woburn police say they are shutting down the road and they are expecting repairs to take most of the day. so plan on using an alternate route for the commute and potentially the commute home. we do have some live images from the scene. the good news out of this is the break is not affecting drinking water and it does look like some cars are getting by, but definitely expect this area to close down as the morning goes on. crews crews are also to repair a water mainak there's a huge hole in the road. no word yet on when they'll finish their repairs. very quickly there's also an accident you should know about before you head out the door. it's happening on 128 south in randolph. it is heading toward the braintree split at exit five. traffic is jammed up now on 128 through braintree. you can see it's backing up all the way down 24 north. so a busy morning out there. kate. >> thank you. new overnote i 67-year-old man is in the hospital with serious injury after he was hit

it happened just before 10:00 last night. state police say he was hit by -- he was by his car which was parked on the side of the road when he was hit. right now the driver is not facing charges. a methuen mother murdered. her young child inside the home at the time. this morning, police are searching for that 4 year old's father. wbz's anna meiler is live in methuen for us this morning. she joins us with the latest on the investiga. the district attorney says that little boy's father emilio delarosa is a person of interest and now they're asking the public for help finding him. >> she's a great person. she was the most loving and caring person ever. >> reporter: friends can't believe she's gone. rolando just saw her over the weekend. >> we were having a good time, her kid was running around. >> reporter: but on monday morning, the essex district

her home. she was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. the d.a. says her 4-year-old son was home at the time she was killed. >> our major concern is the well being of the child and ascertaining the whereabouts of mr. delarosa. >> reporter: the d.a. says delarosa took the 4 year old to a relative's house. that family member then called 911. police are now asking the public to help them find the boy's father. they say the 32 year old is a person of interest. >> there is no danger public. we don't believe anyone else outside of the specific target here being ms. rosa is the subject of any danger. >> reporter: grieving friends are also hoping for answers. >> hopefully we find out, you know, what happened and hope her family gets the answers they need. >> reporter: the district attorney says delarosa has a history with a massachusetts court system and is own probation. if you have any information,

anna meiler, wbz this morning. major changes coming to bridgewater state hospital. today governor bake ser expected to announce an overhaul in the way that medium security prison treats inmates with mental illness. nick giovanni is live outside the statehouse with a closer look at the plan. nick, good morning. >> reporter: kate, good morning. state officials are calling this a new level of care in the "boston globe" that came out. calling it a complete culture change when it comes to inmates with mental illness are treated. a substantial shift is being reported by the "boston globe" in how massachusetts criminal justice system handles mentally ill inmates. according to the report, governor baker plans to announce that shift today. specifically at bridgewater state hospital. away from its current prison model, the clinical approach with inmates. part of that plan according to the globe will be to move mentally ill inmates convicted

separate facility leaving behind other mentally ill inmates charged with sometimes minor crimes but not convicted. every inmate would receive an individualized treatment plan within ten days of admission. and those on psychiatric medications would see a psychiatrist. in the wake of joshua he'sier's death back in 2009 as guards wrestled him into restraints contact between officers and inmates would now be limited. these additional services equal added costs. but according to this report, there's no estimate of just how much we're talking just yet. live in the statehouse, wbz this morning. 6:06 now. campaign 2016 on this tuesday morning. hillary clinton speaking about the health scare that's forced her off the campaign trail. clinton says she's feeling much better since nearly passing out at a 9/11 ceremony on sunday.

. we've all heard the stereotype that boston drivers are the worst. and it seems, well, that may be the case after all. for the third year in a row, all state is ranking us the worst in the industry. the drivers are 167% likely to have an accident than the national average. and massachusetts took the silver as well. wooster drivers came in second. >> clearly they've never been to long island to see how those people drive. >> i grew up in jersey. it was pretty crazy there. >> i know danielle is a wicked good driver because i see her skidding in the parking lot in the morning. >> on two wheels. >> i will say people here don't yield and that makes me crazy on

in woburn. it's on route 38 of the rotary under the bridge off of 128. woburn police say they are hutting down this road and they are expecting repairs to take all day long. we have do have live i am paths from -- images from our photographer. you can see one lane of cars are getting by. if you live in woburn this break isn't affecting drinking water. we're also keeping our eye on this accident on 128 south randolph. it's heading toward the braintree split. so a very busy morning on the roads. two more commuter rail employees have been fired for attendance and timecard issues. keolis which is subcontracted to run the t's commuter rail says internal audit found the problems in their mechanical department. the company tells wbz the employees riled ethical standards and undermined taxpayer trust. six employees were fired last

new england schools making the new list of best colleges in the country with one here in massachusetts, just missing the top spot. princeton university was number one in the u.s. news and world report rankings. harvard coming in at number two on the list. then tying for third was university of chicago and yale also making the list was m.i.t. ranking seventh. dartmouth college is 11th and brown university in rhode island coming enter at number 14. no homework has assigned to students at essex elementary school. not last night and not at all this school year. the globe reports it's all thanks to a new policy adopted by the school. the goal instead of assignments, time after school can be spent playing or relaxing with family. well, today is team up day in a concussion awareness day for coaches and players all across the country. this morning, the boys and girls soccer teams at somerville high school will take part and learn

