ride sharing services in massachusetts could face new regulations. >> state lawmakers passed new rules overnight. it would force ride sharing drivers to undergo a two-step background check. the first by the company can followed by a second from the state. for the first time it would allow companies like uber and lyft to pick up passengers from logan airport. ride sharing companies will be charged 20 cents per ride that money will be split among city or town where rides started and state and fund to help industry literal-- they urged governor -- lyft urged the governor to sign it. overnight lawmakers passed an energy bill that seeks to increase wind and hydro power over the next decade. supporters says it will reduce grown house gas emissions and some say the bill doesn't go far enough. that bill also goes to governor baker's desk for approval. today a swampscott man charged with arson is due in court.

this morning. >> halfway over you guys. we have half the summer left let's look at the positive. good morning. tracking a little rain left over in southeastern massachusetts pushing off the mid and outer cape right now. we also have a couple sprinkles pushing through essex county and dampp weather overnight. so be aware of the fact you will encounter wet roadways in spots. mid and outer capes a few downpours pushing through or liens and chatham. pouring on nantucket. that too is going to be pushing offshore in the next 30 minutes or so. 69 in 67 lawrence and manchester and chatham at 67 and mid-60s from worcester to keene and dew points in the mid-60s even upper 60s. so aid little humid and muggy as you step outside the door and it's not going to be that warm today. we will gain a few degrees this afternoon. and things will be staying unis eteled -- staying unsettled. areas of rain through upstate new york and vermont. so the one batch pushes

breaking overnight reports of an armed robbery at cricket club in chestnut hill. police areer is rpg near the longwood -- police are searching the area near longwood ies-- and a busy night for police in dedham. they are working to repair a water main break. the water department and massdot are on the scene. two lanes are shut downright now. police investigating after two people died paddle boarding on a new hampshire lake. the 59-year-old victims a man and a woman are from merrimack new hampshire and police say the two were paddle boarding on everett lake when one had trouble. both ended up in the water rescuers found the woman and
