no word on any injuries in the crash. police are trying to figure out what caused it. the highway is now reopened. also breaking overnight a. flight from boston to sacramento diverted because of turbulence. the plane landed safely in rapid city south da cova 22 -- dakota. 22 passengers and crew members were checked out. one passenger telling us the turbulence was so severe there were cracks in the overhe investigation underway after three police officers personal vehicles were tampered with. the latest incident happened wednesday in a police parking lot in east boston a. two lug nuts were missing from one of the tires. that was the third time in less than a months. in the two earlier incidents loosened lug nuts caused damage

field. julie loncich look at what went wrong. >> reporter: surveillance cameras capture the violent impact. >> at the again i was drying -- beginning the way crying and shaking and calling 911. >> reporter: a pickup truck veered around a gate while the signal sounded and was truck by -- struck by a commuter rail train traveling 30 miles per hour. drivers stopped for the train couldn't believe what they were watching. >> all of a sudden, the white pickup truck came out of i di nowhere and the train hit it and it went down. >> reporter: the train pushed the truck 100 yards before it could finally be brought to a stop. passengers on board were not injured but were certainly startled. >> it was -- we were going along normally and there was bump and everything stopped. >> reporter: the 70-year-old driver was transported to the hospital by medflight with serious injuries. for a while his truck remained attached to the front of the train. >> it was so quick.

several vehicles were involved in this crash. no word on injuries. we will have an update in about 10 minutes. also breaking overnight, a crash on 128 in newton four vehicles involved with this. one of them caught on fire. no word on any injuries right now. police are trying to figure out what caused that crash. 128 is back opened. a rhode island father charged with neglect. police say he left his 3-year- old in a hot car. according to our sister station in providence, the boy was crying and sweating it was 9 # degrees -- 93 degrees outside at the time. father had -- the father had taken another child to a doctor's appointment 30 minutes earlier. windows were cracked and car was not running. the boy was taken to the hospital as a precaution. lawmakers in massachusetts have passed a bill to protect pets left in hot cars. under the legislation first responders and good samaritans can break into a car if an

for this. the bill goes to the governor to sign. an uber driver charged with rape colap as prosecutors lay out the case against him. prosecutors say darnell booth raped a 16-year-old passenger in an everett parking lot and drove her to school. the defense claims there are big holes in the girl's story. but a judge ordered booth held without bail until at least next week. prosecutors say booth has a long criminal record. but-- but uber says that didn't come up and all drivers go and he passed the screening check based on federal and state guidelines. laws only allow us to look back 7 years on a person's record. it's not an uber background check. we follow state and federal guidelines. boston police are searching for several teenagers who roughed up and robbed a woman in the back bay. officers say the victim was walking down marlboro street tuesday night when drupe pay-- group assaulted her and stole her phone. the teens took down towards charlesgate.
