. and we fin with breaking news right now at noon. a car runs off an old bridge in bourne and crashes into the cape cod canal. rescue teams rushed to the scene to pluck that driver from the water as the the scene in bourne with the very latest. she joins us on the phone now. anna. >> reporter: kate, i'm on perry avenue near the town hall in bourne right now. this area is blocked off with crime tape. officials tell me a man trove through a seating area with benches, crashed through a piece of fencing, and flew off a bridge abutment dropping about 30 to 40 feet and then plunge into the canal. officials tell me the car

you can smell some of the smoke in the air from that. in this video, you can see first responders carrying the man on a stretcher from the water and loading him into an ambulance. police say he only has minor injuries. now the challenge is getting that car out of the water. there are currently both in the water trying to locate it because the challenge is the tide has been getting higher and higher. so the car has become even more submerged. at this time, it's still unclear how or dropping off that bridge abutment and into the cape cod canal. but luckily this man is going to be 0' kay. that's the latest from bourne. back to you guys. >> an that, thank you. breaking news in danville, new hampshire this noon, where a death investigation is underway. authorities say they were called to a home on caramel drive yesterday when they arrived, they found a woman dead inside. police are back on the scene today investigating. the victim's identity has not

planned for later today. former fox news anchor grip he will carlson has settled a sexual harassment suit against the network. several outlets including usa today are reporting she will get $20 million in the deal. and the company today apologized to her in print. earlier this year, carlson sued fox news claiming her contract wasn't renewed after she refused a sexual advances of then ohio roger ailes. several other women have since stepped forward with similar allegations against ailes prompting him network in july. well, now to the weather. a dreery return to reality -- dreary return to reality as rain showers from hermine scatter our area. >> it might feel a little fall-like out there. but summer is getting ready to make a return, danielle niles joins us now. she has a look at the forecast. >> you can believe it we'll be near 90 by the end of the week. so big turn around in store. definitely gloomy out there right now. temperatures feeling a little bit fallish.

boston at 68. stretching back up to -- up to laurens, 71 in concord. 73 in keen. and lower to middle 70s from taunton. we are tracking a couple of showers. most of them light. there is hermine post tropical, still packing shstrong winds near the storm's center out over the ocean. but our wind threat is done. now it's the bands of moisture, light moisture at that. so the few pockets of drizzle, light rain showers, on the east side of harvard. a few more all holliston stretching to norwood. then plymouth hugging is coastline. a couple of sprinkles near the canal as well. the wind currently is 10 to 15 miles per hour. this is the sustained wind. we're gusting a little bit higher. but not all that strong at the coastline. the seas are obviously still churned up. so the high surf and the rip currents will be the primary concern over the next 24 hours. otherwise your planner goes this

home. 70 degrees. mid jts overnight. then some spotty showers tomorrow. a peek of sun 76. we'll let you no he when we finally kick hermine out of here and when the heat builds in. >> thank you. a framingham state university police officer appears in court today facing lewdness charges. >> he's now banned from campus. our nicole jacobs is live this noon with the story. nicole. >> reporter: ken, this alleged crime happened at the framingham state university campus at the police department where both alleged victim and the suspect worked. the student employee and this suspect here wilter dorm i vill had an encounter where the student was seated and dorm he vill standing above her. she claims that he exposed himself then took it further. i can also tell you that she told police that he apologized and said forget that ever

until proven guilty. >> reporter: 28-year-old appearing before the court as at cued charged with open and gross lewdness and witness intimidation. >> no comment. >> reporter: no comment from him or his attorney on the way out. but it was at framingham state university where he worked as a campus police officer that an inappropriate acts allegedly occurred. the victim a student employee. he was immediately placed on leave banned from the campus. now a judge says he is t no contact with the alleged victim. this as the case remains under investigation. he placed a $500 bail the day of his arrest. he was released on that same bail today. he's due back in court next month. we're life in framingham. nicole jacobs, wbz news. boston police are investigating a sexual assault on the greenway. a woman said she was walking near state street and atlantic

the suspect is described as a white or hispanic man in his 40s or 50s, about 5'5", wearing a dark bruins jersey and a baseball hat. anyone with information should call boston police. a 21-year-old quincy woman is facing drunk driving charges following a crash into the back of a state trooper's cruiser overnight. police say lily reed hit the cruiser which was pulled over on 93 south near exit 18. the trooper was hurt and taken to the hospital. he was later release arraigned tomorrow. today a dorchester man will face charges for a deadly hit-and-run in mat i pan. police say 39-year-old anthony buchanan turned himself in. they say he was speeding and driving drunk when he hit and killed 46-year-old jennette sims in a crosswalk on saturday night. this is the crash on the mass pike that wreaked havoc for the morning commute. police tell us this driver went

into the guardrail. the driver was taken to the hospital. that crash caused a back-up that lasted for miles right in the middle of the morning rush. no word on the cause of the crash. the pike, though, is now back to normal. no two hours or so, the boston police union and the city will buttheads over body cameras. at 2:00 they ask a superior court jung for an injunction to postpone the city's pilot program. it was supposed to begin on september 1st. the thing is the wear the cameras, but when no officers volunteered being the city randomly assigned 100 comes and the police union now argues that wasn't the deal. so the union's lawyer wants to delay the program until the two sides can negotiate another approach on body cams. detectives are still trying to figure out the motive and the message behind a molotov cocktail that was tossed into a boston police officer's front yard. this is a photo of the device

