a snap chat scandal, high school boys targeted for racy pictures and emergency at a firefighter's home. two shootings and an arrest and then police say they found more weapons. and a driver goes air born into the canal, police charged him. >> live from the channel 4 studios in boston, this is wbz news at 11:00 p.m. now at 11:00 p.m. for naked photos. police warn whoever is behind the account is targeting boys in high school. wbz's julie loncich is live outside the school now where the principal met with the entire class. julie? >> reporter: school has not even been in session a fuel week yet and already the principal and police department met with every sophomore to discuss the seriousness of the situation.

popular social media apps but now administrators feel someone has been using snap chat to target and take advantage of minors. >> screen shots. everything. just if you get a hold of it it won't go away. >> reporter: friday they learned someone created a fake account and tried to solicit pictures from students. the police department was notified and it was determined sophomore boys specifically targeted. and some of them may have responded with compromising photographs. >> i am afraid i am not surprised. seems nomatter -- they are not necessarily thinking when they do it. you know, we think they know but maybe they don't. >> the principal addressed the sophomore class and sent home a letter to parents informing

person who created the account is a student, male or female or an adult. administrators are urging parents to talk to their children about the permanentance of the -- permanence of the internet. >> you have to be careful, you have to know who you are talking to. >> reporter: sending explicit photographs qualifies an child julie loncich, wbz news. police are investigating a deadly crash where a car went off the road and into the woods late this afternoon. what we know is that the victim is an older man and the only person in the car. investigators are trying to figure out why he lost control. firefighter is recovering from a gun shot wound and he is under arrest. police who know him can't explain the chaos police found

>> reporter: the firefighter who works here has no priors. i went by and spoke with a woman who says he is the greatest man she ever met. >> units responded. minutes later they heard two gun shots. >> phone call led police to this house. a firefighter and police found themselves in a stand off tuesday morning that firefighter's home. the firefighter later identified as joseph own house. >> this person was distraught. >> reporter: his wife was the only other person inside and was not harmed. his dog ran out the front door that was open. they shot the dog out of fear of it attacking an officer. the dog survived. >> he was upset about the dog being shot. the best thing you can do is

to this. >> reporter: he was arraigned from the hospital and charged with assault and discharge of a firearm within a dwelling. police found 13 guns total. all legally owned in the house. >> rifles. shotguns. and assault rifle. >> reporter: no comment from the mayor or the fire chief. the police chief doesn't know the firefighter but can understand being distressed. >> we deal with a lot of stress. we can maybe he was under stress. >> the firefighter is still in the hospital. he has a hearing friday. chantee lans, wbz news. the visitor that just won't go away. what is left of hermine is off the coast tonight. and it is expected to bring us more rain tomorrow. eric fisher is here now. when is hermine gone for good? >> we are tired of this one. thursday morning working off the coast, further out to sea.

suits. wbz's jim talked to her son. >> we are not sure what happened. >> reporter: he comforts his son at the scene of his mother's death. a death investigators consider suspicious. on monday new hampshire police found the body inside this home. he says the victim is his former wife. >> it is real tough to see him. only >> absolutely. you know? it is his mother. you know? >> reporter: not knowing is -- >> that is hard. it was a shock this morning when they knocked on the door. shock. >> reporter: one of the toughest things was breaking the news to their son. >> i don't see why anyone did this. it was just -- i don't know who -- i don't know who she angered that much. i don't know if they had a

killed a woman. the woman crossing the street when the car hit her. she not a student. the battle over police body cameras in boston headed to a courtroom today where the commissioner took to the stand to support his decision to force officers to wear the body cameras. the police union is fighting it. arguing it should be a similarity process -- voluntary process. a police officer was fired this afternoon. he pleaded not guilty at his arraignment today. he has been banned from campus. a confession in a cold case. a minnesota man admits he kidnapped and killed a 11-year- old boy in 1989 but he will never be charged with the murder. danny heinrich told police he sexual assaulted and killed

congress passed a law named after jacob wetterling requiring states to establish sex offender registries. today a judge set bill cosby's trial for next june. facing accusations he drugged and raped a woman in 2004. the judge reveled that bill cosby is now blind and will get whatever accommodations he needs to take part in his defense. tonight there is a new national poll donald trump a -- gives donald trump a slight edge but cbs predicts hillary clinton winning the electoral votes. wbz's liam martin is live with more. >> reporter: donald trump turned things around but polls from the battle ground states show hillary clinton with a lead. each trying to sell themselves with the best policy on
