now at 5:30, a fisherman stuck in the mud. quincy firefighters doing all they could to pull the man to safety. the mud was waist high. >> as bill shields shows us, that guy is lucky he had his cell phone to call for help. >> reporter: it was a nice morning for fishing black's creek in quincy but there was a problem. when the tide went out, the fisherman went out with it and stepped in the mud and got deeper and deeper. >> let's go back. th support weight at all. >> reporter: luckily, the fisherman had a cell phone and called 911 and the firefighters quickly laid down ladders to reach him. >> two 20-foot ground letters to have the firefighter guess out and aid him. >> reporter: two firefighters got to him. mike griffith was one of them. >> got his leg out and crawled back with him. >> reporter: the bottom here is not sandy. it's mud, and if you get stuck

dei -- dehydration. a man admits that he took items off the shovels of home depots and then returned them for cash. he was previously convicted of stealing $30,000 in a similar hide love for his patriots, attending at least three of the groups game watching parties in the last three seasons. he entered witness protection in 1999 after testifying against whitey bulger and several others. last week, he was arrested on charge that is he murdered a witness in 1993. chicago's police chief is recommending that seven officers be fired after the

officers lied about the night in 2014 when the 17-year-old was shot and killed. they claimed that the teenager threatened officer jason van dike but video does not support the claim. van dike pleaded not guilty to murder charges. the last survivor of the orlando nightclub massacre who is still in the hospital is improving. this is someone who has been in critical condition attack. doctors upgraded the patient's condition to guarded but will not say anything more or identify the gender. a gunman opened fire in early june killing 49 people. a heart-wrenching image showing the reality the crisis in syria, the face of a young boy who appears to be 4 or 5 and was pulled from the rubble of a building that was hit by airstrikes. this picture of him sitting in

could they turn the polling record? of course they could and trump's numbers in some key states are worse than initial showing but in other states he is competitive. but consider that two leading political scientists found, researching history for their book. since 1952, no candidate was leading in the polls at least two weeks after the conventions were over went on to lose the popular vote and conventions now. so what it's worth, that's the history. >> as you were talking, breaking news. the clinton foundation announced if hillary clinton is elected, the foundation will no longer accept foreign and corporate donations. this has been a major point of criticism. >> as well it should be. that's sketchy, that whole donations from foreign governments when hillary clinton was secretary of state and she's taken a beating over

and establish a rhythm quickly so his confidence will go, get back to the line and keep the chains moving. next, it would be nice to continue to see a pass rush. this one after the quarterback in the last game, and the patacy defense imposed their will. they feed to keep that going, and finally, young jacoby brissette. he is the backup quarterback to start the season and needs to be better than the average qb. he needs to be ready to start if anything happens to jimmy. also, it would be nice to see nate ebner, back from the olympic rugby team. if he makes a play, if and when, expect a huge applause. not many times the patriots

the runners down. i don't think it will be hots which is good new when is it comes to falmouth. and i have been watching a few showers popping up to the west but they are all peetering out. everything is drying up as has been the case. as we head into the night, temperatures cooling back into the 70s and 60s for tomorrow morning, the way we'll start o a mild note and back up 80s as we look towards tomorrow with the winds on shore and slightly cooler near the coastline and noticing the southeasterly winds bringing in more low ocean cloud cover. all told, it's a quiet pattern as we head throughout weekends. temperatures in the 80s both days, and we don't have rainfall in the forecast. if you are heading to the beach tomorrow, 80 to 84, and to the south shore, high temps in the low to perhaps middle 80s
