taunton sitting at 49 and 50s to right around 60 in provincetown right now. look at the satellite and radar, nothing to talk about. bright sunshine going to be the case again today with mostly sunny skies from start to finish. sunrise coming up at 6:22 this morning. cool start but we rebound quickly. sunny and warm. 78 degrees by lunch with a southwest breeze. we top out 80 to 84 for most of us. no weather-related issues for the ride home. just gorgeous with the sunset the 6:56. i'm tracking thunderstorms tomorrow. details on that coming up. >> breaking news overnight, we have two water main breaks to tell you about this. the first one is in woburn. it's under the bridge right off of 128. we have some live images. a photographer on the scene says he saw cars were having to drive up on the sidewalk to get around this. you can see all the water, a lot of water to deal with at this scene. crews are working to repair that break. crews are also working to repair

park. this was the scene at the intersection of hyde park and american legion highway. there is a huge hole in the road. we also have live pictures from this scene. our photographer there says american legion highway is closed between hyde park ave and will mont street and the right lane is blocked inbound at the intersection with american legion highway. so keep that in mind if that's part of your commute. definitely avoid the area. we will let you know as soon as both also new overnight, a 67-year-old man is in the hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car in fall river. it happened just before 10:00 last night on route 24 north between exits 8a and b. state police say he was right by his car when -- which was parked on the side of the road when he was hit. so far the driver involved has not been charged. a mother murdered. her young child inside the home at the time.

father, our anna meiler is live in methuen for us this morning. she joins us with the latest. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, ken. the district attorney says that young boy is safe at a relative's house. police are now asking the public for help finding his father, 32-year-old emilio de la rosa. >> she's a great person. she was the most loving and carrying person ever. >> reporter: friends can't believe the smiling young mother is gone. he just saw weekend. >> we were having a good time, her kid was running around. >> reporter: but on monday morning, the essex district attorney says police found the 29 year old unresponsive inside her home. she was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. the d.a. says her 4-year-old son was home at the time she was killed. >> a major concern is the well being of the child and ascertaining the whereabouts of the father. >> reporter: he took the

that family member then called 911. police are now asking the public to help them find the boy's father. they say the 32 year old is a person of interest. >> there is no danger to the public. we don't believe anyone else outside of the specific target here, being ms. rosa, the is the unit is the -- is the subject of any danger. >> reporter: grieving friends are also hoping for answers. >> hopefully we find out, you know, what happened and hope her family need. >> reporter: the d.a. says he has a history with the massachusetts court system and is on probation. if you have any information, call police. reporting live from methuen, anna meiler, wbz this morning. boston police are saying that their offices used tremendous restraint while dealing with a knife-wielding suspect. they say they got a call last week about a man with a nine inch kitchen knife who was

drunk. a 36-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and battery. major changes coming for a bridgewater state hospital. today governor baker is expected to announce an overhaul in the way the medium security prison treats inmates with mental illness. our nick giovanni is live outside the statehouse with a closer look at the plan. nick, good morning. >> reporter: ken, good morning. state officials are calling this a new level of care in the "boston globe" report that came out overnight. a complete culture change when it comes mentally ill inmates. a substantial shift is being reported by the "boston globe" in how massachusetts' criminal justice system handling mentally ill inmates. according to the globe's reports, governor baker plans to announce that shift today. specifically at bridgewater state hospital. away from its current prison model, the approach with minute mates. part of that plan according to the globe will be to move mentally ill inmates convicted of state crimes out of the state

separate facility leaving behind -- leaving behind other mentally ill inmates. every inmate would receive an individualized treatment plan within ten days of admission. and those on psychiatric medications would see a psychiatrist. in the wake of joshua messier's death back in 2009 as guards wrestled him into restraints, contact between correctional officers and inmates would now be limited. now critics of the governor's services equal added costs. but according to this report, no estimates of just how much have been given just yet. live in the statehouse this morning, wbz this morning. a show of force from the united states against north korea and its recent nuclear test, the u.s. flew two nuclear-capable b1 supersonic bombers escorted by jets over south korea. the move was in response to north korea's nuclear test last

