macleod. >> and i'm kate merrill. tomorrow the temperatures will be back up into the mid 90s and pamela gardner is here with the first look at the forecast and pamela a very busy night. >> 'yeah it is and we had a bit of a break from the heat at least for today but tomorrow the heat returns. first doppler radar where we have a new severe thunderstorm warning in effect for southeastern worcester county. and this storm is moving to the south and east, slightly at about oh 15 miles per hour. packing with it the potential for torrential rainfall and lightning and some thunder and of some 60-mile-per-hour wind gusts as it heads to the east. the other radar here to show you the time of arrival. around belkham at about 6:04 and 6:09 in franklin and rentham and that will continue to slowly push to the east as about 15 miles per hour. so as we put the other radar back on here i want to show you we're dealing with some other areas of rain as well to the north but those are actually drying up as they head eastward. and they're heading east into

the cluster of some storms that has erupted across southern worcester county until 6:30 p.m.. be aware any storm that develops could produce some very highway rainfall. temperatures right now vary from place to place. 68-degrees in boston and 74 worcester but the heat just to our west and the heat returns tomorrow with highs soaring into the mid- and upper 90s with a heat index temperature in the low 100s. heat advisory posted for tomorrow afternoon. coming up when we may see a break from the heat and maybe the storms ken? all right pamela thanks and don't forget for weather updates anytime you should download cbs boston weather app. you can get live radar and video forecasts right on the scene or tablet. -- phone or tablet. police hunt for a second suspect in a home invasion and burglarly there in brookline. >> it happened on a home on brigs road.

tonight for us with the story. >> reporter: police here are on the lookout for that second suspect indeed. they say these two men targeted a very quiet neighborhood. not far from right here at brookline police headquarters. griggs park is a peaceful oasis tucked into a corner of brookline. but police were busy here friday. they were in an unmarked car when authorities say two suspicious men got their attention. according to investigators, one of the men began walking down a they were acting questionably. about three minutes later, the officers said he saw one of the suspects on nearby washington street. jumping into a car and heading toward beacon street. police followed and ended up pulling him over after they say he took a sharp turn on to a dead end street. around the same time back on griggs road, a resident called 911 reporting their home had been broken into. it was the similar location where the -- same location where the man was walking in the driveway.

arrested the driver of the car charging him with breaking and entering, they are still looking for the second suspect and no one was hurt. once again fortunately nobody hurt in this. this is an open and active investigation. brookline police would like any potential witnesses to give them a call. lye in brookline, jim smith, wbz news. >> all right jim thanks. police now say they have received about 450 tips in the murder of vanessa marcotte. they're asking for specific help locating a man who ha fresh scratches, bruises or cuts. police believe marcotte fought her attacker when he was skill sunday -- she was killed sunday out for a job in princeton. police also need to identify any cars seen on brook station road last sunday between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. now a scare on the water, a boston harbor cruise ended up hitting two other vessels. >> no one was hurt. just a little shaken up. wbz's paul burton says a mechanical problem is to blame. >> reporter: passengers on

harbor cruise ship experienced quite a jolt as the ship returned on saturday morning to long wharf in boston. the regency came in too fast and too hard hitting two other vessels at the pier one passenger said. >> one of the operators tried to assure the passengers on the top deck of the regency to cam down. they were all up on their feet looked like they were feeling a little bit uncomfortable. >> reporter: you can see the shattered glass and a damage above the water line of the boat. coast guard investigators say the crash was mechanical error. the four propulsion system failed. >> ended up scratching the rear of the other ship. and then the side of the regency ended up making contact with the dock mbta water taxi bound for charlestown. >> very frustrating especially when i wanted to go so bad on it. >> reporter: many tourists with told -- were told the ride was canceled. >> supposed to go out there and

but totally ruined. >> reporter: the other two ships had nobody on board and didn't appear to be damaged. caitlin and jimmy say even though the plans were canceled they were glad they were not on board the regency. >> oh, yeah. definitely glad we were not on the collision. >> my kind of luck, i didn't make it. my kind of luck. but i love it. >> we're going to maybe go to the aquarium and grab some lunch, it will be beat. >> they're going to haul away this boat for repairs, the crash is still under version. >> reporter: in boston, i'm paul burton, wbz news. to ai hampshire, the democratic vice presidential candidate spent the day in the granite state at the college in manchester. wbz's katie brace was live in the satellite center with what tim kaine had to say. katie? >> reporter: and kate, tim kaine went on the attack and now he and hillary clinton released their tax returns just yesterday. and he called into question why donald trump has not released his own filing. >> hey granite state. >> reporter: democratic have

supporters at st. anson's college in manchester. >> this guy will make up anything. and we are not gullible people. we're not going to let him pull the wool over our eyes. >> reporter: his speech was clearly pointed at donald trump. who held a rally in southern new hampshire last weekend. >> donald trump? he has a consistent interest that he's been focused on throughout his whole life. [ laughter ] and it is donald j. trump. it's himself. >> reporter: the democratic candidates relead clintons earned $10.6 million last year. and paid a tax rate of just over 34%. kaine took issue with trump not releasing his filing. >> it might also show us in right down to the cent how much he would benefit by the tax plan he just put down on the table. >> reporter: trump has said the irs is auditing his taxes and will release them when it's complete. >> these are both democrat.

