stuff. through the evening commute maybe one or two storms north of boston through the southern new hampshire corridor through the evening hours. we're ale getting into wet weather tomorrow. let's get a check on the roads, kathryn. >> thank you so much. this is a live look at the expressway. you can see volume is picking up. we're seeing volume northbound on the expressway from the split to granite avenue and a car car fire on 128 by exit 5 that's causing delays. breaking news over night, one person shot in the head in lynn. that victim was rushed to mass general with life-threatening injuries. state police from the essex da office is on the scene right now. part of forest is blocked off. fire tears through a home in brookline and you can see how intense these flames were. >> more than a dozen people forced out.

morning with the very latest. what can you tell us, nicole? >> reporter: a fire truck remains on the scene. crews making sure no hot spots flare up. the fire call came in around 11:15 and it was quickly put out we're told . i want to get to video showing you how fierce the flames were. the call came in as a fire on the porch. they tell me all of the residents here fire crews arrived here on the scene. we're told 17 people were displaced as a result of this fire. the american red cross was here on the scene. before they left they told me they are assisting four residents. i can tell you there was one firefighter injured. we're told a minor back injury. again, the good news this morning , everyone made it out of this house. it's a multifamily house with those 17 people here.

also said is that it reached a three alarm fire because of the temperatures over night. they wanted to make sure they had enough firefighters here to put that fire out and continue to make sure it did not spread. so that's the very latest here from brookline, nicole jacobs , wbz this morning. the democratic national convention will come to a close tonight and hillary clinton will have her turn to speak to voters as she formally accepts the party's nomination. she will be introduced by her daughter, chelsea. last night hillary clinton made a surprise appearance on stage with president obama. in his speech the president slammed trump and praised clinton as the only choice come november. >> there is only one candidate in this race who believes in that future, has devoted her life to that future, a mother and a grandmother who could do anything to help our children

70% of americans who think our country is on the wrong track. never has a party been so coy -- so disconnected. wbz's lee martin is brings us live coverage from philadelphia. now to a developing story. a water rescue has turned deadly. three people were pulled from the river around 8:00 last night. one of them has died. the other two were rushed to the hospital. their conditions are notno the district attorney and police are investigating. the l street bathhouse will partially reopen today just two days after a young boy at a city-run program was found dead. the director of the curly community center where kyzr willis went missing has been suspended. a source tells wbz the 7-year-old was last seen on the beach tuesday afternoon after he had gotten out of the water. investigators

from the last time he was seen and when police were notified that he was missing. >> i don't understand why they weren't watching him at that time. why weren't they watching him? >> i think as the grandfather said, if something positive can come from his grandson's death, that might give us a little bit of peace. >> at the time kyzr went missing there were 56 children at that program and approximately 25 councillors. er , a supervisor and assistance supervisor. mayor marty walsh said they will review all day programs and camps by the end of the week. a tense stand off on the cape is over this morning and the suspect is undergoing a mental health evaluation. the stand off lasted for about 7 hours in mashpee over night. he told police he had an ar-15 and a lot of ammo on him.

negotiators were able to get him out. he fired a bullet but no one was hit. police are only saying he's a 41-year-old man. the governor just signed a law limiting the mbta from raising any single fare more than 7% every 2 years. one supporter told the globe modest and predictable fare increases help riders plan ahead and are especially important for those on low or fixed incomes. an patriots and of course their fans. training camp kicks off in just a few hours. >> they are ready to start the season but without tom brady. ana miler is live at gillette stadium this morning. >> reporter: good morning. it's the first time since 2002 that the patriots will kick off training camp

what a beautiful start. we're going to warm up quickly though. some building clouds through the afternoon. 75 degrees in boston right now. upper 60s worcester, lawrence at 68 , nashua at 63 right now. cooler readings in places like plymouth at 58, same in keen. the upper 50s here in orange and then lower 60s from norwood to taunton. 70s on the cape and islands. a beautiful start to the day. the dew point in the 60s to low 70s. it's down right tropical on cape cod dew points creep up this afternoon. it will be a muggy day over all. satellite and radar quiet for now though. there's just an isolated risk of a thunderstorm. 90 to 95 for boston, taunton and plymouth. from new port rhode island back over to the outer cape in the mid to upper 80s today. so a warm one for us there but not as hot as everybody else.

