>> reporter: state police confirm one person died and two people have been taken to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries after a crash that happened here. you can see the sumner tunnel is blocked off with state police vehicles as officials reconstruct the crash. police say this happened just after 3:00 this morning. you can see a gray vehicle mangled and facing the wrong direction on the ramp to 93 northbound. there is debris all over the road. we can only see one vehicle w crash. state police are now on scene investigating how this happened. there's no doubt this will affect the early morning commute for many and-- [audio not understandable] again one person is dead and two other people hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. we don't have any information on their names or ages but we will keep you updated on details as we learn them. for now reporting live in

morning. now to a developing story woman attacked in rockport. police are searching for the man seen in the surveillance pictures. investigators say he fits the description of a suspect who attacked a woman from behind. knocked her to the ground and tried to remove her clothes. it happened on pools lane after 9 wednesday night. the victim was able to fight the man off and he took off on a bicycle. if you recognize him or have any information, call rockport police. a nun from massachusetts murdered in mi for dedicating her life to helping the poor. sister paula merrill was one of two nuns killed in the home they shared. >> police believe they may have been the victim of a robbery. jowly loncich spoke with sister paula's family in stoneham. >> reporter: when rosemarie merrill learned of her sister's murder her heart stopped. >> i don't understand why these things happened i talked to him and i said i don't know what your plan was don't know that i

weekend labor day weekend is the long range outlook but we have dew points in the upper 60s to almost 70 and it's steaming out and there we have it to the southwest. there's somewhat dry air in southern pourings of canada that we will get over the weekend. today's highs close to 88 or 89 in many spots like it has been the last few days. south facing coastal locations will be the coolest spots as it has been the last few days. and these are highs across the nation. not too far away from boston of the philadelph southward all in the 90s under big ridge of high personnure -- pressure. so the heat is not going that far away and it will come back at us next week. we have the front coming through with the dry air coming in for tomorrow and looking out in the the tropics and looking at hurricane now gaston and it's moving to the north and will not affect us and will go well east of bermuda and track out to sea so i don't think we have to worry about that at all. the next storm is moving out of
