you can see the statue all the way. keeping a close eye on the tropics, and there are a number of storms out there right now that could affect us. let's bring in eric fisher. could those storms help with the drought situation? >> there's one that may generate showers for us. we're watching td 9 to the southwest. and also a wave just about to exit the coast of africa is expected to be a hurricane this week. and a pair of major hurricanes in the pacific. mid-lynn and lester are both moving towards the big island of hawaii and are expected to

let's try to prioritize these. gaston is not affecting bermuda. this is the one that brings the best chance for rainfall. so right now a depression, east of the outer banks, some of the moisture moves up the eastern seaboard, and gives us showers late wednesday to thursday. and as for the gulf system. that is expected to slide off to the south this weekend. and we'll have to keep close tabs on it. we do get a little bit of but not any direct impact on new england. we'll search for cooler temperatures coming up in a bit. construction is now underway to place barricades right in front of the sweet tomatoes restaurant in nutans a line of protection. part way down that lock to prevent another crash like the one we saw in march.

what can happen. this crash was from may of last year. a truck venturing westbound and had its top just ripped right off by that overpass and miraculously no injuries. there'll be lots of u-haul and budget trucks moving students into their dorms and now there's an app called smart truck route. you use it it's going to keep you off roads where trucks are not allowed. right now students heading back to school, it might be an app they want to use. >> it would be nice if we didn't see another of those crashes. several high school football players injured on the field. >> and it may have felt a little bit like florida here lately. but is that enough to draw manatees to the coastline?