afternoon. there's not a lot of green on the map. it's places like central vermont back up into western maine that see the most numerous thunderstorms today. we see one or two with just some downpours and maybe some brief lightning. the evening hours are focused north and west of boston from the route 2 corridor back in through the marimac cal vi. -- valley. tonight a lingering shower and lows back into the lower 70s. we don't get out of the 70s tomorrow. heading our direction. notice it's pushing through southern ohio right now. there's some heavy downpours in this. this moisture is going to work in our direction and we're going to get some rain that arrives by the time we get to tomorrow morning. look at it, it's heavy rain at that, particularly south of the mass pike. look at the deep yellows and purples in here. some embedded thund every. -- thunder. we're going to watch for localized flooding tomorrow. with the lack of rainfall if we get

this is right by the gas tanks, northbound from the split to columbia road that's where we're seeing the most volume this morning. somerville police will hold a protest tonight in the battle over a black lives matter sign at city hall. it's being called a peaceful rally. the police union wants the banner replaced with one that says all lives matter. the banner has hung outside of city hall for a year now. last night the mayor of somerville >> this vehicle the head of the somerville patrolmen's association penned a letter insisting that we take down the black lives matter banner. essentially asking our city to pick a side. let me be clear, that banner will not come down. >> a banner at the city's police station honors officers killed in the line of duty. today a wilmington man who

started on the porch area. that's where the call came in. they said that the fire was heavy on the front porch. that's what fire crews found when they arrived here. we do know that all of the residents were able to make it out of this home safely which is certainly the good news. the american red cross tells me they are assisting four of the 17 residents who were displaced. this fire did reach three officials here tell me that's partly because of how hot it was over night. they wanted to make sure they had enough firefighters to rotate in and out. everyone made it out okay which is certainly the good news here. we do know one firefighter received a minor back injury but other than that certainly a much better situation than what that video shows. nicole jacobs, wbz this

poland for the 31st world youth day. police are investigating this bad accident . a driver cash intoed a woman -- crash ed into a woman on the street, hit a curb and flipped his car. he was under the influence and knew the woman he hit. both are in the hospital with serious injuries. troopers are investigating a deadly wrongway crash on 695. -- on 495. a woman was driving on th when she crashed into another driver. both died at the scene. preventing overdose deaths will be the new focus at fire houses across boston. the boston public health commission is working with the fire departments to hold a series of community events teaching people how to recognize the signs and symptoms of an overdose and when to use narcan. tonight it's at the d street fire house. a warning from police after two teens were rushed to the

-- your evening commute. a lingering shower over night tonight. tomorrow's rainfall down through the lower portion of the tennessee river valley and ohio valley. look at where it's moving. off to the northeast slowly. that rain is going to arrive for us tomorrow. look at it too. it's going to pour for a time, particularly along the south coast, along and south of the pike. i do think there will be a lull in the middle here. where exactly that sets up, little if any rainfall during the day tomorrow. some communities may get an inch or two inches along t lesser amounts the further north you go. lingering showers will taper off. the heaviest rainfalls tomorrow morning. projected rainfall amounts this is one depiction but the blues and purples and reds indicate over an inch and a half of rain along the south coast to cape cod. because of that our temperatures will be cooler. running in the 70s tomorrow. 7-day, the mid 80s on saturday, lowering humidity.

we have breaking news on the roads right now. a deadly crash on 495 north in franklin. we just learned that one person was killed when a car went off the road and ended up in the roads near exit 17. state police and fire crews are on the scene using thermal imagery making sure there's no other victims. drivers expect long delay it is. -- long delays. at the gas tank you are jammed from the split up to columbia road. stop and go between exit and 20 there. checking the ride from the north this morning, more bad problems. you can see right there the connector totally filled in. there's an accident on 93 southbound just before the connector. that has you backed up all the way up to
