today. an escaped inmate back in custody and facing new charges. his daring moves and surprising encounter with one woman. wbz anna meiler is live in man chester with a clough -- manchester with a closer look at what happened. anna. >> reporter: and that inmate will be in court this morning facing new charges of escape and attempted theft. imagine how shocked people were at this gas station when they saw man in a orange jump suit and handcuffs heading their way. >> he was running towards me so store for help. >> reporter: melissa bolts into the gas station convenience store. and in shock by what she sees coming towards her. >> there was a gentleman coming out of the woods. he tried to jump over the guardrail and tripped and stumbled along because he was wearing shackels and hand cuffles cuffs and bright orange jump suit. >> reporter: she says when she came back outside she found the man inside her he car rummaging through her belongings.

yesterday. police discovered the bones at the national grid property. they likely belong to the same woman whose skull was found earlier this month. investigators are trying to id the woman and calling her death suspicious. an update on e.coli outbreak linked to a ground beef plant in new hampshire. two people from massachusetts are among the 14 who got sick. official say the source of the bad beef was linked to a processing plant in averhill. new warning this morning after west nile virus is detected in the mosquitoes inarlington. risk level is raised in arlington belmont bostoncambridge newton and watertown. health officials encourage everyone to stay indoors during peak hours and wear repellant cases. also new this morning there's an investigation underway after 10, nonnative turtles were found dead in quincy marsh.

rain in through central massachusetts and we have downpours stretching through southern new hampshire pouring from new i switch and new boston and about to come into manchester and through concord along interchange of 93 and 89. this will continue to drift off. depending where you are no matter where you are stepping out warm and muggy. lower 70s for a lot of the rest of us and dew point is in the 70s too. so that means we have patchy fog on came cod and this is a truly tropical air mass. what i think will happen is a couple different things number one the area of rain over southern new england right now will tend to kind of shriveling up. what happens after that -- shriveling up. -- shrivel up. it picks up along the south

heaviest rain may stay offshore and then the sun breaks out during the afternoon. that will fuel a few additional showers. mainly north and west of boston through the afternoon. they will be scattered in nature and could be a rumble of thunder in there's well it canly manchester to the route 2 corridor outside 495 this evening. the skies will partially clear although at the coastline there will be lingering clouds parting for some sunshine tomorrow and yes there's a few showers around this weekend. number one no saturday or sunday. but you will have to dodge a couple rain drops. saturday, looks to be late in the day. most morning and afternoon is dry. no problems. for the evening away from the coast we get into a couple showers or two sunday morning a pocket of rain through new hampshire and vermont that fizzles out and sunday looks to be mainly dry and showers willreturn into the start of next week. humid areas of rain tapering the showers upper 70s we are in

areas of fog out over cape cod with areas of downpours focused north of boston right now. that's where the heaviest rain is coming down. the city one lone downpour crossing 128 near dedham and this developed in the next 15 minutes last 15 minutes and that's the thing today. there's so much moisture in the atmosphere there's chance of a downpour pouring right now crossing 93 and andover and back up along 95 from boxford and georgetown east through raleigh and bur. bury port. newbury port. brookline and millford and new boston manchester getting into these and it's been a while since we have driven in rain like this. so there will be areas of reduced visibility and big puddles on the roads. 77 in boston right now. it's warm start. a lot of heaviest rain is likely to miss us just to the south. between now and late morning, a

8th. and now the convention are over jon keller looks closer at what we learned from both events. >> reporter: good morning. so, what did we learn from the two weeks of political convention rhetoric we endured or enjoyed. first and foremost we we learned a recorning lesson the national party -- recurring lesson the national party convention jumped the shark there are a handful with value which can be compressed in two nights instead of four. doing so could reduce the public cost of providing security for the things which runs into the millions of dollars. but for those with the patience to watch a good chunk of them these convention offered useful information. whoa learned within each party, there are a sizable null of activists who -- number of activists who have zero

details. quite a story anna. >> reporter: and kathryn that inmate will be back in court this morning facing new charges of escape and attempted theft. you can imagine how shocked people were at this gas station here behind me when they saw a man in an orange jump suit and handcuffs heading their way. surveillance video shows melissa do a double take before boating inside the gas station to get help and you can see the inmate in handcuffs and shackels walking through the parking lot. melissa says when she came looking for her keys. police say the inmate 50-year- old kevin gearhart escaped from the hillsborough house of corrections nearby. p melissa describes for us what she saw. >> it was gentleman that was coming out of the woods. he he tried to jump over the guardrail and kind of tripped and stumbled along because he was -- because he was wearing shackels and handcuffs and a bright orange jump suit crazy and i am glad it's probably a

heavy rain that is mainly going to miss touts south. unfortunate news is a lot of it will pass to the south of the cape and islands what happens is area of rain that's over southern new hampshire and central massachusetts fizzles out between now and late morning. so then we are mostly cloudy through midday. showers on the cape and islands and the sun breaks out. and that will be the fuel for a few additional showers to pop during the afternoon. you will notice there are -- they are hit or miss duringevening there may be thunder you may hear a quick rumble heading into the late afternoon and evening. area of low pressure to the front passes to the east tonight. storm looks good. we start with clouds and patchy fog. partly sunny skies but notice a couple showers do develop and mainly late in the day and mainly away from the coastline. otherwise, saturday night into sunday there will be a batch of rain from new hampshire through vermont and then the rest of
