rape out loud. uber driver darnell booth fell to the ground, and i could hear him crying. this was the 34-year-old before he headed into court. darnell booth was reluctant to get out of the car to face our cameras, he then covered his face with our shirt, as officers escorted him to face rape charges. police arrested the dorchester last night for an incident that allegedly happened in everett last month. prosecutors say booth drove a added her on snapchat. a few days later, prosecutors say the 16-year-old victim missed her bus to school. they say booth asked her on snapchat if she needed a ride, and she accepted. prosecutors say he climbed into the backseat of his car and then raped her. the prosecution says booth is innocent and beside himself, and looks forward to the day

also breaking, two people are dead and several others are missing after a massive explosion sparks an inferno at a maryland apartment building. those flames lit up the night sky in silver springs just outside of washington, d.c. nearly three dozen people, including three firefighters were hurt. people inside hung from the windows in an attempt to escape the fire. nearby neighbors jumped into action, even before the fire department arrived. >> multiple sc made by the civilians, prior to the fire department arrival, using a ladders, and painter trucks as an example. >> firefighters at a station about a mile away say they actually felt the explosion even before the 911 calls started coming in. breaking news in wakefield, where a pickup truck has been hit by an inbound commuter train. the driver of the truck went around the lower gates just before it was hit.

we're told there are no injuries on the train. we do not know the condition of that pickup truck driver. although med flight was called to the scene. we're going to continue to follow this breaking news story for you, and bring you updates as soon as we get them. the other story today, the heat. >> it's expected to be one of the most uncomfortable days of the year. temperatures soaring into the 90s, but the humidity is going to make it feel a whole lot warmer, and it's sticking around. pamela gardiner is here with mo the humidity is high. temperatures are nice and hot, and we have a heat advisory in effect through 7:00 this evening. this is some dangerous heat here. especially the next seven days, as we have overnight lows, right around 80 degrees. 91-degrees from boston to manchester. 92 in lawrence. taunton, 89 degrees. dew point temperatures running

anytime you get dew point temps above 65, you start to notice it, it becomes sticky and uncomfortable. it becomes oppressive. when the factor in the humidity, it feel more like 96 in boston. 9 # -- 98 in nashua. our heat index values will be right around 100. when will this heat break? it's going to be a while. friday, saturday, and sunday, still in the 90s. some cooler temperatures on the way. also tracking a chance for some rain and some storms the next few days. i'll go through the hour by hour timing in just a bit. because of these high temperatures that pamela is mentioning, the city of boston has created a heat emergency from now through saturday. it's also a good time to remind you, you can keep track of weather anytime you like on the

family members tell wbz, the estranged boyfriend of the tenant is responsible. >> what are you doing? he said oh, stay away, stay away. old lady. >> reporter: gabriel john's godmother is 83. she was stabbed in the hand. but her 52-year-old daughter got it much worse. >> one wound here and she got 30 wounds in the head. and face, and stuff. >> reporter: stabbed dozens of times for no a short distance away, authorities found that estranged boyfriend. he's identified as 37-year-old emanuel louis. the tenant, and a child in that basement apartment were unharmed. but for the unprovoked attack on the two women upstairs, louis is charged with attempted murder. and that arraignment has not happened at this point, we're told the hold up now is waiting

boston, under extreme drought conditions. we're 7.6 inches below rainfall where we should be from january 1. from burlington to chonsford, you have extreme drought conditions. it's going to get worse as the days progress. this did not take into account the rainfall that we had from the last two days, so keep that in mind. that update every thursday. heat advisory today. currently, until 7:00 p.m. feels like temperature right around 100 degrees. and uncomfortable for at least the next few days. temperatures now in the 90s in most spots. worcester at 94. boston to 91 degrees. 91degrees in manchester. 85degrees even for chat ham. dew point temperatures around 70 degrees. it's soupy out there, it's uncomfortable, you can tell when you breathe it in, you can feel the humidity in the air. 96degrees for our heat index
