underway. the big names including tom brady all out on the field getting ready for another super bowl run. that's what we're hoping for in boston. the patriots just wrapped up their first practice. >> they are ready to get to, who. we have team coverage. >> patriots train ing ing camp is finally underway and we have a the heat, the fans and we have the controversy. let's get right to the controversy. for now it seems that tom brady and jimmy garoppolo, nothing has changed. tom took his snap, jimmy took his reps and there was nothing out of the ordinary. it is the first day of camp so we'll see how the plays out. we had a wide receiver sighting. the crowd was here and they were in full force. a lot of signs in

the biggest threat for localized flooding in some of the torrential downpours, embedded thunderstorms can't be ruled out with gusty winds and some of the heaviest rain. looks to be 1 to 2 inches of rain. not a drought buster by locally higher amounts may be buster. boston and worcester are included in the area of severe drought. this was just updated this morning by the department of agriculture. 8.2 below the average in worcester, 8 inches in boston. some relief in terms of rain and the heat tomorrow. 90 degrees in boston right now. at 12:05 it's 91. 91 norwood, same in fitchburg. we will gain a couple more degrees before the oofrn is done. rain advancing through pennsylvania that will work in our direction. before that maybe an isolated storm. by the

storms may fire. look at that tomorrow morning, areas of rain. it's going to pour along the south coast. when you get north of the mass pike lighter areas of rain that tapers off during the late afternoon and evening. through the weekend in just a couple of minutes. >> thank you. now the a good time to remind you about the cbs boston weather app. it has the radar, forecast and weather alerts and all for free. search cbs boston in your google or apple app stores. two people lucky this afternoon after escaping out of a burning home in east ham. they woke up around 4:00 and found their home engulfed in flames. they made it out but had to be taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. authorities say there were no smoke detectors in that home. firefighters had a tough time fighting the flames because hydrants had not yet been install in the area. they had to truck in 45,000 gallons of water. the cause of

fire forces 17 people out of their homes. everyone in the winthrop road building made it out safely. one firefighter was hurt but expected to recover. new at home, a sinkhole swallows part of a car in long meadow. the massive hole opened up on lou wind. you can see the entire front end of the car fell in. a water main break caused that sinkhole . the street is now shut down. state investigate a deadly accident on 495 in franklin. a truck rolled over in the northbound lanes at 6:00 landing in the woods near exit 17. the driver was the only person inside that truck. police are not releasing the victim's identity. now to a developing story, a man shot in the head in lynn and two others hurt in that shooting. now police are trying to i if out who opened fire on forest street. at last check all three victims were still alive. authorities are not releasing any information about

mayor walsh said the city will review all day programs and camps by the end of the week. a water rescue attempt turns deadly. police say a man went into the marimac river last night but got in trouble. a man and woman jumped fro to rescue him and all three had to be pull from the water. the first man who jumped in died. somerville police union wants the black lives matter banner replaced with one that says all lives matter at city hall. it has been hung outside city hall for almost a year. last night the mayor defended his decision to keep it there. >> this week the somerville police officers and the head of the somerville patrolmen's association penned a letter incesting that we -- insisting that we take down

where's the relief? cape cod. it's humid but at least in the middle 80s for most of us. 76 than duct right now. -- nantucket right now. the dew points vary. it gets soupy along the south coast. if you zoom out the view it's soupy back to the south and west. there's a lot of sticky air from pittsburgh back down to baltimore and this humid moist air is going to work in our direction and it comes with rain. it's expandinro right now. notice there's some reds in here. there's a lot of moisture. notice the motion off to the north and east. as this front across northern new england sags south ward it's going to move the rain into new england during the day tomorrow. maybe an isolated storm or two this evening north and west of boston. non-severe, just a quick rumble. tomorrow at 4:00 a.m.

many communities will be wet, particularly along and south of the pike. i think there will be sort of a lull in action northern massachusetts, southern new hampshire. the further north you go the high risk of getting less amount offense rain. we -- amounts of rain. we need it because of the drought. tomorrow evening just a lingering shower or twochl two -- or. maybe less north of the mass pike. the heaviest downpours are likely to see over 2 inches in spot. localized flooding will be a concern tomorrow. there could be a few thunderstorms on the stronger side. saturday looks beautiful. there will be additional showers that come back into the mix on sunday. doesn't look like a watch out but saturday is the

highs tomorrow no more 90s. no 80s. 70s for high temperatures with that rain coming in. it is going to be quite humid. juicy storm. a pop up shower or thunderstorm, the same for monday. no more 90s but middle to upper 80s. >> danielle, thank you so much. new concerns this noon about the spread of the zika virus. florida health officials are investigating two more cases of zika. they y to infected countries or have contact with anyone who did p -- who did. they are looking into two other similar cases. experts say this raises the possibility that mosquitos in the u.s. have started to spread the virus. this is no secret that sitting around all day is bad for you. we're learning how much it takes to undo the damage.
