work. tonight we are on the storm watch. >> heavy rains, thunder, lightning popping up around the area, our chief meteorologist is tracking them all tonight. boy we need the rain. >> a little radar update for us. a few towns getting down pours this afternoon. port smith getting very heavy rainfall in southeastern new hampshire. extremely dry. one of the worst spots when it comes to the drought. could to this will be offshore in 20 minutes. not a long-lived down pour. farther south, reports of parking lots at gillette. saying there's rain coming down. that too is moving quickly to the south and east. heading out of foxboro and mansfield and moving into taunton. there's been more thunder and lightning in this band here, this will likely move into new bedford over the next 20

gusts. maybe 40 miles per hour. in any of these down pours or storms over the next two hours. the front is moving fast. it's very warm and humid now. the dew points are falling to the north. we'll work in the dry air tonight. when it comes to rain chances, a couple dry days in the week. but the rain returns this weekend. we'll time that out for you shortly. a bank robber is on the run in manchester new hampshire. police say this man came into the bank of america this morning. that guy in handed the teller a note demanding money, took the cash and took off. no one was hurt. this billboard is a renewed effort to solve a 24-year-old cold case on september 14th 1992, susan was found murdered in receiver. she was last seen leaving her job at logan airport. the next day police found her body in the trunk of her car. campaign 2016 and the candidates on child care.

that working families everywhere struggle with everyday. and our political analyst john keller has been taking a look at hillary clinton's and donald trump's proposals, and i know you have a break down for us. what did you find? >> a will -- little substance? the dualing plans between clinton and trump really reflect contrasting political philosophies. but as always the devil is in here are some key elements of the two plans. clinton calls for 2 weeks of parental leave for both moms and dads with up to 2/3 of salary guaranteed. and over all child care costs will be capped at 10% of family income with government subsidizing the rest. trump's plan offers six weeks of leave for mothers only.

child care costs from their income tax bill. and they create tax free savings accounts for kids and seniors. like the medical savings accounts many workers use but there's a common denominator in what they don't say. clinton's plan is vague about what it costs. it's not clear the 4% tax on multimillionaires she wants to pay for it may not be enough. trump's claim that reforms of for the tax breaks and benefits he's offering is highly speculative and his call for sweeping de regulation of the child care system makes you wonder exactly how he plans to ensure safety standards. but one thing's for sure paula, this issue is front and center in the minds of many of our viewers and the candidates are acknowledging that with this back and forth. >> it's really going to fall down party lines how people

a new way for identity thieves to steal your information. it's called cell phone hijacking. scam artists who all ready have your passwords transfer your number to a new phone and then stick you with the bill. a good way to protect yourself, set up a password or pin with your cell provider required before anyone makes changes to your mobile account.

breaking news right now. police are rein of his girlfriend. amelia de la rosa is accused of killing that man. she was found dead in her home monday morning. police are releasing these pictures of de la rosa's tattoos. one on his left arm says won wanda. three phoenix police officers intentionally hit by a car.

on camera. you can see the officers standing in a parking lot and the driver just hits them. the car then hit the cruiser, crashed into a convenience store, all three officers as well as the driver were hurt. but they should recover. the driver's now being charged with attempted murder. win-blown debris from super typhoon knocking a man right off his motorcycle, those dramatic images there. the storm has been hammering china per hour. the typhoon is the world east strongest so far this year. an unusual sight along cable beach in new hampshire. a swordfish washed ashore there. the fish died from a respiratory infection. but it's rare for a swordfish to come ashore. they live in the deepest water. this might be the best video of the day. a five week old panda cub trying to roll over. you can see the little one

bit. middle town rhode island getting into new bedford. continuing over toward the cape, a chance for a quick shower this evening. most of this activity will be moving offshore. we'll bring in the dryer air and slowly the humidity will fall and temperatures will be falling as we head through the night into the day tomorrow. the temps cooling in spots. we've had rain showers around. we're in the 60s just noh plenty of 60s farther north of the border into canada. that's the air mass for tomorrow. by the time you wake up, temperatures, upper 40s, north and west of boston. humidity will be gone when you wake up tomorrow morning. it's going to be a beautiful fall day, sunrise at 6:25, wind gusting out of the north/northeast tomorrow. some of the gusts, the first half of the day, 20 to 30 miles

tomorrow. low 70s inland in the afternoon. 60s at the coastline with winds coming in off the water. the water is getting colder at this stage of the year. high pressure right over the northeast. it's going to be a perfect september day. 70s, lots of sunshine. low humidity, and less wind. then we head into saturday, winds will come around more southerly. that will allow another warm up. we'll be apprin look up the full harvest moon. it's going to be crystal clear after a perfect day. i think it's going to be a good photo opportunity. focusing on the weekend, saturday is your day to get outdoors. brighter skies, warmer temperatures, sunday we bring in more cloud cover, and scattered showers and thunderstorms. a damp day, and a more humid day as well. if you want to be outdoors. stay dry, saturday will be your best bet. sunday not raining all day

if you zoom in closer, the red showing heavier rainfall. a couple lightning strikes along with that one. heavier rainfall along the immediate coast. if we time that out into born, by 6:40. hoping to get beneficial rain. and sweeping away heat and humanity. i had this picture sent in from matt over boston this evening. a pretty heavy down pour outside of wbz for a few minutes. we'll take the few minutes. that's better briefly damaging wind gusts. storms focused on southeastern massachusetts over these next two hours. they'll be very quickly moving to the southeast this evening. by 8:00, the last of the down pours and storms should be exiting cape cod. after that, we clear out over night, then we bring in dryer and cooler air, temperatures tomorrow morning, 48 to 55. a big change, boston around 58 degrees. we have a big cool down with highs around 70. 20 degrees cooler for most
