon. ashley guindon's hometown noun mourners grieve leaving flowers at her mom's doorstep. >> sad to see someone so young and first day on the job to get killed. >> reporter: the former marine corps reservist had a masters in forensic science and graduated from mayor mark high school in 2005. >> it leaves a hole in everyone's heart in the law enforcement family and the fact this was a individual a member of our community makes it more difficult for us to reconcile. >> reporter: and that murder suspect is due in court later today. as far as two other officers they are expected to survive. reporting live in merrimack, chantee lans wbz this morning. kathryn. >> thank you. an investigation is underway this morning into a police shooting in dartmouth. officers were responding to a domestic incident involving a mother and a son.

kuphal tucked off in car and they tracked -- took off in a car and they tracked him. they tried to subdue him with a taser and that didn't work. one officer fired the weapon and hit him. he is now recovering in the hospital. worcester police are searching for the driver who hit two pedestrians and took off from the scene. a witness says he saw a woman run over a husband and wife sunday afternoon. he says the couple can and their daughter were just leaving a flea market. and the daughter pleaded with the driver to stop. >> no doubt she knew she hit somebody. >> yeah you could-- according to the guys they were banging on the windows you know. come on. it's telling you something stop or roll your window down or something but the lady i guess was in shock herself and she kept going. >> the husband was treated and released from the the hospital. the wife has serious injuries. multiple witnesses say they saw the driver and took down a license plate number. now to campaign 2016. tomorrow voters in

polls for super tuesday and news this morn -- new this morning, we are looking at how voters in the stay are leaning a new exclusive wbz umass amherst poll shows hillary clinton with slim lead over bernie sanders 47 to 44%. they used to tied 9% of democrats are undecided. jon keller says this race could be a cliff hanger. >> reporter: overwhelmingly been almost a 3 to 1 margin voters identified bernie sanders as the candidate whose views most reflect their own. and yet he is still in the dead heat. why? well if you look at some of the other qualities that voters want, likely democratic primary voters that is, they include being a strong leader, having a lot of experience, and being electable in november and in all three of those areas, clinton cleans sanders' clock. to the republicans we go donald

from south bay to the split. 128 southbound crawling between logan express to the split. 39 southbound stop and go in the andover stretch between 495 and bogged down again between 128 and med foresquare and route 1 southbound a disabled truck blocking the right lane before webster avenue. route 3 south hang up between 495 and 129 kathryn. >> thank you. arming officers on a local college campus will be the subject of a public hearing today. the boston city council hearing is at 5 tonight. it will discuss northeastern university decision to arm the officers with a semiautomatic rifle. and the school office says they need the rifles in case of an emergency but boston police officials say it's not necessary. northeastern is one of the more than 60 campuses that police force are using rifles. mbta is expected to announce they are making big progress on the losses. globe reports the t has cut thedeaf set by 43% and that is thanks to a decrease in

>> spring here we come. >> look at that sunrise shot. this morning beautiful start to the day. caught the plane in there too. great start to the day but there are a couple of changes on way by later on. i am tracking a couple showers. if we hit 60 degrees today, we will have the most or second most number of 60 degree days in a winter. we are at the third. we have had 8days for the wint are so far that hit 60 or greater. 9 days was in 1945 and 50 and 1990, 91, 10 days reaching 60 plus degrees. it was close call yesterday. we hit 58 in boston it will be a close call later this afternoon. 43 out the door right now. that's the starting platform a mild start. 48 in taunton. 50 in falmouth and upper 30s in worcester. 27 in keen and it's cold are across the interior and we have had sunshine out of the gate right now. but the clouds are advancing into western massachusetts. those clouds ahead of showers. that's a front that will cross the region by this afternoon.

merrimack now ham sure honoring a one of its own. a moment of silence will be held in memory of ashley guindon killed one day after she was sworn in. today the army sergeant accused of killing her is due in court. >> the rookie officer graduated from merrimack high school in 2005. chantee lan it is live in merrimack this morning with more on today's planned tribute. good morning chantee. >> reporter: good morning kathryn and liam. 28-year-old ashley guindon will be honored and celebrated in a moment of silence at merrimack high school. she started saturday with a prince william county police department and it was her first day she was slain. the suspect 32-year-old ronald hamilton shot and killed his wife before opening fire on guindon and two other officers. hal i amton -- hamilton was assigned to the pentagon and now guindon graduated from merrimack high in 2005 and

marine corps. >> very saddened you know to see somebody so young and first day on the job get killed. >> it puts a hole in everyone's heart the fact this is a individual that was a member of our community makes it more difficult for us to reconcile. >> reporter: as far as the two other officers they are expected to survive. reporting live in merrimack this morning. >> thank you very much. police in chelsea are investigating the suspicious death of a man found on a sidewalk. investigators say the 34-year- old victim was discovered on cottage street around 5 a.m. yesterday morning. he later died at the hospital. police have not released the victim's name. the death of a newspaper advertising woman gun down on the nightly walk may not have been random. new hampshire union leader are reporting the police wouldn't say why they believe denise rosh was targeted and they won't say if they have a suspect or recovered bullets.