north korea says u.s. hostility is the reason it needs a bomb program. never overnight a nuclear gauge stolen in west virginia. federal regulators say the portable gauge containing sealed radioactive material was stolen. that technician works for an engineering firm. the nuclear gauge is used for soil measurements. officials say it is not hazardous if the materials stay tampering could result in radiation exposure. campaign 2016 now. hillary clinton is off the campaign trail against today and dealing with more questions about transparency over her diagnosis. that's rival donald trump continues to bash her. hannah daniels has the latest. >> how are you feeling? >> reporter: hillary clinton is frying to set the record straight about -- trying to set the record straight about her diagnosis. >> i didn't think it was going to be that big a deal. >> reporter: in a phone

north church. >> according to the boston globe, a time capsule unveiled many items including english dinnerware, the archaeologists did a dig calling the project an unbelievable opportunity to see snapshots of history. we did a time capsule in the 8th. >> what can you put -- what did you put in there? >> i probably an atari. something like that. snap bracelets, anything neon, madonna. >> when is it being dug up? >> i don't know. i think they're lost it and we'll never find it. someone in a couple hundred years will find it and say what was wrong with these people. >> now we have a mystery. did you like yesterday weather-wise. >> it was great. it was sweet. >> i think you'll love today, then, too we're going to be a little bit warmer. just as many sunshine.

i mean it's 62 in boston right now. it's very similar out the door this morning. another cool start with temperatures running in the 40s and 50s for most of the suburbs. it's 46 in jaffrey right now. 47 in concord. 43 in sanford. we're a little bit milder all relative of course by a few degrees. 51 in bedford. 47 in norwood. 49 in taunton right now. 50 on the vineyard right now. and then most of us in the 50s to low 60s when you towards the outer cape. quiet conditions, clear skies overhead right now. one the suns comes up it will be shining brightly. next disturbance bringing clusters of showers and thunderstorms is out over the midwest right now. this front is going to approach tomorrow and bring us a threat for thunderstorms. in the meantime high pressure that blue h, that fair weather cell is still in control of our weather today. what it does do is bring a wind. it will be breezy this afternoon.

81 in taunton today. lower 80s for many of us. 84 in laurens. one of the warmer spots to the merrimac valley. most of the us running in the 70s on cape cod. there will be a couple of clouds overnight tonight. we won't be as cool. that southwest breeze stays active. 65 for an overnight low. highs tomorrow come into the 80s t will be a little bit warmer and a little bit humid. middle to upper 80s for highs the south coast, new bedford will be in the low 80s. most of tomorrow morning and early afternoon is fine. but i am keeping you on alert for thunderstorms later in the day. 2:00 p.m. we're still doing okay. a blend of sun and clouds. 3:00, 3:30 you notice a line starting to come into western areas of massachusetts and southern vermont and southern portions of new hampshire. so late in the afternoon tomorrow, i want you to keep an eye to the sky.

then 5:00, 6:00 your ride home, chance of thunderstorms, they should push south of boston between the 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. time frame and then weaken off the cape and islands. 1 or 2 storms could become strong to severe tomorrow. the primary threat would be for damaging wind gusts so we'll keep you onguard. sun shine, high of 70, beautiful end to the week. nice start to the weekend too. we'll get increasing clouds on saturday and a chance shower or storm on sunday. >> we have an update on that breaking news out of woburn. it will be closed for most of the day now due to that water main break that we told you. police say this is a major break. right now just one lane of traffic is getting by but police say in about 15 minutes, by 5:30 in the morning they will have to completely shut down in road. we do have some live images from the scene right now. and someone actually called

to report water bubbling in that area. police do say that additional details, including key tour -- detour info, will be released as the morning goes on. we'll be sure to bring that to you as we get it. we have all heard the stereotype that boston drivers are the worst. it seems that may be the case after all. for the third year in a row, all state is ranking us the worst in the country. the insurance giant says boston drivers are 187% more likely to national average. massachusetts took the silver as well, wooster drivers came in second. i think it's everyone else. the. >> we don't like that. >> but we're in good hands with all state. two more commuter rail employees have been fired for attendance and timecard issues. keolis which is subcontracted to run the commuter rail says internal audit found problems in their mechanical department. the company tells wbz the

