a long hot sunday for fire crews and southbridge and more than a dozen other talents as they battle a huge six alarm fire in southbridge. >> it got out of control. the back was on fire. the fire started to spread throughout the building. the rafters caught fire. it lost control. >> reporter: one firefighter suffered heat exhaustion but there are not believed to be any serious injuries. one person rescued >> nobody was found during research of the building. we did rescue one person from the building early on. but we have no reports of anyone else in the building at this time. we have not been able to go back in the building. >> drug the chief says more than a dozen people living in the apartments may be displaced and businesses down below, some of them are in ruins. >> my hairdresser is on the bottom floor. it's a shame.

i saw them earlier and they were crying. i feel so bad for them. >> reporter: once again, no serious injuries and one person was successfully rescued but the sad thing is there is an economic cost here in southbridge. we had people living upstairs but also some businesses down below. the downtown area of this community certainly taking a hit. they are still busy right now. jim smith, children seriously hurt in this accident on the eastbound pike. the range rover they were in rolled over just before 1:00 near exit 13. paramedics flu an 11-year-old and a six-month-old to a medical center. to adults and a third child were not injured. it took emergency crews a full hour to reopen all the lanes. a teenager has been hurt -- has been seriously her in a dirtbike accident.

temperatures glorious today. cooler along the coast. a little breezy but we will take it. beautiful weather, and a great end to the weekend. this is the last weekend of august. labor day weekend is upon us next weekend. as we have approached the peak of hurricane season, the tropics are blooming in now we have three storms we are tracking here. hurricane gaston, tropical depression number 8 and tropical depression number 9. that one, formerly known as -- formerly known as invest 99 l. i want to show you the track of these. hurricane gaston is a major hurricane -- hurricane, category three of wins up to 115 miles per hour. this is well east of bermuda and will continue to go out to see. not affecting us in the eastern coast of the u.s. but we will see some of those churning waters and riptide risks.

making landfall. tropical depression 8, this one off the coast of the scare -- of the carolinas. this one could affect the outer banks of the tropical storm and it may head out to see. there is still some uncertainty if i could track close to new england. we will update you on that. with those two storms, increased surf and rip current risk. tropical depression 9, max winds of 35 miles per hour between cund the exact track. it is going to have that boomerang effect and move toward jacksonville, fl toward the end back of the week. very interesting. we will keep you updated but very heavy rain moving towards florida and some gusty winds for us. it has been so dry. we continue to have the dry count on the map for the month of august and it looks like to
