longer. >> delta blames the computer problem on a power outage. >> our flight was canceled but it wasn't on my app. we got here and then they told us it was canceled. >> reporter: susan and her family drove to boston from maine. and they are hoping to fly to a 10 day trip to wyoming. >> it's not that big of a deal. if we were in a time crunch, it would stink. >> this woman a daughter colleges. and now she has to figure out how to pick up her daughter at soccer practice -- in los angeles. >> and some are taking a different approach. >> better to be on the ground wishing you were in air than in the air wishing you were on the ground, right? >> and delta is offering free refunds to affected travelers.

a live look at boston tonight. absolutely gorgeous. there are no clouds in that shot. this isn't going to last longer. the heat moves in. anthe chance for storms this week. danielle niles is tracking the storms. >> by the time we get to wednesday. >> the average high this time of year should be 81. we're well above that for much of the week. as we head to thursday and friday -- above average temperatures. no game tonight at fenway. you can see with a live look over fenway park, the temperature is 87 degrees. the winds are gusting to 20 miles per hour. there's a breeze but it feels nice. 81 at logan airport. at the coastline, we've had the sea breeze. dew points in the 50s.

of tonight and tomorrow. 85 in manchester. and same in concord. clouds to the south. and puffy cumulus clouds producing a few quick passing showers in northern new hampshire and maine. the perseids meteor shower peaks in a few days. you may be able to see a few shooting stars. 50s in the suburbs, downtown. no issues for the morning commute. it's going to be bright and quiet. and the sunrise is 5:45. and 88 for a high tomorrow. and once again at the coastline it will be cooler. low humidity and it goes up on wednesday. we'll time out the threat for storms in just a few. a west bridgewater man is dead after a house fire he could not escape. the fire broke out this morning. 54-year-old robert murphy lived on the first floor. he could not get out.

did get out with their young child. a man accused of taking pictures up women's skirts may have been up to more. mark barry was taking the photos on friday on the bus. when police arrested him, they looked at his phone and found child pornography. he was already on probation after serving three years. state troo to find the person who stole a cruiser. someone took it from the service yard. and a few hours later. it was found abandoned at the twin city plaza in somerville. it's a spare and there were no weapons inside. a new poll in the race for the white house. hillary clinton now ahead of

cnn has combined six major polls. clinton with 49 presidential of the vote. and trump with 39%. history says whoever leads after the party conventions almost always wins with one notable exception -- when al gore lost. a plan to eliminate the estate tax and income taxes to 15%. donald trump says child care costs should be tax exempt. >> it's a conversation about how to make america great again for everyone, especially -- and i say especially for for those who have the very least. >> earlier, his campaign pledged to eliminate the country's debt in eight years.

70s in marshwood. just beautiful this evening. and cooler with the on shore wind kicking in. and 75 right now. dew points still in check. upper 40s to mid-50s. it creeps up a little bit on the came but normal impressive. >> a couple of sprinkles through the coastline of maine. there's also moisture to the south. that's an area of pr south. and the high pressure -- fair weather is is in control coming out of the great lakes and it will build overhead. there's a lot of heat building in the central united states and a piece of that will head in our direction. you can sleep comfortably. temperatures drop to the 50s for the suburbs. 66 in boston. and upper 50s in opportunity toen and bedford. and the humidity is low and you

the fresh air in. upper 70s to mid-80s. water temperatures, upper ofs to mid-70s. and high tide is coming up before 5 p.m. so just like today. with that wind off the ocean. the coastline will be a little bit cooler. mostly sunny skies and we push upper 80s and low 90s through the interior. but the high pressure is in we get early morning patchy fog and low cloud cover on the cayman islands. 7a.m. wednesday morning. and then the clouds roll in. this is a sign of the humidity coming in as well. what i'm anticipating on wednesday is scattered showers, downpours, and even a thunderstorm possible. on wednesday from late morning on ward. and then on thursday this front comes in. and there may be a pop-up thunderstorm and it may be a

thunderstorm. and the front sits over us for friday through the atwill keep thunderstorms. yankees coming to town. and 83 degrees. and cry air -- dry air looks beautiful. and there may be a few showers but we get the game in no problem. upper 80s and hot and sticky. and low 90s. 93 on friday. and looks like we'll be in the 80s through the weekend. still sticky with a couple pop-up thunderstorms. no washouts. just a chance for a thunderstorm through the start of next week. it doesn't feel like football weather. >> no, it doesn't but there's something exciting about the beginning of the season. and the preseason games carrying some weight. >> you have to figure out a game plan. >> and we'll learn some of that. steve burton is there with

a comeback. >> reporter: and everybody is trying to fight for a job when it comes to preseason. we're getting closer, t minus three days and counting. and then there's julian edelman right in the middle, right smack dab in the middle. but the good news is he's making progress each and every day and that's a good thing. yesterday edelman took to the practice fi time. and today he stepped it up a little bit more. he's doing all the things necessary. not necessil11th of august but the 11th of september. opening flight in arizona. we have more on how this week is looking. the patriots are on of the first joint practice against the saints and these sessions benefit each player in a different y. for a guy like aaron dobson, he

has been for much of the summer. we are in such a severe drought with the more muggy air and the showers we could get later this week, is it going to make a dent? >> i wish i could say it will. but for most of us it's so localized that you need a soaking rain for days. a lot of times in these severe drought situations you need some tropical disturbance to come up and drop inches of rain over a couple of da but every little bit helps. tomorrow, storm free and the humidity low and then it gets muggy. there'll be a few showers and storms around. thursday, low 90s, and same on friday. and friday through the start of next week features the chance of a shower or a storm. no washouts. but that will help a little bit especially if they hit over the same area. >> things are just brown. >> it's been a beautiful summer
