of a possible armed robbery that happened a short time ago. i want to get you to video from overnight. you can see authorities with flashlights searching for clues searching for possibly suspects in the case. we are hearing reports that we are trying to confirm that one of two people might have been wearing a mask and the other wearing a hoodie. we are also hearing reports that someone might have been slashed with a knife as a result of this possible ar confirm this information for you but when we are hearing now is a possible armed robbery here at the long meadow cricket club. we have calls out and we will bring you new information as soon as we get it. live in chestnut hill nicole jacobs wbz this morning. ride sharing services in massachusetts could face new regulations. state lawmakers pass the new rules overnight. anna meiler is live with the

anna. >> reporter: and lawmakers worked into the early morning hours to pass bills before the end of the legislative session. among those the state's first regulations for ride haling companies like uber and lyft. lawmakers agreed that drivers should undergo a 2-step background check one by the company and one by the state. plus a big win for the company the bill doesn't include a measure to ban uber and lyft drivers from picking up passengers at logan airport and will be charged 20 cents per ride. the money will be shared among the town or city where the ride originated and the state transportation department and a fund to help the taxi industry a spokesperson for lyft praised the legislation saying in part people of the commonwealth made it clear they want ride sharing and we appreciate thoughtful process the legislature followed to ensure safe and affordable transportation options are available across

and saying he looks forward to reviewing all the bills that land on his desk. reporting live from the statehouse anna meiler wbz this morning back to you. >> thank you. also overnight lawmakers passed an energy bill seeking to increase the amount of wind and hydro power in massachusetts over the next decade. supporters say it will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and but some say the bill doesn't go far enough. that bill also goes to the governor's desk for approval. happening today a swampscott man charged with investigators say timothy brosnan set his house on fire. according to neighbors he stood with firefighters and watched as the home went up in flames. the fire started in the garage and quickly spread throughout the home. a man arrested for stopping his car in the middle of the road and urinating next to it is due in court today. state police say the 26-year- old is facing charges more than just urinating in public. they are investigate -- the investigation turned you have oxycodone heroin and cash. he will be arraigned on

trampoline parks gain popularity. injuries are sky rocking. researchers at connecticut children's medical center in hartford found there were nearly 7,000 emergency room visits in 2014 up from less than 600 in 2010. among those most likely to get hurt teenage boys and they get lower extremity sprains and fractures. >> i know a 16-year-old boy who got a angle sprain last week at a local trampoline park d too. >> yeah exactly rambunctious boys that's the problem. >> so i went to one of those trampoline parks and i was sore from jumping up and down. >> from the workout. >> yeah i was out of shape to go on that for 20 minutes. checking the tropics. we are getting to the time yearthings start to heat up the peak of tropical season. this is likely to become earl later today or tomorrow.

the department says it will provide up to 100 cameras to patrol officers for a 6-month test. commissioner william evans says he was aiming for an august launch but the cameras have not been purchased yet. boston is one of the largest departments in the country that doesn't use the body cameras. portsmouth police say side the police department was tagged with the words i am drunk. officers quickly worked to remove the graffiti. the department is asking for the public's help in the mbta has a big job hole to fill. according to a review by boston globe half of the top shops in the engineer and maintenance departments is opened. 18% of the mbta highest positions are also vacant. several officials and observers say that there's a number of reasons for the vacancy from a small job pool to low wages and aging work force. officials say the hiring process needs to be fixed. there's a new way to
