state police say a female tractor-trailer driver rear-ended the other truck. she had to be extricated and was taken to the hospital with injuries. the other driver suffered only minor injuries. we'll take a live look at the scene right now. police, as you can see, are still there investigating. again, this is on the pike eastbound this morning right knew exit 10 only one lane is open to traffic right now. we'll continue to follow this one as it will start impacting american swimmers pulled off a plane and told to stay put in brazil. >> it comes amid questions about a reported armed robbery involving them and u.s. swimmer ryan lochte. nicole jacobs is following the developments for us. >> reporter: chris, the alleged armed robbery was big news over the weekend amid some safety concerns at the olympic games. but a brazilian judge has

their stories. newly released video of two american swimmers as they were taken off their u.s.-bound flight to answer questions of an alleged armed robbery with they two and other swimmers reported being held at gunpoint after leaving a party. >> pulled us over, they pulled out their guns. they told the other swimmers to get down on the ground. >> reporter: a judge is now questioning the account and ordering claiming discrepancies where she says lochte's story shows one robber posing a police officer who stole $400 from him. and james feigen reports they were robbed by several people. and for that, authorities want to know more. we are also getting a closer look at security camera video obtained by the daily mail. the swimmers returning to athletes' village, the judge pointed out their attitude as they arrived. following the alleged crime. noting that they didn't at all seem shaken, given lochte's

cocked it, put it to my forehead, he said get down. and i was like, i put my hands up, i was like whatever. >> reporter: lochte is now back in the u.s. with the remaining swimmers set to answer more questions today. jack konger and gunnar bentz were the two swimmers taken off the flight. they released a statement reading, in part, they were released by local authorities with the understanding that they would continue their discussions feigen is also -- or i should say feigen is also expected to face more questions today. lochte who is back in the u.s. also continues to cooperative. nbc reported last night, he now says the robber pointed the gun in his direction, rather than at his forehead. in the satellite center, nicole jacobs. a warning this morning about a peeping tom in the back bay.

ann na is live this morning. >> reporter: a resident in this neighborhood said they caught a peeping tom in the act and called the police. that person has not been caught. now there are posters all over this neighborhood warning people to be vigilant and to be on the lookout. the poster says the peeping tom has been spotted three times in all on marlboro street. police have responded and taken down statements but haven't had any luck catching the suspect. the neighborhood watch alert mugging. it says a woman was robbed and roughed up while walking her dog around 11:00 at night. the flyer also warns people to be on the lookout for a white ford pick-up truck. investigators say they have received many calls from people saying they have seen someone looking in windows. police tell us they have extra resources dedicated to this problem. if you have any information, call police. reporting live in boston, wbz this morning. back to you. >> thank you very much for the

a convicted sex offender arrested again accused of flashing women. norwood police tell us chad falcone exposed himself to two women in their early 20s near his home tuesday. he's a level two sex offender with a history of exposing himself dating back to 1989. >> quite frankly the neighbors are fed up. this has been going on for years. it's a blight to the neighborhood. fortunately the district court did set high bail. >> a judge ordered falcone held on and developing overnight, a massive wildfire still burning out of control. 60 miles east of los angeles. it's only 4% contained and right now, it's moving closer to a small resort town that's already under evacuation. cbs's tom waite has the latest. >> reporter: the inferno raged on for a second night in san bernadino county. fire crews are paying particular attention to the ski town of wrightwood where flames are

take care of it, then we can be safe because we -- we've got no place to go. the blue cut fire has already managed to scorch thousands of acres and destroy countless homes. homeowner ron able to return home yesterday to find his dogs safe and his property still standing. >> all these houses across the street are to the ground. everything is burnt to the foundation so i didn't have much hope for our place. but we got -- we were fortunate evacuation order, some homeowners have mixed feelings about leaving their properties. >> it's my home. would you leave your home? >> our cars are lined up and ready to go. >> reporter: kathy of cal fire has warned against staying behind. >> last summer we did lose some people, fire behavior changed and they refused to leave and there were lives lost. >> so far more than 82,000 people have been forced to evacuate. tom waite, cbs news.