if that officer was specifically targeted. the lawn was scorched but there was no real damage to the home and no one was hurt. it happened early sunday morning in boston police are urging other officers to be on alert. the commissioner says, quote, the safety and we will being of my officers is always of highest importance to me and as a result, this is an incident we are taking seriously and investigating accordingly. a hearing today in bill cosby's felony sex assault trial could bring key evidence to light. lawyers for the comedia 1,000 pages of damaging testimony he gave in his accuser's lawsuit. a judge could also set a trial date today. cosby's charged with drugging and molesting a woman he mentored at temple university in 2004. in campaign 2016, a tightening race, perhaps. a new cnn poll out today shows donald trump leading hillary clinton. the poll has trump with 45% compared to clinton's 43%.

. starting today, the public will be able to weigh in on the new proposed rates for electronic tolling here on the mass pike. >> mass dot will hold the first meeting tonight at union station. it's one of several public meetings to discuss the newly installed gantries over the highway. the proposed rates will be voted on in october. itt tech has shutdown the for-profit college chain. it announced it will close all

in massachusetts. one in wilmington and another in norwood. the school says it was forced to take action after the department of education banned students from applying for federal financial aid. thousands of students who are currently enrolled will be affected by the closure along with the school's 8,000 employees. police in oregon are now looking for this group caught on camera toppling a popular rock formation. it's known as the duck bill. oregon state park officials originally said they didn't humans. but cell phone video shows a group of vandals knocking it over. the sandstone pedestal was roughly 7 to 10 feet across and it was in a fence-offed section of the park. a massive mansion fire. >> i'll tell but that. fueled by winds from hermine. according to local records, a multimillion dollar property belonged to the former owner of the sox of the federal people

they reported some issues trying to pull water from hydrants. no word yet on a cause. all right. we're talking about hermine still. yes, dominated the conversation the last few days. but maybe this is the last day. we have serious effects. >> i would say today and tomorrow just some showers leftover. the damaging wind threat is done. rough seas today will still be churned up at the coastline. so stay out of the water. the latest and this is new as of the last hour or sox the tropical storm warnings have now been dropped for the cape so no longer in effect. rough seas do continue today and tomorrow, dangerous rip currents thankfully the tides have been low. so we have not been dealing with any -- at least beach -- well, minor beach erosion. but not significant in spots and thankfully no flooding. minor to moderate costal flooding. not much rain either. showers through tomorrow but we certainly need a lot more than just showers. here is hermine post tropical.

no tropical characteristics left over. hermine is going to wobble here, turn stationary and then cross the cape and islands. we head into tomorrow night. it feels fallish out tlchl the dew point has gone out so it feels a little sticky. but the tipps in the 60s right now from boston to laurens at 68, 64 in wooster. lower 70s in keen. and most of us in the 70s from the southshore back down to cape cod. a couple of sprinkles. you may want the umbrella on briefly. a ball cap on t amounting to much. a couple sprinkles from clinton pretty muching back down to the south side of framingham. dover, medfield, med way the north side of noor wood a sprinkle for you. so there hermine. we need it get kicked out of here but we need something to kick it out. and that is going to be the next disturbance coming into the midwest. timely boots hermine off to the north and east and that front

so we've got a couple more days to contend with the leftovers from hermine. just a chance of a shower through the rest of today and tonight. lows drop back in the mid jts. the wind not all that strong out there. highs tomorrow could be a little bit generous, we'll manage upper 70s to low 80s. here's the hour by hour. notice not a a ton of activity on the commute home. but a scattered shower or two. me spots. tomorrow early morning commute, there will be pockets of showers that fill back in. that tapers in by mid to late morning. still a spotty shower around tomorrow afternoon and evening but notice, yes, the breaks of sun that will waft us -- boost us to around 80. today and tomorrow we're talking about less than .10 of an inch. so notice the green here shows less than half an inch. but most of us it's not going to amount to a whole lot in terms of rainfall amounts. thursday, we get a chance of a

night. it's going to go mug -- going to be muggy and warm. 90 on friday. who says summer is over? lower humidity in the weekend. saturday looks like the pick right now. we'll be in the mid-80s. sunday chance of a shower or thunderstorm. it looks like we'll clear things out. it looks beautiful for the start of next week. >> good. because summer is not over in my mind. i appreciate that. on the health watch this noon, oral contraceptive use that's lead to a drop of cancer deaths in women. u.s. but use of the pill isn't the only reason for the drop. european researchers say a decline in the use of hormone replacement therapy played a role. taking antibiotics early in life may race the risk of developing allergies later on. doctors in the nether lans found babies who were given antibiotics in the first two years of life had a 41% higher risk of eczema.

. chevy chase is headed to rehab. a spokesperson says that the 72 year old is being treated for an alcohol-related issue in minnesota. he faced addiction battles before. he was treated at the betty ford center for a painkiller addiction back in 1986. well, a protest on the runway. flights in and out of london this morning. >> emergency crews and police were dispatched to the runway where the protesters were arrested. they're with the group black lives matter and say they're update with the environmental inequality in britain. the airport is now back to normal. britt arab air -- british airways is apologizing after a computer glitch. passengers faced long lines and delays this morning. over 150 flights were delayed or