. two 14-year olds accused of going on a joyride in a stolen front end loader. police say they received reports that the construction vehicle was knocking over mailboxes and fire hydrants after being stolen. officials tried to stop it along the main turnpike but they say the loader swerved into oncoming

cruiser. police eventually shot out the tires. . boys were taken into custody and are expected to face charges. a scare at last night's "dancing with the stars" premiere targeting u.s. swimmer ryan lochte. >> excuse me. hey, back off. >> two men were arrested after rushing the stage following lochte's debut performance. police say the two men who were wearing anti-lochte t-shirts were arrested for trespassing. lochte says he feels hurt by the incident. u.s. swimming officials recently banned lochte for ten months after he lied about being robbed at a gas station in rio during the olympic. a local high school football player will not be disciplined after kneeling in protest touring the national anthem. michael o pong took a knee during the national anthem ahead of last friday's game. at first his coach said he was just tying his shoe. but then admitted that he was

breaking news this morning. two water main breaks happening just in time for the morning commutes. the biggest concern is this one right here. there is a major break on route 38 rotary off of 128. we do have live images from our photographer on the scene. woburn police say they are going to let a lane of traffic get by, but you should expect delays, try to avoid this area all together. you can can -- you can see the huge hole in the road. crews are also working to repair a water main break in hyde park. thises with a the intersection of the hyde park avenue and american legion highway. we do have live pictures from that scene and you can see traffic is getting by. we don't have a word, yet, though only when this will be fixed. we have another problem area this morning and that is 128 south in randolph. there is an accident at exit five right as you approach the split. the back-up keeps going further and further down 24 north. it is all the way down to brockton this morning. kate. >> thank you.

at the time. this morning police are searching for that 4-year-old's father. wbz anna meiler is live in methuen this morning with the very latest on the investigation. anna. >> reporter: and kate the district attorney says that little boy's father is a person of interest and now they're asking the public for help finding him. the d.a. says 29-year-old wanda rosa was found unresponsive in her home monday morning. she was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. they say her 4-year-old wa they're now looking for that little boy's father, 32-year-old emilio delarosa from laurens. police say delarosa dropped the 4-year-old off at a relative's home and then took off. that family member then called 911 prompting a wellness check at rosa's home. friends and neighbors can't believe she's gone. >> she's a great person. she was the most loving and carrying person ever. >> hopefully we find out, you

the general public? if so, can anybody put something there? >> there's been three previous incidents where he has taken up a total of six flags. >> the flag himman removed over the weekend was put up by a deputy police chief whose son was killed in afghanistan. hickman said he dent know that part and wanted to personally apologize. he was charged with three counts of larceny. new information as police investigate vandalism at a mosque. worshippers say they saw three young people in the building sunday just after a rock smashed a window. the islamic society of greater nashua. police also got calls from three other locations about kids throwing rocks. still, a muslim civil rights organization is asking police to investigate the incident as a possible hate crime. boston police have begun their new body camera program with a big name on the force joining in on the first day. this is chief william demonstrating a camera he wore during yesterday's kick huff.

100 officers are participating pilot program. new this morning, boston police revealing their officers safely stopped a man armed with a nine inch knife outside an east boston elementary school. the incident happened last week. officials say those officers used, quote, tremendous restraint with the 36-year-old man who was threatening people and appeared drunk. that man was arrested and charged with assault and er take a selfie with your ballot and post it online? a boston appeals court will address that issue today. a new hampshire law banning voters from taking pictures with their ballots was struck down a year ago. supporters of the ban argue someone who wanted to coerce voters could insist on seeing pictures of their ballots to prove how they voted. opponents say it simply squashes free speech. several massachusetts

ainvited this morning is 128 south in randolph. there is an accident at exit five right as you approach the braintree split. the back-up on 24 north keeps getting worse and worse from this. it is now all the way down to brockton. kate and kent. >> all right. thank you. our top stories this morning. a 67-year-old man is in the hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car in fall river. >> it happened just before 10:00 last night. state police say the victim was near his car which was hit. right now, the driver is not facing charges. investigators are looking for a person of interest in the murder of a methuen mother. 29-year-old wanda rosa was found yesterday morning inside her home. prosecutors say her 4-year-old son was inside the house when she was killed. police are now looking for that child's father, emilio delarosa in connection with the crime. today governor baker is expected to announce an overhaul at bridgewater state hospital.

change the way the prison treats inmates with mental illness. those changes will reportedly include moving mentally ill inmates charged with state crimes into a separate facility from those who have been charged with minor crimes. the plan would also create individualized treatment plans for each inmate. hillary clinton is off the campaign trail again today. but she said she's feeling much better since nearly passing out at a 9/11 ceremony on sunday. clinton told cnn last night she didn't immediately disclose it because she didn't think clinton also promised to release more information about her medical records in the next few days. donald trump says he will release the results of his recent physical soon. police say they're seeing a bizarre uptick in thefts from donation bins. about six of them in the last eight months. they say the thieves come in two's. one plays lookout while the other enters the bin. they fill vans with hundreds of pounds of clothing and resell them in bulk. police say stealing a certain