investigating a toddler's death. officers say they were responded to a 911 call on lyndon street just before noon monday. they found a 2-year-old girl unresponsive there. an autopsy is being done to determine how the little girl died. a five week old baby boy home alone in a hot apartment. a surprise visit may have saved his life. a juvenile probation officer was making an unannounced visit to a client on a hot july day. when she arrived she heard a closed and the air conditioning unit was off. that's when she called 911 and first responders broke into the home. >> you know, sobbing and ail and just immediately picked him up and relieved he was okay. he stopped cryingly immediately. but i could feel how warm he was. and he had two blankets on him. >> when the mother returned home, she was arrested for child endangerment.

cases because of the opoid crisis. there were 661 days just last month. convicted mobster whitey bulger hopes the supreme court will save his life. he is appealing his conviction on murder and other charges. he lost a lower appeal last spring, so the u.s. supreme court is his last option. the chance of bulger's appeal even being heard, though, is slim. and family members of his victims say that's a good thing. >> i think it's a for the taxpayers. i think it's a lot of heartache and headache for the families to keep hearing about it. it's the only thing i admire about the guy, he has no quit in him. >> bulger's appeal centers around a claim that he should have been able to mention a supposed immunity deal from a federal prosecutor who died before the trial. now to campaign 2016. donald trump and his advisers

connecticut. where we have areas of rain. it look a little threatening. this will miss us. soly maybe a shower along the south coast. the bulk of the wet weather is going to be missing us to the south. so what we see are the clouds tossed in our direction from that disturbance. there will be a few more that pass by from the north and west later on this afternoon. then the skies clear out. so it's vaerg amounts of sun and clouds. an isolated shower. today m be the case again tomorrow, too. starting with sun and clouds for our friday. there may be an isolated storm but notice the focus, generally -- generally across western massachusetts, maybe connecticut as well. so a dry, mainly dry friday. high pressure kind of nosing in to our north to start the weekend. there will be some thunderstorms, there may be 1 or 2 in western new england, but the farther east you go, mainly dry. we'll get a chance of an isolated storm as we head into the second half of the weekend

years. now we're hearing the project could be way overbudget too. the state's highway administrator tells the globe, costs will not exceed the $303 million budgeted. but that figure is still almost 20% higher than the initial expected cost. as of now, work is expected to be done in september of 2018. imagine if cars could anticipate when and where you needed a ride. well students and staff at one local university are making a reality. >> ford motor group as partnered up with m.i.ty to test out an on-demand shuttle service. it already knows to pick you up. >> you want to have the vehicle sort of predicting where the people will be so they'll be there before you even, you know, request the ride. >> starting in september, a select group of m.i.t. students and professors will be able to request a ride from one of these cars that look like futuristic

people as they walk by the vehicle. >> reporter: grad student has been working on the project for two years. >> purpose isn't to track any single person but rather to get a general idea of how people are flowing throughout, say, the campus. >> reporter: by tracking people's patterns overtime, the cars will be able to predict when and where the most pedestrian traffic is on campus. >> so here we have a person being tracked in the camera, and then as he gets drawing his pedestrian paths here. >> reporter: as each car drives, it's collecting data that goes to this portable computer behind the back seat. that information eventually makes its way to ford who says they want to better understand mobility and demand in dense urban areas. >> this is an initial rollout for liker the campus which is sort of a microcosm of what traffic is in general. so by having a small set of vehicles on a small campus, then we can sort of analyze things that could eventually be

flashing women. norwood police tell us chad falcone exposed himself to two women in their early 20s near his home on tuesday. he's a level two sex offender with a history of exposing himself tating back to -- dating back to 1989. he's held on $10,000 cash bail. it's been a week and a half since vanessa marcotte's murder and we've now learned princeton police have turned over their records to state police. investigators say they have received more than 800 tips since marcotte's body was found. police say home. police think marcotte fought with her killer who they say would have bruises and scrapes. now to a wbz exclusive. foxboro police are looking for the driver who hit a young woman in the parking lot of patriot place and then took off. shelby bradley was hit around 6:00 tuesday evening. she says the driver stopped, she said she would be back, then she drove away. the 21-year-old suffered injuries to her face and a bruised femur. >> it happened really fast.
