their own but four others were trapped until firefighters were able to pull them out. a 7-year-old boy suffered significant injuries. >> i heard a boom. >> it felt like a car hit the building. >> it was a loud explosion and i thought something hit our house. when i ran out it was a big cloud of smoke out the front and the back. >> four of the victims under the age of 16 are being treated at area hospitals. doctors assault are expected to rv expected to survive. the cause is under investigation. a construction worker in newton treated for serious injuries after getting stuck in a concrete mixer. firefighters tell us the worker slipped his leg got twisted in the machine at a site on la grange street yesterday a coworker turned off the equipment when he could hear the man screaming. it took rescuers about 2 hours to take apart the mixer to free him. he is in the the hospital this

south shore. four beaches are closed to swimmers. jim smith is closed. >> reporter: rip tides a fact of life throughout the new england coast we are here at the beach one of a few beaches that were closed by the town scituate. along with others but let's show you video to show you what we are talking about. over the years riptides and rip currents have been an occasional issue throughout the south shore north shore and throughout anywhere where there's an ocean. these are from nan as it ket when -- nan as itet. a hundred people are killed by rip currents when they are caught on the current get tired and panic and drown. experts say if you are caught

this comes as the department is trying to get officers to follow through with a request of its own. body cameras by september 1st. commissioner william evans spoke to questions at a public meeting last night where community activists voiced concerns. some questioned why only officers who volunteer will be in the program. and why they will be allowed to look at their body camera footage before writing police reports. >> sometimes an officer in the heat can can get clouded and he may not see things and his memory and looking at the video will get the best accurate pitcher. >> he says it's been a tough sell for officers too. he wanted 100 officers to volunteer for the pilot program but that hasn't happened yet. if he doesn't have volunteers by september 1 then the department will simply assign them. happening today, the former fbi agent who lied during whitey bulger's trial will be