cam standards and undermined taxpayer trust. six employees were fined last week -- or fired, rather, for the very much the same thing. >> mbta union workers are making sure their voices are heard. the union is upset the mbta is considering privatizing. the system has 1700 drivers and 450 maintenance workers. and the t spans about $169 an hour operating the sm. ford says private companies may be able to do some of that work for a lot less than the people have those jobs are fighting back. >> privatization we feel is not the answer. what will happen is they'll raise fares, cut service and reduce benefits of the men and women. >> the union claims it it has given management its own plan to save $24 million over the next four years. they say they haven't heard back from the t. the union is currently under

at bridgewater state hospital. the globe reports he wants to change the way that prison treats inmates with mental illness. those changes will reportedly including moving mentally ill inmates convicted of state crimes into a separate facility. from those who have been charged with minor crimes. the plan would also create individualized treatment plans for each inmate. a plymouth man is facing charges and apologizing for taking down a memorial police flag. police she hickman removing this banner from the route 6 overpass on sunday. they also say hickman may have removed as many as three others. hickman said he didn't know police put them up and was trying to protect public space. >> is state property now supposed to become billboard fort general public? if so, can anybody put something there? >> there's been three previous incidents where he has taken a total of six flags. >> the flag hickman removed over

yarmouth deputy police chief whose son was killed in afghanistan. hickman said he didn't know that and wanted to personally apologize. still, he's been charged with three counts of larceny. boston police have begun their new body camera program with a big name on the force joining if on -- joining in on the first day. this is the chief demonstrating a body camera that he wore during yesterday's kickoff. 100 officers will be participating in the six-month pilot program which is designed to give the department a chance to evalu the new technology inch the white house says president obama is intent on veto is reallying legislation that would allow families of the government to sue saudi arabia. it gives families the right to sue in u.s. court. but the obama administration says it sets a bad precedent because other countries could use it as an excuse to pull

members into court. more debris has been found in madagascar that could belong to the missing ma a little bittian airlines flight 370. the flight disappeared in march of 2014 with 239 people on board. the crash site has not been found. the newly discovered debris appears to show burn marks. experts are examining the pieces to figure out where they came from. they're pulling their champion games out of carolina. search playoff games including seven march madness games are among those that won't take place in that state. the move is just one of many in recent months that have come in light of the state's controversial transgender bathroom bill. now colin kaepernick continuing his national anthem protest on the national stage. 49er's back-up quarterback knelt with teammate eric reid during the anthem last night ahead of their match-up with the rams.

exit four at route 24. i'm guessing that back-up is probably going to make its way further and further down 24 as the morning goes on. we're also following two breaking news stories this morning. one is in hyde park and a water major main break in woburn. this has shut down the route leet rotary. police is telling us this repair will take most of the day. so do not expect this to open up any time soon. it may be closed for the commu home. police do they will us -- tell us they will release due tour information as the morning goes on. changes are coming to bridgewater state hospital. >> plus a mother is murdered in methuen. here are your stop stories on this tuesday morning. a young mother is murdered in methuen and now police are asking the public for help finding a person of interest. he is evident county district attorney says 29-year-old wanda ra sew -- rosa was found unresponsive.

hospital. they say her 4-year-old was at home at the time she was killed and they're now looking for that little boy's father. 32-year-old emeal away de la rosa who are calling a person of interest. hear from rosa's friends and neighbors coming up. a massachusetts woman accused of raping two teenage boys will spend the next four years in pleaded guilty yesterday. one of the boys was friends with her daughter. when she gets out of jail, she will spend three years on probation and have to wear a gps bracelet. she will be required to register as a sex offender. . >> reporter: a substantial shift is being reported by the "boston globe" this morning when this comes to way inmates with mental illness are treated in massachusetts. according to this globe report, governor baker plans to announce

constitution. he will be sentenced in december. flint michigan could be seeing $220 million in emergency funding thanks to a new bill. the senate has voted to mover forward with a $10 billion water projects bill that would authorize 29 projects in 18 states. it also includes money to improve water infrastructure across the country. it's expected to be approved late this week. a new report suggests the sugar industry played down the hazards of the 1960s. the report says they instead pointed to fat and cholesterol as main risk factors for heart disease. scientists were allegedly paid for their work on that decade's old report. researchers in california say the new findings point to the importance of having medical research free of conflicts of interest. well, could studying and working hard making you pack on extra pounds. new research out of the university of alabama at birmingham showed that a busy
