little kaiser was found 15 yards from the shoreline. detectives returned to the beach to try to piece together what happened. boston mayor marty walsh says by the end of the week, the city will review all of the so called drop-in day programs and camps. >> reporter: we spoke with mayo following his meeting with kaiser willis' family. he didn't discuss the investigation but offered condolences and support. and the big headline this afternoon, the director of the curly community center has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. city leaders are trying to account for the 30-minute time period in which he was

he was at one of the drop-in day programs which differs from the camps. yesterday there were 56 children enrolled in the program. there were 25 hired counselors, there were eight lifeguards on hand as well as a director, a supervisor, and an assistant supervisor. i asked the mayor to discuss the family's claims that you heard in them, ask what kaiser's brother >> they claimed it was the cousin. >> i can't speak to that. all i know is what i read in the newspaper. we're putting that together. >> and they claim that their older child, a 9-year-old heard his brother scream. >> the family told me the same thing. and i have not had a chance to debrief about this.

family a few minutes ago. >> commissioner evans says kaiser's body was discovered several yards offshore but directly behind a boat house. they are looking into where the child was last seen. but yesterday we were told he was on the beach when he was last spotted. there were no this child's final moments. >> we have breaking news on cape cod. officers are responding to a man barricaded inside a store in gnash bee. a distraught employee with a gun is threatening to hurt himself. police are asking people to avoid route 28. officers are releasing few details but as soon as we get more information, we'll bring it to you.

deadly. two people were killed when one driver used the wrong ramp to get on 495. bill shields is live with the story tonight in foxborough. >> this was a horrible crash and state police are still trying to piece it together right now. apparently, there was one of those drivers going to the wrong way on 495. it was a horrific crash that left two cars twisted and unrecognizable. and the just after 2 a.m. southbound in mansfield. apparently, one of the drivers was going the wrong way and smashed into the other at high speeds. at daybreak, the visual was worse. police won't say much, only that both drivers died and there were no passengers. one driver was a 24-year-old woman, the other a 26-year-old man who may have been on his way home from his overnight job

out saying police killed her son and then lied about it. >> reporter: the six officers in the freddie gray case appeared together after hearing all remaining charges have been dismissed. >> there was no wrongdoing. >> reporter: the prosecutor made the decision after a judge officers. >> gray, a 25-year-old black man died after suffering a spine injury 2015. they blamed police for conducting a biased investigation. >> there were individual police officers that were witnesses to the case and yet were part of the investigative team. >> there was no stone left

were justified. firefighters in gilford, vermont had to save someone trapped inside a house after it exploded. the base of the home is gone with only the roof retaining some of its structure. you can imagine the force of the blast. crews pulled one person from the basement and no word on injuries or what caused the explosion. and this raging fire in southern california is 40% contained and the flames have scorched more than 60 square miles. search d northern california just saved eight hikers stranded in the los padres national forest. the men were trapped for five days and all of them will be okay. the fire has burned 20,000 acres. >> this leads you to think about people who are working in these kinds of conditions. >> firefighters for sure

it's a tough job. >> when spring comes around, we have these brush fire warnings. we've had 90-degree days day after day after day. >> in the spring, no foliage yet. the foliage does play a part. and you have more wind sometimes. the wind can help spread winds more rapidly. >> it's very dry and certainly anything that started would spread in this kind of weather. the heat wave in be coming to an end. if it's going to jump to 90 it will be in the next 90 minutes. otherwise, just a very warm afternoon and temperatures mainly in the 80s. what a fabulous beach day. temperatures in the 80s and low humidity and it's warm across the northeast. but not quite as hot as recently. and there you see the dew points. dew points in the low 60s along the water's edge.

especially towards the shoreline communities. mostly clear skies and we're back in the 60s. low 70s in downtown boston. and then we watch the next approaching system. the space station viewing is 10:14. it will be visible for six minutes which means a high pass over the middle of the sky. a front that's right in here. you see a chance for showers and storms and a chance for thunderstorm activity tomorrow te gets hot and it will be muggier tomorrow. and then in the afternoon, we'll watch for a chance of developing showers and storms. these are the areas that we'll be keeping an eye on. this particular model is trying to bring this farther south. i think the highest risk area for showers tomorrow evening will be north of the pike. and that's the way we wrap up for tomorrow night.

about significant rain. highs mid-90s and muggy outside and very hot end to the stretch. one more good beach day as the temperatures will be 86 to 92. and we mentioned patriots training camp. bring water and gatorade. and friday, let's talk a illegal immigrant rain. upper 70s to low 80s. and by friday morning we're starting to see the rain fill in and indications e get areas of really heavy rainfall throughout the day on friday, moving up and across the region and coming to an end on friday night. how much rain are we talking? this is a computer model and they go back and forth from run to run. highest rain potential south and east of the pike. and the numbers are legitimate. i think we could see local totals of two to 3 to 4 inches of rain in the heavier downpours on friday.

researchers discovered eating five or more servings of nuts per week could lower inflammation. a push to make sure you know exactly why you're taking a prescription drug. many people take multiple medications daily and don't know what the drugs do. experts want doctors and pharmacists to include the reason a medication is ordered on they think the move could reduce medication errors and make it easier for other doctors to understand. >> people don't know certain things are for high blood pressure. or if you get a medication for gout but don't have gout you can inform them.
