. breaking news right now at noon a high school staffer under arrest accused of sexually assaulting a student. >> the man was working with special needs students at maude inn high school. the police say the assault took pl nicole jacobs is live with the latest for us. nicole? >> reporter: the 46-year-old steven mcdonald is accused of rape and indecent assault on a child 14 years old or older, a disabled child at that. i can tell you these accusations are so graphic we can't share all of them during this broadcast, but i want to get you right to some video of mcdonald in court just a short

the alleged victim here, one of mcdonald's 16-year-old disabled students who accuses mcdonald of assaulting and raping him during trips to the bathroom where mcdonald had to assist the student. the prosecutor describes sexual acts allegedly performed on the student and the student allegedly being forced to reciprocate. mcdonald began working in the student's clam in september of 2015. it is unclear when the alleged rape and assault began, but the prosecutor says the boy told his mother about what was happening in school in late march. the prosecutors governor a possible reason as to why the boy may have been afraid to tell. >> the defendant continue usely threatened to go to the victim's home and kill his mother. the defendant would offer the victim candy on occasions in order to lure him into the bathroom. >> reporter: school officials became aware of the situation

mcdonald was placed on leave from his position. the school superintendent released a statement. it reads the indictment of mcdonald is deeply concerning to the public schools. we cannot comment further since it is -- [ no audio ] [ brief pause. no audio ] again, back in court next month. we're live, nicole jacobs, wbz news. >> nicole, thank you. also breaking, hingeham police have arrested a man for raping an elderly woman in her home. the police day donald galvin broke into the woman's home a little over a week ago.

forced open a window and climbed into the house where he raped and beat that woman. galvin is set to face a judge today. this afternoon the quiet community of princeton mass is on edge a young woman out for a run murdered. >> the police are asking residents to with extremely cautious as they try to find her killer. you spoke with the officials. >> reporter: i talked to people from the district attorney's office and from state police this morning. they didn't bring any new information on this investigation, but they did stress they want residents to remain vigilant. here in town the focus is on healing with a vigil planned here at the first church tonight. people in the small rural town of prince phon are nervous and afraid after the body of the 27- year-old vanessa marcotte was found in the woods about a half mile from her mother's house. the sources say she was naked and burned.

a police motorcycle offs ser recovering after a crash with a car that accident shut down part of the road last night. the police say the officer is expected to be okay. no one in the crash is now under investigation. and state troopers think they know who stole a police sugh that man is currently undergoing an evaluation at the hospital. they found the police suv abandoned yesterday afternoon hours after it was taken. it was not damaged and no equipment was taken from inside. and campaign 2016, donald trump is firing back as more than 50 republicans back away from their party's nominee saying he is unfit to be president.

some chicago grocery store workers won't take a robber sitting down two men walked in around closing time, pulled a gun demanding cash. the workers pounced and went after the duo chasing them out of the store. this is the second time the store workers have fought back. the last time the thieves pulled a gun on a manager a dog overboard in martha's vineyard. the passengers saw the dog paddling. the captain stopped and turned the ship around. one woman caught it all on camera as the dog swam towards that other boat where he was pulled to safety. one of the rescuers tells us the dog was reunited with his owner in falmouth. he apparently had fallen off another ferry. >> glad that dog is okay.

temperatures going over 90 degrees. there are areas northwest of boston that have been a horrendous hot summer and boston has had 13. we're probably going to have two more this week. we're not going to be anywhere near it. it may go do 80 when the wind turns more southerly. the dew point is 54. it continues to be nice and dry. through the afternoon the temperatures go slowly with the easterly wind. once it turns around more southerly it may go lower 80s by the owned the afternoon and with temperatures around 80 to 81. okay. here is where you have the temperatures now. 80s inland. you can see the wind particles coming in. the nice little sea breeze. the easily breeze that is blowing and keeping it cooler. a beautiful afternoon, and enjoy in the dew points in the 50s. 66 to 72-degree dew points. that is what is coming our way for the rest of the week. so at fenway park now, it is 78 degrees.

three games with the yankees. it should be fine at 83 degrees at fenway park early they are evening. about 77 tomorrow. there won't be any rain. in fact, the sky may become partly cloudy and hot and sticky on thursday. it is probably going to be in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees as they have that first pitch on thursday night. a lot of triple h. weather is headed our way and we have a fly by by the international ac minute at 10:04. about 55 degrees up. look to the northwest and you'll see the station tonight and also the perseid meteor showers may be visible tonight. i saw big one last night on the way to work this morning, about 2:00 to 2:30. it should be visible tonight and then after that we're going to have haze and higher humidity. the lows in the upper 60s. quite a bit milder than last night. highs tomorrow will be mostly
