traffic in milton from exit 11 gran granite avenue to exit 15 at columbia road. almost 30 minutes from 128 in braintree to downtown. we have no delays on the t or the commuter rails. chris kathryn back to you. >> thanks. breaking news overnight all delta airline flights are grounded. >> they are dealing with a system wide outage. nicole jacobs is live in logan airport with what we need to know. nicole. >> reporter: chris kathryn it's just that with a mountain of headaches. i want to direct are attention to the mobile kiosk that was rolled out right now by a delta worker. you can see he is doing his best to assist the hundreds of passengers who continue to wait in this delta line. and if you look just past that gentleman you can see the passengers go as far as the eye can see. just about 15 minutes ago there was an announcement that there

apparently an hour ago they made a similar announcement that the system would be up and running in an hour but that has come and gone. right now we are told it's really only affecting the international flights but they have grounded all flights as a result of this. and you can see just how much of an impact it is having at logan at this delta counter. we did get a chance to speak with a couple of passengers. here's what they had to say through the frustration. connection. the system wide problem. >> reporter: you can see this has just kind of a domino effect in terms of what happens here. taking a live look these workers are really doing their absolute best to get the lines movie and help the passengers in all they can. but not only are you dealing with the initial flights you are dealing with connecting flights. all across the country so this

headache for all of these passengers. we will have another update for you coming up in about 25 minutes. chris kathryn back to you. >> very long lines there thank you nicole for that update. also breaking overnight, an american kidnapped overseas as the security official in afghanistan says 5 gunmen wearing military uniforms abducted an american and an australian in kabul. it happened near the university of afghanistan both are believed to be university employees. also new overnight, a car slams into a look at the vehicle that hit top liquors on hyde park avenue. there's minor damage to the building no word on any injuries or if that driver is going to be facing charges. a developing story now a massachusetts native shot and killed out west. his family says this happened while playing pokemon go. anna meiler is live with the latest for us. anna. >> reporter: chris calvin riley was lowell native known as baseball star who dreamt of making it to the big leagues.

but on saturday night he was shot to death. family and friends of 20-year- old calvin riley are mourning the loss of the lowell native who was shot and killed at aquatic park in san francisco. riley's family moved to california from massachusetts etch was a star baseball player in high school and -- he was a star baseball player in high school and went onto play for delta college. >> at tourist crimes like breaking into cars. >> reporter: riley's family says was playing pokemon go at the time he was killed. national park service spokesman says that it's rare for them to see this kind of violence in the popular tourist area. police say the gunman didn't try to be rob riley and didn't take any of his belongings. it's unclear if the attack had anything to do with the pokemon go game in which players visit real landmarks in order to capture digital cartoon

murder last month. but new reports say that he is a person of interest in the case. 19-year-old sabrina desilva was shot and killed july 3 outside her apartment in new bedford. two women are recovering after a stray bullet hit them in worcester. they were sitting in an enclosed pour are on -- porch on perry avenue saturday evening when bullet went through the siding. police say the bullet went through one woman's leg and grazed another woman's back. officers say the women the intended targets. they are looking for the us expect. a developing story in kansas. a 10-year-old son of a state lawmaker died while riding the world's tallest water slide. it shut down today as police investigate what happened. brian webb has more. >> reporter: a day after the tragic death of caleb schwab at the water park officials have yet to determine what happened. >> a full fection is -- investigation underway.

norwood and even taunton now it's 54 degrees. so, 60s on most of cape cod and bright sunshine all over the place and we are looking at dew points in the 50s and they will stay there so that meanshumidity will be low today and low again tomorrow. with a high today going up to the mid-80s. perhaps few spots 86 to 88 but right along the coast, this afternoon may switch from a light land breeze around 5 to 10 miles an hour to a light onshore breeze and that won't penetrate that far inland. water temperatures so high it doesn't cool the air that much at the coast even when you have a sea breeze. drops the temperatures just a tad just a couple notches. we have a high tide at 4 this morning. and a low tide before 10 this -- high tide at 4 this afternoon low before 10 this morning. and we got a few clouds going across the northern mountains with a couple isolated showers up there this afternoon. and it should stay essentially sunny down here with just few

medford between roosevelt circle and the t and commuter line are running on time. more than 100 boston teachers could be begin the school year without classroom assignments. an estimated 102 teachers are displaced dues to budget cuts and declining enrollment but because of the union status they have to be kept on the payroll costing taxpayers 8 million dollars in salary and benefits. the school system hopes to reduce that number by the start of the school year. the last all girls cathol doors. elizabeth seton academy in dorchester won't open in september. the school blames a drop in enrollment and financial problems for the closing. there will be a meeting in the next couple days to help students transition to other catholic schools. it's 6:17. ona majority of boston area college are not paying the full amount asked for municipal services like police and public works. the payments are part of a

welcome back. boston newbury street is jammed with traffic but yesterday the high end retail row became a playground for pedestrians. for one day the street was closed to cars to try to boost pedestrians track and business for stores. >> it's a great thing city to showcase the city. that's what happens here today. and there's going to be stow over to boylston street and theshops will benefit as well. the business will probably come to us saying we want to do it more next year. >> should be like that every day. >> the mayor says they will study how yesterday impacted sales to see if it's worth doing again next year. >> kind of nice not to have to dodge cars. >> it looks different. it's wide open. >> yeah. yeah. >> maybe they will do it

barry. >> so far so good. good morning to you and chris and everybody out there and it's going to be a very warm day but not truly hot but we have had lot of those days so far this season with boston having had so far 13 days at 90 or higher in july alone we have had 12 of those 1 and that's crazy and, of course, we still have a long way to go through august and early september. last year we had i think it was 6 or 7 days in august when it was over 90 and about 4 in in the at least 20 for the number of days in boston before we are through this year so it's one of the hot years as we suspected it would. we forecast that back last winter that it will be a hot summer and yesterday it was hot. nudging 90. not quite making it in boston but cooled off nicely overnight from the wbz weather bug network we have three schools here school being in session not too long from now. where did summer go?

least. this morning it's 56 willow in sudbury 57 and medway in medway is 57 so nice and refreshing this morning with boston's temperature at 69. so it's little warm in urban centers like boston logan airport. dew point is low at 56 and a little northwest breeze that will probably switch to a onshore breeze so boston hour by hour today by 9 it's up to 75. and by 11 it's 78 and holding right around 80 or dropping back to 79 right at coastline this afternoon. the city itself downtown boston probably is in the low to middle 80s as will most of the region and dew points will stay low all day long and continue through tonight and tomorrow as well. and with that there should be not the too much haze clear skies to see the meteor showerspeaking thursday night and friday morning. get away from the city lights and see the the fast moving shooting stars and show should be good. there could be double what we normally see if we have optimum
