days, likely not making a landfall in florida until late on thursday. a depression off the outer banks is producing surf at the coastline. and another wave is just leaving the coast of africa. this is the new track just in from the hurricane center and at the very end of it, now a piece of southern new england is within the cone of uncertainty. so it gets wider as you get towards the end of the path. there's more uncertaint there's a chance this may -- as we head to late sunday and monday. the trend today has been farther west. what we're watching with all of this is how a ridge of high pressure is going to develop as we move into the weekends. we have one over the middle of the country and one over the ocean. the storms like to find the weakness between the two. it's likely it will be off the southeast coast saturday and sunday. and the biggest question mark

we head to labor day. we could use the rain but don't want the wind of course. we have breaking news. a 3-year-old boy pulled from a backyard swimming pool in lowell earlier in the month has passed away. police are still investigating. isis says commanders has been killed in northern syria. he was reportedly in charge of propaganda for isis. and this year he is the one who called for attacks during ramadan just before the rampage in orlando and the attack in east france. no word on how he was killed.

and a few clouds. and by tomorrow morning, the humidity will move up a little bit. we end a record warm august with a very warm day. temperatures in the mid-80s by lunchtime tomorrow. the humidity is on the rise and the clouds will tend to thicken as we head to the afternoon and the evening. and some of us will make a run at 90 degrees. forecasting 90 in boston. worcester up to 84. and new bedford 83 degrees. and a warm sticky day as we of rain. we head to tomorrow night and scattered showers and downpours. if one of these showers can move over logan airport before midnight it won't be the driest on record. we'll see scattered showers and downpours throughout the day on thursday. and beneficial rain. an unsettled day. and then we look to the weekend. friday, high pressure is building in and there's a slight chance of a shower for us.

the system in the gulf starts to move off the east coast. and on saturday it's likely off to the south. saturday is liking like the safest day of the weekend in terms of sunshine or plans outdoors. as we head to sunday, here's the question mark. will the area of high pressure keep it shunted off to the east? or will this be allowed to retro grade or move west late sunday to monday? that looks like the timeline. doth about a hurricane. it would produce high surf. gusty winds, and maybe much needed rainfall. the timing stinks, and it's several days off. we'll be updating this over the next few days. the trend was west. and one thing is for certain. cooler temperatures, 70s to around 80 on thursday. starting to feel like fall is around the corner. part of the powerball