to urge more people to vote for the clinton kaine ticket. now kaine then went the rhode island for a fundraiser, donald trump is in connecticut this evening for a rally there. reporting live in the satellite center, katie brace, wbz news. >> first responders say someone fired a gunshot at them during a call in manchester, new hampshire. american medical response paramedics were checking on a drunk person who passed out in a parking lot on elm street. ambulance employees believe the early this morning and officers searched the area but couldn't find any suspects or any evidence. no one was hurt. the ambulance company sent us this statement tonight saying -- this is something that has never happened to us before in has been chester. it's a scary situation but we are thankful our medics were not harmed. the manchester police did a great job securing the scene and searching for a possible suspect who fired the shot. also in manchester, two men are in jail after a street

six hours. it happened in a wal-mart parking lot just outside of san antonio. the infant's father told police that he forgot to drop his soon off at daycare before going to work. he is the sixth texas child to perish in a hot car this year. a dramatic scene in the south as flooding takes over much of southeastern louisiana. >> the state of emergency is in effect there as residents continue to evacuate and in fact the governor is calling this unprecedented and hiss torque. villafranca reports even more rain is on the way. >> reporter: the national guard used a helicopter to rescue a man clinging to a tree branch in louisiana saturday. more than 1,000 people had to be pulled to safety after historic flooding. >> our house is gone under. our cat -- our horses. everything is gone under back there. >> reporter: the rain started falling friday. causing rivers across the state to overflow their banks. more than 1 is hundred roads

closed. in walker a graveyard flooded and caskets were floating aboveground. the governor of louisiana has declared a statue emergency. >> -- of emergency. >> asking everyone to simply evacuate if you're supposed to do that. if you're being advised to do that. >> reporter: officials expect another four to six inches of rain to fall before it's all over. a flash flood watch remains in effect through sunday for most of southeastern louisiana. in genie holmes' neighborhood, the water is knee deep. she still trying from flooding five months ago. >> the pictures you can't replace. and they're actually still in the big green rubbermaid from last time. i never put them up. >> reporter: holmes says it's time to move. omar villafranca, cbs news, hammond, louisiana. those poor folks have the sop it is coin of -- opposite side of the coin from us. >> were dying for some rain. if like you were saying doesn't have to be a named storm.

history for a long time. crazy, crazy heavy rain there. and it's going to continue for at least the next couple of days or so in louisiana. for us, we have some isolated storm and shower chances and some severe weather but nothing widespread flooding like that. however the storms are producing very torrential rainfall and we have some flood advisories out. there's even a flash flood warning there in new hampshire. but for us here, we are experiencing a couple of storms just south of the mass pike and one storm is warned. there's a severe thunderstorm warning that continues through southeastern worcester county until about 6:15. so it's going to expire pretty soon here. that storm could produce 60- mile-per-hour wind gusts in addition to the very heavy rain right around uxbridge and continuing to build to the south but as it continues to track to the east, it's a very slow moving storm and any storm that has developed today has been very slow moving producing some flooding rain and a lot of lightning here as you get into

manchester some very, very isolated showers. nothing else severe, no watches right now. but the national weather service has just put out a discussion that they may issue a severe thunderstorm watch momentarily. so stay tuned. we'll keep you up-to-date and even after the newscast i'll be tweeting away. i'll keep you posted on that. flood advisory out until 6:30 p.m. because of those heavy rains that have moved through southern worcester county. and perhaps additional showers and storms will develop later today. as the unstable. now overnight tonight, most of us dried off and sunday morning we start off with a clean slate. mostly cloudy skies becoming mostly sunny and then more instability could help to erupt additional isolated storm development after 4:00 p.m. very isolated. not everyone will see the rain once again it's the same deal in this pattern is going to continue for the next few days and temperatures the other big story. we are much cooler today. had a marine layer almost all afternoon along the coast. so here in boston 68 degrees

to usher in more stable and cooler conditions but in fact check out the hour by hour forecast. overnight tonight, usually we cool down. we're going to start to warm up. 76 degrees by 3:00 in the morning. with that overnight low we're hitting right now in some communities. 73 degrees. but then tomorrow afternoon, temperatures skyrocket into the mid 90s. and the humidity back in full force. so a heat advisory is out for noon to 7:00 p.m. sunday. heat index 104 to 110 degrees with the actual high temperatures in the upper 90s. 97en degrees in boston. real feel going with right around 104. limit your time outdoors and definitely drink lots of water. make sure you're hydrated et cetera you know the drill. we've had this the last couple of days. today we had a break but it's back tomorrow. fenway park, going out there to the game. drink plenty of water there too. sweltering conditions and most of the day will be dry. here's seven day. we are hot monday but we're going to be dry no storm chance and lower humidity.

properly bid farewell. after a strikeout to begin the inning a-rod came off the field for a last time wearing pinstripes. his manager says not playing a- rod has been a tough decision for him and the emotions caught up to him after the game. >> you know, i think people -- some people think that i wanted to make negative decisions. but that's not the case. i have a huge heart. and -- this is the last time he plays. [ crying ] i want it to be something he never forgot. >> oh emotional stuff from joe girardi. meanwhile the red sox feel if they can use some help in the bullpen this guy is available. former sox closer jonathan papelbon was released today by the nationals. he left the sox after the 2011 season. but recently lost his closer's role in washington.
