the victim's name was not yet released. lisa? david, in salem, new hampshire, a tree came crashing down on to a moving car. this lucky driver in the end wasn't hurt and no word what took out the tree but there were gusty winds in the area. a tree in reading came down on top of this house and caused damage there. and in this just returned. she talked with jim smeght -- smith and he is live in reading. jim? >> reporter: lisa, this was not a small tree and when it came crashing down t caused a lot of damage and work crews are doing their best to get the oak off the roof. the homeowners have quite a story to tell. >> it was a crack, a loud crack. it wasn't as loud as you would think. >> reporter: joan is shocked

oak tree fell into her home in reading. it sliced a hole in her spare bedroom but no one was home. she was out for a bike ride. >> i said a few bad words and i was like, oh, i have to get the cad and dog out of the house, and i peeked in the bedroom where i could see daylight and shut the door and tried 10 times to call police because i kept dialing it wrong. >> reporter: joan's husband happened to be the dpw director in a nearby up to town and he said trees everywhere are under stress. >> i think the big trees, they're drying out. >> reporter: they cut power to the neighborhood and no one was hurt. the family has a repair bill but that's something they could live with. >> it could have been so much worse. someone could have been in the

in the woods. the leads have come in from the police tip line and we have learned that princeton police have handed over their police log, and that's a written record of every incident princeton police responded to and every call that came into the regional dispatch center in the last week and a half. vanessa marcotte worked at google and the 27-y visiting her mother here when she was out for a sunday afternoon run. there are burned sticks and debris in the area off brooks station road hours after she was reported missing. a source said she was naked and burned. yesterday, a crowd gathered for her funeral and back here today, investigators continue to pour through leads. theysay her killer would have had scratches and bruises from

before they get to us. temperature wise, can't complain. the humidity is low and showers off to the west here all drying up as they come into the drier air. tonight, a few clouds and cooler. give the temperatures a break. upper 60s in downtown boston and winds will continue to die back, and we'll watch the clouds move in from the west overnight into the day tomorrow and i sunshine is on tap for tomorrow. if anything gets going, it should be in with respect massachusetts, northern worcester county, southern vermont and new hampshire. temperature wise, up in the 80s and 90s, and the humidity will be in check. it won't be a muggy day to go along with that. at the beach, 82 to 87 and a west southwesterly please at 5 to 15 and the water
